This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

The Trick-Or-Treaters have finished for the night, it seems. So I am posting the new thread tonight. I'll start the month with a card I whipped up tonight for a friend's birthday. I also made her a little box and filled it with some of my greeting cards. It's too thick to scan and it's too dark to photograph. Gingham Butterfly by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

Good Sunday morning! I hope everyone enjoyed their extra hour of sleep! I did and I was really tired last night! I had Kellie and her Beau over for her birthday dinner. I made lasagna her favorite. We had Trick or Treat from 6-8 so we ate at 5. Some of the kids were so cute-you know those little ones! Today I am going to scrap hopefully! I went back & tried to start a page but was just too tired to be too creative. I saved what I started so can just pull it up and move forward. If anyone is interested there is a free card class over at Scrapbook.com. Here is a link linkActually there are a lot of free classes there if you are interested: linkWell I need to get moving! BBl!

I am a slow scrapper and don't scrap that often, so I would love to join in this challenge for November. I really want to get back into a routine of scrapping so I can get it done.

Welcome aboard! I'm Cindy and have been part of the Pokey's since I joined Two Peas and now a part of the Refugees! Do not worry if you do not get your four layouts done as we understand that life sometimes gets in the way. We just keep trying to encourage others to scrap.
I am a wife mom, and grandma. Scrapping is my favorite hobby even though I am behind! I think I am always behind. But I will get it done eventually. What is your name and tell us a little about yourself so we can get to know you.

Hi Cindy, thank you for the welcome. My name is Jennifer, and I am new to the Refugees site. I was never on the old 2 peas site. I am a wife and mom. I tend to rotate my hobbies a bit, because there are so many I enjoy, but my favorites are scrapbooking and knitting.

Hi Jennifer! I like crocheting also. I like to watch others knit as I don't know too much about it. I did some knitting when I was a kid but forget most of it. I think I can still knit and pearl but I get confused with increasing and decreasing. LOL Can't wait to see some of your creative pieces. You can take pics of your knitting and share it with us too. Kelly does drawing and shares with us. I did a layout tonight and will photograph it tomorrow and post it here with a link to the gallery. If you don't know how to post something or have questions just ask on iof us should be able to help you.
Going to get off for tonight.

Cindy, don't redo your layout. I think it's great. How fun that they got to appear on the Jumbotron and how great that you have photos! Welcome, Jennifer! ( southerngirl) We are happy to welcome you. We also want to see samples of your knitting as well as scrapping projects. We make Kelly ( kellyr21) show us her projects and art that she creates. It's our own little gallery on this thread. LOL I've been asked to do a bulletin board about children's poetry for our little Reading Area at school. Do you know how many years it has been since I had to make bulletin boards??? too many to count. It's been fun. I tried to put it up today, but the staples wouldn't hold so I will have to use a staple gun. My arthritic thumbs won't let me pull that handle, so DH is going to go in with me tomorrow and be my stapler! I'll try to remember to take a photo and do a page. I haven't scrapped my school experience at all. I can't photograph the children, but I can take a photo of the school. One more page to add to my list of Want to Do! Kelly, we are missing you!! Have a great week, Pokeys! I hope you each get a chance to scrap and post this week.

Hey ladies! I'm here. Happy November and hope the new month has been good for you all. I am still working on deco projects for my home. I can't wait to share when I get some stuff ready. I am using yellows, pinks and blues as my main colors. So it is going to be a fun and colorful space when I get through. I gotta continue thinking about my Christmas cards too. I saw some flowers at Michael's last night that might work nice on my cards so gotta think about that. Jennifer- WELCOME!!! I am Kelly and love playing around with different crafts too. I scrap, make cards, draw, paint and now into home deco and diy projects. Feel free to chat and share if you want. Oh, I am married and live in Cali. Hope to see around. Nylene- Thanks for the new thread! That card is soooo lovely and pretty. I just love the butterfly and the colors. Awesome! How is your bulletin board coming along? I know you and your special "staple helper" will do a great job for the kiddos. LOL1 Cindy- Hey there is a big game tonight and I hope your team does well. We will be watching. Glad to hear Kellie has a nice birthday and special dinner. She has a new beau? How cool is that! Happy for her and tell her I said hello.

Happy Sunday! It is a beautiful day and I hope you all are enjoying your day. There are lots of challenges and fun going on here. I haven't jumped in yet but maybe I will do one of the games. I need to take some more pics so I can scrap some more.
Maribeth- Good to see ya! I think you did a nice job on your layouts. The die cut with the name of each place is so pretty. You have quite a collection of these courthouses. About how many have you scraped?

Hi everyone! Hi Mary Ann and welcome to the Pokey Peas! I am Cindy, wife mom of 2 girls and grandmother of two-1 of each. I am a retired nurse and enjoying my time off! Please tell us a little about yourself and I hope you will share your art work with us. Boy do I have a mess going on here! I decided to get a closet organizers and install it before I made the clothing change to winter. Well we had to take the old shelf and pole out, then patch then paint so I spent last night on the couch as my bed is full of stuff. Bob is just about finished installing but then I have to figure out where I am going to put what! But I am sure I will love it when it is done! I have decided to set a limit of what I can store so I will be purging too!But I sure have not been able to scrap and I wanted to do some of the challenges. Maybe I will get a couple done before it is all over. Did you hear about the plane crash in Akron? Kellie was driving down the road & saw the plane but it had not crashed into the house yet. Our cloud ceiling was really low at that time of day so they are wondering if that was part of the cause of the crash. Okay I have to go help Bob with whatever so will be back later if the stuff in the bedroom sdoes not swallow me up!

Thanks for such a warm welcome, Kelly and Cindy. I'm married with two kids (a senior in HS and a senior in college). I live north of Boston, and I work as a science textbook writer and technical writer at home on my computer all day. The refugees are kind of my water cooler. I used to love to scrapbook, but I stopped about 8 years ago when my husband was really ill. It took about four years to figure out what he had and then treat it, and I didn't have any time or energy to scrap. I've just started getting back into it. I just got my disaster of a junk room cleared out and set up for scrapping, and the peas crop has been the first time I've done anything creative. I'm slow, but I hope to actually finish a couple of the challenges. It's rainy and dreary here today, so I'm set up in front of the fire with a blanket, a cat, a cup of coffee and my work!

Hey all! Today is a beautiful day. My dh was off yesterday and we had a fun day. Last weekend we stumbled upon this Japanese dollar store. It was so cool and fun we had to go back yesterday. They have lots of stuff like most dollar store but most items were $1.50. After two visits I still didn't see everything but I got a good idea. It is called Daiso. Then we went to the park and relaxed. Later I got back to M's and was so happy to use my 25% off total purchases along with all the great sales. So now I have enough stuff to get a few of the challenges done and my Christmas wreath. I will be going to the wreath class at M's on Saturday night so I am ready to create. Cindy- Oh boy, what a project you got going on over there. Hope you didn't get "shallowed up"! Is it all finished today? I know you will love it all when it is done. Maryann- So nice to meet you. What a cool job you have as a writer. How long have you been going this? Congrats on getting back into scrapping. That is so great!!! :)I think we have all lost our mojo at times and that's ok. I love flowing into other crafts and that is fun for me. So if I am now scrapping or card making I might be drawing and painting. This year, I have been learning how to sew and trying some home deco diy stuff. So this has been fun.

Hi Pokeys, I'd like to join in. This is my speed marybeth Your courthouse layouts are really pretty. Very clean and simple. Are they being done for a special album? What's the story behind that? Hi Maryann I don't think I am an "official" Pokey anymore, as I have not participated since the old 2Peas Board closed. But I would like to extend you a warm welcome, and let you know this is a GREAT place to hang out. Yes, my courthouse layouts are a part of a HUGE project. I want to make a page for every courthouse in American. I had wanted to actually go visit everyone, but a few years ago I realized that it is just not going to be possible for me to travel that extensively (there are 3,144 county courthouses). So rather than toss the entire dream away, I decided that I would try to get people from all over the country to take a photo of their county courthouse and send it to me to use on a scrapbook page. I provide a photo credit on my page if it is not my original work. I also take photos of every post office I run across, and places listed on the National Register of historic places. For those two projects i am limiting to the ones i actually am able to take (or have seen I will use a post card if I didn't photo it at the time). Can't wait to see some of your work.

Hi Kellie I don't have a current count, but I will let you know, I will be scrapping a lot the 21-29 as hubby is going to visit his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in Texas, but he said he won't take any courthouse photos for me :-( . I will be sure to take a count during that week as i am kinda curious myself as to how many i actually have completed.

Hi ladies- I had a busy day, getting a haircut and running a bunch of errands. I was a very bad dog momma today. I forgot she was outside when I left the house, and she was wandering the yard for 3 hours. It even started pouring rain before I got home. Poor thing, she was VERY happy when I pulled into the driveway.
I haven't had a chance to scrap today, but I'm hoping to do a little bit of stamping after dinner. Marybeth, your courthouse scrapbook is an incredibly cool idea! Let me know if you'd like me to photograph any in Essex County, MA. I've spent time waiting to be called for jury duty in pretty much all of them, although I never got to serve in any of them.
Kellli, my job is fun--my background is in engineering, but I love working on curriculum development. I love writing about science for kids. I work in middle school and high school books, and my kids' school even uses one of the books I worked on.

You would be my first from the State of Massachusetts. I bet your fur baby was VERY glad when you arrived home. She gets a little extra love tonight I think. Good Evening! Hope all is well with everyone. No I am not finished with my closet-still have some things to put away! I think I am going to love it though. We all know I do better when it is organized- I actually have not changed anything in my scrap room since I got those bookcases. I am hoping to scrap tonight but we shall see! I still have a few things on my bed I need to move so I can get in it later. Waving Hi to everyone! Kelly glad to hear you got to spend Veterans Day with your sweet Ron!
Maribeth we still consider you a Pokey. Our main mission is to encourage others to scrap a little! OK will be back!

Happy Friday! Wishing you all a very nice Friday. I worked on two layouts last night. I am not crazy about them yet but I will work on them today and see what happens. So today will be a full on craft day. I got to paint this initial "R" I got to add to my Christmas wreath. So I gotta have it ready for the class tomorrow. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Maryann- Sounds like you enjoy your writing work. And how cool is that, that your kids had your book in school. Maribeth- It is fun that you have a project like that. It will be interesting to see how many courthouses you collected so far. Cindy- Your closet is almost done and I know you are going to enjoy it. That's what I need is more space and oranzing options. So in my case, I need them not to add a close but a whole ROOM! LOL! I can't wait till I can have a nice spacious room for all my crafts.

I have a page for the Pokey Peas! I completed a few layouts this week, put together a copycat collection kit, and cleaned off my work table. Usually, pokey is just my speed, but I've pushed myself a little more so I could play along.
Here is a page from DD's high school album, junior year. She's now a college freshman, and I'd like to have the album finished when she comes home for the holidays. (Photos removed)

Happy Monday! It is getting cold out here and I am cool with that. LOL! I had so much fun at that Christmas wreath class at Michael's on Saturday. I learned (well sort of) how to make use that pretty mesh and how to make the bubbles. It was challenging to learn how to shape and twist but I think I got the hang of it. I wasn't able to finish in class but this week I will. Now, I love that mesh and I want to make a couple more wreaths! Welcome Bonnie and Oaksong! Great to see your layouts and I am going to the gallery to leave you both some cheers. Nice seeing and hope you visit us more when you can. Cindy- Thanks for sending me that Pinterest ornament idea. That was so cute and looks easy to make. Pinterest is amazing. They have so many ideas of stuff I would have never thought of. Love that place! How is your closet coming? Nylene- We miss you and hope you feel better soon! Hugs!!!
