We all have foods we don't like to eat. Myself there are foods that I don't like the taste of and then there is other foods that I don't like the feel of in my mouth.
Am I alone with this or are there others like me?

Well, I won't eat lima beans because they are icky when bitten into. If they are tiny I'll swallow them whole but otherwise I push them aside. I won't eat split pea soup because it seems gritty. Or lentils. Although I can manage to swallow lentils without chewing them.

I'm not a fan of soggy foods that feel like they have already been chewed for me.

I have things that while I don't mind the taste, I cannot stand the texture and therefore don't eat. shrimp, tomatoes (unless in very small diced pieces and mixed with other things), mushrooms, raspberries to name a few.

Texture very rarely bother me with the exception of mushrooms and oysters. 99 times out of 100, if there's something I don't like to eat it because of the taste.

I don't really have a texture problem, for me it's about taste.

I draw the line at bugs and balut. Everything else I'll try at least once. Taste is the key for me, not really texture.

Texture was really only an issue for me when I ate meat. Now that I'm a vegetarian, I can't really think of foods that I don't eat because of texture.

Texture is a bigger issue for me than taste. I love raw veggies, but can't handle most of them cooked. I also hate cheese, the dry texture really bothers me, but then again I don't eat cheddar melted either, so I guess that would be a texture + taste issue.

mushrooms = texture, taste, smell, everything!! Icky
Texture would be gelatinous type things -- cherry tomatoes, cooked eggplant, squash

But I could list a lot of foods I don't like because of the taste!!

more texture than taste for me. I like raw mushrooms, cooked are too rubbery.

I'm right there with you. Texture plays an important part in what I eat. I have things I love to eat mostly because of the texture and then taste.

The texture of yogurt makes me gag so I have to add crunchy stuff to it.

I seriously can't think of anything I won't eat because of the texture I'm not a picky eater at all so even taste isn't that big of a deal

The texture of yogurt makes me gag so I have to add crunchy stuff to it. I don't like the texture of regular yogurt, but I will eat whipped yogurt. I've always been a picky eater - not sure if it's always been about texture, though.

I don't like the texture of seafood (lobster, shrimp, crab)... I can eat crab if it's crab cakes, but no steamed crab, shrimp cocktail, lobster with butter, etc. I really dislike the mushiness of lobster and shrimp, not to mention I really don't like the smell of it. I also intensely dislike the overly-crisp texture of water chestnuts-- to me, it's like biting into a piece of Styrofoam in my stir-fry. Also, for me there are a number of things I either only like raw (like peas; cooked mushy peas- blech), or cooked (like mushrooms-- raw mushrooms- ick) due to the way the texture changes when cooked.

The only thing I can think of that I don't like because of texture are pears. I can't stand that grittiness.

Texture more than taste, though I am picky about most everything. I like the taste of strawberry but you will never see me eat one or jelly. Ick, just thinking about it akes me shudder right now.

I'm a taste over texture. Texture rarely bothers me, but taste will. No asparagus! Bleck!! I try to retry stuff every now and then, but asparagus loses every time. I recently retried cooked cabbage and liked it. Of course it was done with bacon, onions, and most likely lots of butter.

I think it's mostly texture with me. The fat on meat, or chicken skin, for example.
And quinoa reminds me of embryos in appearance, so I don't look at it too closely.

I don't mind the taste of mushrooms, so I will eat a mushroom sauce, but I will not eat an actual mushroom, because it feels weird in my mouth.
My brother is legally blind and there are a TON of things he won't eat due to texture.

I lost my sense of smell back in April (and, as such, most of my sense of taste), so texture is everything to me right now.

For me it's usually about taste. A couple of my kids have texture issues and it's frustrating trying to accommodate them.

I know a large part of taste is actually smell-- how did you lose your sense of smell, if you don't mind me asking-- sinus problems? and will it come back?? That's gotta suck!
