1. Do you know anyone who has been a contestant? 2. Do you think you could be a contestant?
Me: 1. No. 2. No. Not only am I deathly afraid of snakes, I can't swim all that well, run, etc. I also cannot open my eyes under water and am a scaredy-cat about creatures that live in the water. Not to mention my daily migraines, of course. I would be good at the puzzles, that's about it. I'm just a big baby.

1. No 2. Definitely No ... I hate being outdoors and everything associated with it ... rain, bugs, critters, sunburn etc. I'm not athletic at all so I would suck at most of the challenges ... I'm not really a people person so my social game would probably also suck

1. I casually knew someone that auditioned and got pretty far in the process many years ago (maybe Season 3 or 4?). She would have been great - super athletic, 40 something lawyer. 2. No for me. I couldn't sleep with all the bugs, snakes, etc., around and am not a nice person if I don't get enough sleep. I'm even nastier if I don't get fed regularly.

1. No...but I do have friends who have been on Dancing With the Stars, The Bachelor, and Big Brother.
2. No way. I don't even like being outside in my own back yard.

No
And
No, in addition to not being an outdoor person, I am too paranoid to play that game.

1. Yes! Rupert. He is a genuinely good guy.
2. No. Just not my cup of tea.

I would want to do it, but I'd probably suck at it. If I were younger and didn't have kids I would definitely try out.

1. Yes! Rupert. He is a genuinely good guy. I loved watching Rupert! It's so nice to hear he's a nice guy IRL because we often wonder if the contestants are different in real life. Like Abi this season - if her Survivor-self is her real personality, how could ANYONE stand her???

1. No 2. yes I think I would totally rock it!! I'd never audition though - aside from not being American, I wouldn't want to be on tv in a bathing suit! LOL But the outdoor stuff wouldn't bother me, and I think I could do ok at the social game as well as the strategy. I'd need to work out more before hand though, get in better shape! My dh would annoy everyone so much though that he would be voted out early on. He could totally MacGyver his way through the camp life & the challenges, but his social game would kill him LOL

No and no. I want to control a robot playing Survivor from inside a comfy hut with never-ending food and air conditioning. I like the strategy part, but I'm not nice when hungry.

1) no, didn't a peas mom get on an episode and get voted out first?
2) I could totally see me doing something like this. I'm an adventurer. I wouldn't be good at it, but I'd love it. They wouldn't take me due to health stuff though.

1. no
2. no. In an alternate universe, I'm screaming YES!!! lol I have this notion that if I were 20 and looked good in a bikini and also was very athletic I would want to do it. But as an overweight 40 something, no. lol

1. No 2. Not at this time in my life but would have loved to try when I was younger, healthier, and more fit. I keep trying to find someone I know to do it. My 16 year old DD and I have talked about her trying when she's old enough. We keep saying we should make a video now saying she wanted to do this since she was a kid (would have been better to do when she was even younger though!).

No. No. I hate the heat. I hate being Hungry. Most of all I am bossy (leadership qualities ) and would be voted out BEFORE the first tribal council and even if my tribe won. A special eviction episode would have to be made.

1. No 2. Wish I could but I am not fit enough. I like regular meals. I sunburn super easy. And I probably have a poor social game. So no I wouldn't do it.

1. I don't personally know a contestant, but there was someone from our neighborhood on. It was a big deal in our small town.
2. No I could't/wouldn't be a contestant. I've only watched the show one time and that was when I was at someones house and it was on. It was a finale and IIRC a boyfriend, girlfriend and another gal were in the finale (but i could be wrong...).

1. No, I don't know anyone who has been on Survivor
2. Yes, if it wasn't on T.V. I'm shy being in front of the camera. Even now that I'm 3 pounds from goal weight and feeling amazing after living as a vegan, I've always been shy being in front of the camera. People seem to like me and I get along well with them. As a former professional wedding photographer I was able to get folks to do what I wanted and needed them to do (like taking the posed shots before the wedding, yes even the bride and groom together and they loved it) and still everyone was happy.
The physical I would undertake a strenuous psychical conditioning program before I even began auditioning and I would continue this up to the date of leaving.
I'd learn to make fire, and all of the other little things that come in handy. I'm a "fish" in the ocean and adore swimming. The ocean is my 2nd home. I'm a adventure seeking, adrenalin junkie so most things don't faze me.
I don't like cold since I am hypothyroid it always feels much colder to me. Hopefully I'd be cast in a hot, tropical climate. Sleep would be a problem for me, but I think you adjust as best you can. Hunger is also a problem as it is for the folks on Survivor, but I'd try to learn how to be better at catching fish with a spear gun because I can snorkel and dive (free dive, can't scuba) pretty darn well.
My age might be a problem because at 55 I'm pretty well up there as far as Survivor contestants go.

Three pounds from your goal weight Debbie? Darn, that's fantastic!! I'm so jealous. Were you overweight at all before you got to this point or is this just the loss of a few pounds?

Yes Jackie, I was overweight. I was 186 pounds which at 5 foot 3 inches was a lot for me! I was sick and tired of my weight going up and down (mostly up) through the years. I'd say my top weight was probably 190. But my normal weight is around 130 and I'd been there 10 years before so I knew I could get there again. I have hypothyroid like I mentioned and that makes it tough to lose weight, tough but not impossible. I started 3 years ago. I did it all by diet-not a diet, but by changing the way I eat. First I cut out soda, then fast food, then processed foods as much as possible no longer shopping at Giant or Safeway, but switching instead to Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. I read the blog www.100daystorealfood.com and learned a ton such as how important it is to read the ingredients of a product not just believe what is written on the front. I was cooking more and more of our meals at home. By now I'd gotten down to 169. Then I happened to come across the documentary "Forks Over Knives" and DH watched it with me. We both decided to give a "plant based whole foods" diet a try. It's a vegan diet (no meat, no dairy) and we felt so good after the first initial 28 day trail period (this was back in February 2014) that we just kept going. I'm now down to 128. My physical therapist looked it up and said my goal weight should be 125 for my height of 5 foot 3 inches. So that's what I'm aiming for. I feel amazing and sometimes look down at my legs and stomach and wonder who's body this is. Today I have a physical with my doctor-woops, I have to go get ready and leave soon. It'll be interesting what the results will be. I had a blood test soon after we started. My cholesterol went from 229 to 187 just 2 months after starting the vegan diet. Now that it's been awhile I can't wait to see what the results will be of the new tests. I know exercise is very important and I do intend to start soon. I had surgery for a torn rotator cuff in June and have been going to physical therapy 3 times a week. Once I'm cleared for regular exercise I'll start that. But the results above were all obtained through a change in diet. Debbie in MD.

#1 No. #2 Hell No!!
I get really hangry if I don't eat regularly. I hate what they eat.
I know I wouldn't win the million so it totally would be worth it to me.
AND...I would really hate pooping in the jungle!!
DOUBLE AND...I shudder at the thought of having to wear a bathing suit!!

My friend worked at large Tech company in accounting. She worked with Lex from Survivor Africa. He was the one that had all the tattoos, and she always said he always had to wear a long sleeve shirt to cover all the tattoos while working. He was a super nice person and did a lot of charity work. He ended up quitting the corporate world and devoting his time to charitable endeavors. We did meet him once with Ethan, the soccer player form Survivor and a couple of other players. Lex took time to take pictures and sign autographs with every single person who came to the event. I think after, he had a lot of stomach and heath problems from the water and the diseases in Africa.
Could I be on Survivor?. Not a chance!

If I were on a tribe with Joe, Ethan, Colby, Amanda, etc. I would LOVE it! But I'd be stuck with Johnny Fairplay, Hantz, Abi, etc. and would go to prison for acts with the machete.

1. The closest I've come to knowing someone is with Pappy. He was a Superior Court judge in my area, and I voted for him several times. People in our area were all excited that he was on there. Soon after, though, his reputation was totally trashed by the discovery that he had been having an affair with one of the lawyers who had been in his courtroom. He resigned from being a judge, and many of those cases verdicts were thrown out and new trials had to be done. 2. No way in hell. I would never be able to due to my health, but I would never want to, for all the reasons listed previously! Outside? Bugs? Yucky food? Heat? All of it.
