Well, didn't get as much done today as I planned but still got some time. Tonight I am going shopping and hope to find more supplies for wreath making. I am hooked! I am almost done with the one I started on Saturday and refreshed an old one I had too. Can't wait to share with you all. Cindy- LOL! I am glad you are enjoying the Voice. That is just as fun as scrappin'. Oh good your closet is done. I know you are happy about that. Earlier I heard your Ohio Buckeyes are playing Michigan. Hope they win. I will be getting my Christmas pp out soon so start my cards. It will be December before I know it. Nylene- Oh poor doll! I hope you feel my hug I am sending and feel better soon. You are missed!

Actually Kelly Ohio State plays Michigan State this week-one of my favorite teams then Michigan next week! We always play Michigan last. They have Harbaugh as their coach this year. He gets angry at every call against them. He is going to hurt his neck the way he swings his head and knocks his headset off! LOL I knew when you made your first mesh wreath you would be addicted. I love making them and they look so pretty. I have my fall one on my back door so the weather doesn't ruin it. It is orange and bronze with a cute scarecrow sitting in the center! Post a pic of yours when it is done!

Cindy, that's beautiful. What a gorgeous wreath, I love it. Do you have one ready for Christmas? And Kelly, I'd love to see your new wreath, too. I don't think I'll get anything done until after Thanksgiving. My nephew is getting married this weekend. Then I'm taking DS to New Orleans to look at a college (Loyola) where he has a lesson scheduled with the clarinet professor. Then Thanksgiving. After that, I'm going to finish my mother's cards for her Christmas present. I have two more art journal backgrounds from the challenge, and I've been thinking about what I might do with them. My niece and nephews went to Clemson, LSU, and Auburn. And my daughter is at Georgia Tech. Somehow I think that football will be on the tv over the holiday. My college wasn't and isn't known for their football team. There isn't a stadium, although I hear that at least they have a couple bleachers set up now.

Happy Thursday! I did get to M's last night and got more mess and the wire wreath for another creation. Also, last night we passed by a local landmark, Taco Bell (fast food chain). The first and original building has been closed for a while and they will be moving it tonight to the corporate headquarters. The building was going to be demolished but the corporate folks I guess decided to save it and move it to there location. So it should be pretty neat to see it passing through the streets. It will be late tonight so we might just see it in our dreams. LOL!!! Cindy- Your wreath is beautiful!!! Oh I love the colors and the cute scarecrow. You were right! Once I got a taste of this mesh I am hooked. Now I want to make one for my mom and my mil. I went to the Dollar Tree and they had some nice Christmasy stuff I can add too. So fun! I hope your team does well. I always get those Michigan schools mixed up. LOL! Maryann- Good to see ya! Oh boy you are gonna be busy but a lot of it all sounds like fun. Have a great trip to NO. I went to Louisiana a few times years ago and I just remember how great the food was. So I hope you get some yummy meals and sweets while you are there.

Hi all, I thought I'd join you all, since I really am a pokey pea. Hope that's ok?
Cindy, your wreath is beautiful. Kelly, I'd love to see yours?
Mary Ann, why not use the aj backgrounds as more card backgrounds for your Mother. They were so gorgeous.
I'm working on a calendar swap. It was the one swap I did every year at 2Peas and now they have a couple of swap groups and the hostess still does this one. I'm hoping to be done this weekend. But with all of the layouts I accomplished at the crop, I'm anxious to do another one.

Happy Friday! I hope you all are having a nice day. Yesterday I started working with the new mesh wreath. That was so fun doing all mesh on the wire wreath. I want it to look similar to yours Cindy. I am still trying to figure out what embellies it needs but I hope to have it finished this weekend. I will share pics of everything, too. Lisa- Welcome to the Pokey Peas and glad you joined us. We've met already but here is a little about myself. I live in California, married and love making all types of arts and crafts. And it seems like this year I have been bouncing around even more. Your calendar swap sounds fun. I know after all the fun we had last week with NC15 I am still in the mood for another layout or so. Just gotta find a few more pics.

Kelly or Cindy, do you have preferred instructions for the wreaths? I really like Cindy's fall one - I could see it with burlap and a ribbon.
Kelly, thanks! I live in the northern mitten of Michigan and we're refurbishing a 100yr old house. In case you're wondering, I don't recommend doing this. lol. I mainly scrapbook, art journal and make cards. However, I do sew on occasion. I'm suppose to be working on a quilt and the baby is 2.5 yrs old now and is going to have a brother any day == sooo I really need to work on it.

Hi all! Welcome aboard Lisa and Maryann. Lisa to answer your question about the wreath I watched a video on You tube and then sat doing it and made it. Sorry to say I do not not remember which one. I can tell you it has 3 layers I put the orange on first on the inner ring of a one of the green metal wreath forms, then the outer ring . I then added the rust color to the center ring then added the scarecrow and bow. Hope that helps.

Cindy, thanks. I'll search youtube when I'm ready. I'm thinking a valentine one with burlap and cream and pink would be cute. I finished a layout yesterday. Yes, I should have been cleaning my house and preparing for Thanksgiving or getting the laundry caught up. But this was so much more fun. SOSNov31w by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr It was for the Scrap Our Stash challenge. It was a site I came across while prepping for the crop here. I bookmarked it to go back and play so I did there current sketch challenge and then there was a list of supplies on a bingo card and you could choose to use any of the items in a row, column or diagonally. I choose column I which was a paperclip, metal, doily, glitter, and journaling card.

Lisa- That is a cute lo you made. I love the strips and layers of pp you used together. I am headed over to leave you my cheers. So cute!

Hello to my Pokey Pea friends. I am sorry that I have been out of commission for 3 weeks. I caught a nasty bug that has really laid me out. I have been so dizzy that I couldn't sit up to do anything and couldn't read. My scraproom computer has not been touched since about the 7th of Nov. I feel like I lost a month! Today is the first day I have felt like the meds are beginning to work.
I noticed some new people who have joined us and I appreciate Kelly and Cindy's making you all welcome. I will go back and catch up on your wonderful layouts and projects, but it many take a few days. I feel so sad that I totally missed the Big Crop here on this site. I had several challenges I wanted to do.
I'm wishing you each a Happy Thanksgiving. Our kids were all with the in-laws or too far away to come home, so it was just Steve and me. It's probably a good thing because I couldn't do much. DH put in the turkey and peeled and mashed the potatoes. He's a keeper.
Be back later.

Oh Nylene I am so glad to see you back as that means you are doing a little better. I have 2 friends who had vertigo so bad they had to go to a physical therapist to learn exercises to help stop the dizziness. They both are doing well with what they were taught. Just go slow friend so you knock this out! Saw my cardiologist and they are having me start antiarrhythmia drugs. Other wise I will continue to get worse and go into permanent a fib and that means my body would not convert itself which it does now. Otherwise they have to convert you with a shock of the heart. So we are beginning with the most least potent of what is available and see how it goes.

Happy Turkey day! Waving hello to you all. Ron is bringing my mom over for dinner tonight and I know we will have a nice time. More football and food. LOL! Btw, I won a prize from our NC15 event and I got it yesterday! It was a box full of goodies. I got lots of rub-ons, tags, and twine. I know I will have fun playing around with all these supplies. Felt like an early Christmas gift. Nylene, soooooo glad to see you back! You were totally missed and sending you some hot tea and a hug. Yeah, continue to take it easy and slow. Cindy and I held the for down. LOL! I know you missed all the fun and the new members but I actually participated in the crop and even won a prize. Cindy- Hang in there!!! Sending you a hug too.

Cindy, thank you for the well wishes. I'm sorry you are still having afib problems. I hope you do well on the meds. That's not something you want to play around with. Hearts are pretty important!! I have tried the exercises that are used for vertigo, but my doctor says until the ears clear up, they won't do much good good. I do feel better, but I'm still disoriented and extremely tired. Thank you Cindy and Kelly for holding down the fort!! This post will be very disjointed, and I apologize. I have read a little, written a response, rested a little, read a little, written a response and rested a little. So the whole thing will be very disjointed, but so is my brain right now. Welcome maryannscraps! We are always happy to have new Pokeys join us. I love your comment about the Peas being your water cooler. What a great way to describe the relationships here! Your job and engineering background sound so cool. What a great field. I wish there had been more encouragement for women to look into these fields when I was growing up. But I'd still probably have chosen Elem. Ed. since my math skills aren't the best. Please feel free to scrap as much or as little as you have time for. Just share with us so we can enjoy your art. Good luck to your DS on choosing a college. That's a tense time for young people. And welcome, too, to oaksong! I love your layout you posted. The colors of those papers are so rich and pretty. I love the embossed paper. Did it come like that or did you emboss it? Beautiful scrapbook page. Beautiful photo. maribeth, you are definitely still a Pokey Pea. We claim you even if we haven't seen you for a while. I loved your Courthouse layouts and left some love in the gallery. Kelly, Angie did a lot of shopping at Daiso while she lived in Japan. She took us there to get some fun items when we visited. I loved that everything was so artistic. The Japanese do that soooo well. Cindy, I am so jealous of your cleaning out, organizing and beautiful closets. I need to totally declutter this house. Lying in bed looking at "stuff" for 3 weeks has made me really want to tackle it, but I can't do anything for more than 10 min. and then my head starts to spin. Your Fall wreath is gorgeous. Mine didn't turn out that nice. I need to come take lessons from you and Kelly. sbartist, Bonnie, so nice to "see" you again. I left you some love in the gallery. I love catching some of your artwork on scrapbook.com. Stop by here anytime. We are happy to have you share your work. LisaDV, it's so great to see you here on the Pokey thread. You always have such nice things to say. Welcome aboard. Tell me about your "calendar swap". I didn't know they even had that at 2peas. I didn't know you were in Michigan. My DSIL is from Saginaw. He keeps my computer running and I'd be lost without him and my sweet daughter. They are all in Michigan for Thanksgiving and it seems so weird not to have them dropping in. We want to see the quilt when you finish it. I left you some love on your layout. What a great design. I'm bookmarking it for using a 6x6 pad to replicate it. I hope some of this makes sense. I will plan to post a new December thread on Monday or Tuesday. This month ran away from me!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying their day! It was just the 4 of us since we can't travel with dd's health issues. DD is gluten, soy, dairy, and egg free (as well as legumes and green beans). She made an allergen free banana cream pie which tasted good, but I can't get over the texture - it's like slime. And I'm going to have to eat a whole piece tomorrow so as to not hurt her feelings. So trying to steal myself up for that. On a happier note, I'm awaiting the 2nd great nephew this month, my middle niece is now overdue on a baby boy delivery. They're evicting the baby tomorrow (scheduled delivery) unless she goes tonight.
Nylene, glad you're feeling a bit better, hopefully you've turned the corner and it's all healing from here.
Cindy, hope the meds work well for you. Did they say how long before they would know if they need to move on to more invasive measures?
I think I'm off to check the cyber deals, I'm debating going to JoAnn's tomorrow as they always have the best deals on fabrics day after Thanksgiving. But I don't think I really need anything.

Good evening everyone! I hope you all had a very nice Thanksgiving weekend. I also hope you ate pie first! LOL I cooked and was tired by the time I got it on the table. I am finally feeling like I have some energy today. The circle actually flips back and forth. Here are two views one of the card folded and then flipped open. get well flipit jpg by Cindy Blair, on Flickr Get well card by Cindy Blair, on Flickr Will be back in a little while!

I didn't mean to be MIA. I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! I wasn't very happy with my Thanksgiving. I worked which I was fine with. My nieces were going to be here but I was told they were leaving on Friday morning to go back to KC. I wasn't able to see them. I found out on Saturday they were here on Friday night and I could have seen them. No one let me know they weren't leaving till Saturday. I was disappointed my family didn't let me know this so I could see them. I have two exciting things to share!!! The first thing is I went to be evaluated for Lasik/PRK. I didn't qualify for Lasik I am a candidate for PRK! I don't have the surgery till January 15th. I am ready to get rid of my glasses and contacts! The second thing is my fiancé arrived on November 16th! I am having to adjust to having someone in the house all the time. It is going well. He has been helping around the house and having dinner ready for me before going to work. He is a good guy! We are hanging out at the Mudhouse this evening. I have to return to work tomorrow, I hope it is a good night!

Happy Monday and the end of November. Waving hi to everyone. We had a quiet weekend and I didn't go to any of the Black Friday/weekend shopping. I will be getting back to my many crafts this week. I got wreaths and curtains to finish. So I will post pics finally. LOL! Anyone scrapping this week? I still got the fever. Many I can find a nice picture I want to do. Cindy- Glad you are feeling better and what a fun card! Papercrafting is always good medicine. How did your teams do over the holiday? Ron was a sad sack after that Eagles loss. Jana- Great to see ya! Hey your "boo" is here!!!! I know you both are so happy the time finally came. So exciting you will be spending the holidays together. How is he adjusting to American life? Also, congrats on your upcoming "new" eyes. No glasses sounds heavenly. Go girl!

Good evening! Hoping everyone had a good weekend. I am starting to feel better since starting the new meds. Not as many palpitations and I do not feel as fatigued as I was. So hopefully we are headed in the right direction, Went for my ekg today and it was normal! Just thought I would share some good news for a change!
Jana good to hear from you! I hope all goes well with your eye surgery you are going to be a free woman-free from eye wear at least. Hope you and your fiance are getting to know one another on a a new level.
Kelly- my teams in college had a great Saturday We demolished Michigan and that Harbaugh is such a dramatic complainer. He gets so upset with every penalty called on his team. I mean come on there could be a holding call on every play! Looking forward to seeing your art projects?! oh and the Browns are playing tonight. We areplaying our rivals the Ravens
Nylene I have a feeling you are still not up to par. Hope you feel better soon. We miss you!
Ok gonna get off before I write a book!

Hi, Pokeys! Cindy, you are right, I'm not doing very well. I saw my doctor today AGAIN and she started me on steroids and will send me to an ENT if not considerably better on Monday. I am so tired of the headache, ear aches and dizziness.
The day before Thanksgiving, our 22 year old grandson had emergency gall bladder surgery and then Thanksgiving night Steve and I spent in the ER as he had kidney stones again. He still hasn't passed them, but he's not TERRIBLY miserable. Heavy-duty ibuprofen is keeping him comfortable and he hasn't had to use any of the narcotics since he left the hospital...but has some if he needs them!
I had about 2 and a half pretty good days that I could do things, read, get on the computer and then the bugs caught up with me again and I was not a bit better. I'm sorry I've been such a lousy hostess this month!
Cindy, I'm glad your meds are helping. It must be really disconcerting to suddenly have your heart racing and have no way to stop it. Hang in there, sweet lady. I love your cards. I have wanted to see one made. That die is calling to me.
Jana, I'm so glad to see you. Glad your fiance is here and things are going well. Do your family members like him? I'm sorry you missed your nieces. I remember when my college kids came home, they had so many people to see that many got skipped. I'm sure they didn't mean to make you sad.
I don't feel up to posting the Dec. thread tonight, but will probably do it tomorrow. Steve has his eye surgery tomorrow and then just comes home to sleep, so I should be able to do it then. Emily is home from her Thanksgiving travels and can help transport him. Thanks for hanging in there with me this month, everyone!

No problem Nylene We just want you to take care of YOU and get better. If I knew how to post the thread I would do it for you. When you recover you will have to send me the instructions and then if you are under the weather or on vacation I could help you out. I am beginning to think if it was not for bad Luck you would have none at all. Anyway all of you get better We are thinking of you and praying for you.

Nylene - Cindy is right, you need to take care of yourself. I can help out too if you need. I am on the board everyday Mon-Fri and most times on the weekend too. Although I have not been active with the Pokey's (I intend to change that) I am here, and would be glad to help in anyway I can.

Nylene, I hope you and the rest of your family are feeling better soon. If there's anything we can do to help, just ask. Sending healing prayers your way. I just got back from my week in New Orleans and came off the plane with a wicked nasty cold. I spent the last two days cyber shopping instead of working--I'm convinced it made my throat feel better. Cindy- that's awesome news!

Hi ladies! Hope you all are having a lovely day. It is just beautiful here today and I am sending you all some nice warm sunshine. I got some pictures of the first two wreaths I made and posted them on my blog. Christmas Wreaths I am still working on the other ones and hope to have them done by the weekend. Nylene- Poor baby!!!! I hope you keep taking it easy and let those lovely dgds and dds help you and spoil you. You deserve it. You know we can just keep this post going and make it Nov and Dec challenge. Just an idea. Long as we have a place to connect is good. Sending you a hug! Cindy- Man, that Brown's game ended so crazy. I hope they can get better next year. Have you finished all your Christmas cards? I hope to start mine soon. I want to go to M's to get a few more "dodads" for them. Maryann- Yes, shopping is great medicine. How was the wedding? I just love weddings. Maribeth- Hey there! Good to see ya too.
