IDK what to say about this episode. lol
It had a little of everything. I had a good chuckle with Stephen reciting poetry. lol
I was not a fan of Savage the first time and I am not a fan now. I am shocked that no one thought to go for Jeremy or Savage. Why take out a non-threatening woman? Kass, even if she made it to the end would not have won due to no one actually liking her, IMO. Ciera must have thought she was really going home throwing that vote in for Savage.
I felt like tonight was the first time we've really even seen Keith at all. Kelly Wiggelsworth (I know I spelled that wrong) is basically invisible. Abi has not had any screen time in the last two episodes. Some of the editing has seemed odd to me. Usually by the merge we've seen and heard from everyone and they all have some type of story line. I feel like this time we have a lot of background people, and I know 13 is the biggest merge ever, but it's odd that we never hear from them, but yet see so much of Spencer.
Just a heads up if you read over at the Reddit Survivor subreddit, if you don't want to know boot order spoilers. There's a troll there PMing people the boot order when they say they don't want to know. I backed right out because although I like to discuss the episode as it happens I don't want to know any boot orders.

First, dogmafia, I am right there with you on Savage--didn't like him first time around and don't like him now. He's another one of those guys who expects that he gets to make all of the decisions, he's just this wonderful leader, and everyone better fall in line. He had the audacity to be angry with Kass and Siera lying to him (cursing, calling them liars, etc.) when he did the SAME THING to Spencer. He took Spencer aside and gave him this really warm and wonderful talk about how he was safe and he wanted to work with him. Spencer felt safe with Savage and thought he was a good guy. Meanwhile, Savage is going right back to his group and telling them to vote out Spencer. Savage, you don't get to be mad at people lying to you in this game unless you are one of those people who swear to play with honesty and actually do it (which I personally think is a stupid way to play, but whatever).
I'm not sure how I feel about this early merge. The tribe is so large and unwieldy. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out. I felt really sad for Spencer and Kelly because they were automatically put in the group with some of the crazies (Kass, Abi, and sort of Sierra). Savage is playing a very personal game. He wanted Sierra out because she made him mad. Great strategy Savage. I agree with Fishbach, why are they going after these smaller non-threatening women? Let's see if they change it up next week.
I am so worried about Spencer and Kelly Wentworth, since they are probably my two favorite players. I also like Jeremy and Joe but they have dropped down based on their association with Savage. I'm hoping to see some real shifting around of alliances, but we'll see.
Oh, and as far as why Kelly and Sierra voted the way they did, I'm sure they had some indication (maybe from Spencer) that he was going with the numbers and that they should vote for Kass. I felt bad for Spencer. I know he felt he owed Kass, which I get, but the truth is she wouldn't really have had his back for long. She and Sierra just wanted Woo out and saving Spencer was the way to make that happen.

I thought Sierra threw her vote at savage so she could say in the final two that she had never voted for an alliance .... Maybe?  So glad to see kas go. |

I was another one that was happy to see Kas go ugh she drove me nuts and if I was on an island I wouldn't want to spend my time with someone that was always stirring the pot like she was tonight.
I love that Tasha never backs down from anyone hope she goes far.
I had to laugh when Kas, Ciera, Kelly and hmm forget the 4th person tried to get Spencer to vote with them. I was thinking what is at all attractive about that other then putting a huge target on your head. They didn't have the numbers to get Tasha out all it would have done is made lines clearer in the sand and I don't think he needs to do that at this point especially when they don't have the numbers on their side.
I laughed at how Keith was fooling around in the background when Tasha and Kas had words in front of the other survivors at camp. Tonight was most we have seen of him this whole season and if there wasn't comps we wouldn't even see Kelly Wigglesworth at all lol. I was really hoping we would see more of her I really like her.

Anyway, the end outcome was fine with me because I don't like Kass now and didn't like her last time around. Ciera rode her mom's coat tails and then stabbed her in the back in blood vs water and she absolutely sucks at challenges so I hope she goes next. I don't like her gameplay either. Abi is a loose cannon. I'd rather see Savage win over any of those three bitches. Personally, I'd love Joe to win, but also like Jeremy, Tasha and Wigglesworth. |

I was disappointed to not find a Ponderosa clip on CBS' Survivor page. If anyone is able to find it, please post it. All they showed was a little clip from Kass "The Day After". That's not usually how they do it. Usually we get to see each juror arrive at Ponderosa and enjoy settling in. I hope they haven't decided to stop doing that! I'll cry. I'm hoping that they just didn't do it because it's not as interesting with the first person--it gets a lot better as we people continue to arrive and see how the juror members already there react to them. If you want to see Kass' day after confessional though, you can get to it here. I don't have the same dislike for her that other people do. I think she scrambled and tried to play as well as she could. She just doesn't across as warm and friendly as some of the other more likable players do. I also have a clip for Dalton's recap here if you'd like to read. I love that, in honor of Fishbach, he started it with a poem. Would I like to see Savage win over all of those "other bitches"? No, with the exception of Abi, I don't think I would. Guy really rubs me the wrong way. I think the last thing Savage needs is more fodder for his over-inflated ego. I don't want to see him get anywhere near the end. I was trying to remember part of why I disliked him so much and aside from what we've already seen this season, I think some of it had to do with how he acted at the reunion on his season. I think I might have to dig that up just so I can remember what bugged me so much about that. ETA: I just stumbled up on Kass' Ponderosa footage. Either I'm a blind goofball or CBS did NOT make this easy to find. In any case, it's here. Kass is definitely weird and a little full of herself, but she still made me laugh a couple times--especially the hairy armpit thing. I just remember that after Kass' season, I looked at her Facebook page and when I saw her photos and read her stuff, she seemed like a person I would actually like in real life. Part of me thinks she feels she has to fulfill this certain persona on Survivor. But who really knows? |

Do the jurors have an inside view to what is going on with the remaining survivors day by day, or do they only hear what info is spilled at TC each time, and what other jurists tell when they get to Ponderosa? I wasn't sorry to see Kass go. I've been watching previous seasons on Amazon Prime and just finished hers up. I did not like her at all during that season and I'm surprised nobody on this season referred to her as a goat, haha. She is pretty full of herself and seemed to really get into the 'Chaos Kass' nickname, as if it made her so cool. I just don't think she is. Would I like her as my lawyer? Probably so, as I think she'd be a bit ruthless, which is what you'd want in a lawyer but it just didn't serve her well on Survivor. I've never watched or even known about Ponderosa, so I'm glad jackie posted links. Thanks. |

I disliked Kass last time and even more this time. I don't think she is playing a persona at all, I thinks that's her. I think she has NPD and/or has psychopathic tendencies...by that I don't mean she's going to stab everyone while they sleep, but the definition of a psychopath includes:
Even referring to herself as Chaos Kas could be predictive of what she recognises in herself.
Remember last time when Spencer said something along the lines of "smartest women never to win Survivor"? he was right on the money, she can't contain who she really is and she genuinely thinks she is smarter than everyone else and will be able to talk her way out of anything.
However this is only second chance Survivor not "memory erased" Survivor. It was smart to get rid of her because she's a loose cannon, just like Abi.
She also doesn't seem to realise that manipulative bitches never win, they may get to the end, but they never win (i.e Lisa Whelchel, Dawn Meehan) They can cry all they want and point out all their strategic moves but it does no good, they never win. Nice, smart, strong, competitive women win. That's why Ciera would never win either.
I'm sure her jury question will be a major bitchfest.
ETA: Her smirking when Fishbach recited his poem really annoyed me too. Personally I'm not one for "God poems", but it was about weather and nature and kind of appropriate when they are just sitting there doing nothing....it's not like he stopped them from doing something else just to listen to his poetry. Plus damn impressive that he knows something like that off by heart, at least give him credit for that.
I think Ciera was smart enough to know that it was her or Kas on the way out, therefore she just gave her vote to the person she disliked the most.
While I think Savage is arrogant and eyeroll worthy, I don't hate his game play. Yes he went after Spencer, but for legitimate 'threat' reasons, he wasn't nasty or bitchy about it. I got the sense that he liked Spencer, I don't think he was lying about that, but Survivor isn't about keeping people you like so they can beat you. The aim is to get others out so you can win, that's fine, but Kas and Ciera lying and manipulating and creating nasty arguments at camp, that's the sort of game play I don't like. |

@happymomma, The jurors only get tribal council and stories/opinions from the other voted our jurors.
I've watched the Ponderosa videos forever - the first one is always a little slow since there is no interaction. I like it later when there are people waiting to greet the newcomer. They used to always do a scene of the jurors dressing for the next tribal counsel - I miss that.
Curious about Ciera's vote. I hope there will be a secret scene about it. It was almost like she wasn't sure where Spencer's vote was going, and she didn't want Tasha out. That big group that voted together is too big - that can't last long. I still think Kelley Wentworth goes deep into the game (based on her edit), so something has to switch around.
The first episode, it seemed like Jeff was going to Kelly Wigglesworth a lot, and she wasn't giving great responses. I'm guessing the editors just don't have anything at all to work with. That said, she is getting what I consider a 4th or 5th place edit - the same spot as Brett on Samoa - she is basically invisible, but she won't be voted out soon or go to the end. If you're going to be voted out soon, they need to work you into the story line, and if you're going to the end, they want the audience to know and like you.
The shot of Joe casually tossing his ball into his other hand at the end of the challenge was cute - left the impression that he was just hanging around and happened to find a ball to play with.

After Fishback and Jeremy were talking, I thought it was great that Jeremy said he wanted Joe there as long as possible because he didn't want to be the biggest guy out there. I like Jeremy so much and hope he's able to stick around. Kelly Wiglesworth reminds me so much of Jeff Lewis that I'm distracted by it. I was so excited to see her return, so it's disappointing to me that we never hear from her and that she seems to be out of every single loop. Savage I don't hate, but it's funny to see him knocked down a peg or two.  |

Kass, psychopathic tendencies? Hmmm...I supposed that's possible. I'm not that familiar with that so I can't say. She still had "zero chance to win Survivor" though so voted out now, voted out later, made no difference to me. It is funny thought that based on her Ponderosa footage she thinks because she was the first there and that she's a lawyer, she's going to control the whole jury. You are vastly overestimating your ability to influence Kass. I also agree that she's a loose cannon and if I was a player in this game, I would NEVER align myself long-term with her. Like Spencer, I would use her when I needed to, but that's it.
As far as the smirking when Fishbach read his poem though, she was definitely not the only one doing that--many did. And I have to say, if I had been there, I think I would have smirked a little too. I love Fishbach. Loved the season he played and he's always been one of my very favorite players--I liked him in the game and felt like I would like him in real life. But I am not impressed with him this season. I agree with Jeff in the Q&A, he's one person who is actually playing a WORSE game than he played his original season. I think he's trying way too hard and that's coming across. The poem, to ME, felt like an example of that. And I actually love poetry. I can just see Fishback prepping for this second chance season, memorizing that poem and waiting to pull it out at some point and show everyone how lovely and sensitive he is. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe someone will ask him about that in the post-game interviews.
FTR, I don't hate Savage. I just don't like him. And I agree that going after Spencer was game play and that he wasn't trying to be nasty. But when the girls went after Woo, that was game play too. So for Savage to say f*** them and call them liars and act so disgusted with them and above their gameplay seemed very hypocritical. He lied to someone who trusted him too. There is no difference. Again, I think he's just full of himself, is used to getting people to do what he says and is legitimately disgusted when they don't. I saw it on his initial season and this season. And I think he's humorless. If I'm remembering correctly, that's what stood out to me at the finale of his season. His complete lack of humor. I really do need to watch that reunion again. And yes, like him or dislike him, it IS always fun to see the people who are so smoothly confident that they are running everything, get knocked down a peg or too.
I think someone mentioned Wigglesworth. She is another one I loved from her season and am sorely disappointed this time around. Unlike Stephen, who's almost playing a little too frantically at times, Wigglesorth is like a non-entity. Her gameplay is as frozen as her surgically enhanced face. Very, very disappointed in her.
I'm still liking Spencer and the other Kelly (my favorites). But I also like Jeremy, Joe, Tasha, Keith (although he is also a bit useless).
It's always fun coming here to discuss Survivor (obviously you can tell I'm a little obsessed--it's definitely one of my very favorite shows). I enjoy reading everyone's thoughts, whether I agree with them or not.

Fishbach's first season he latched onto JT and rode his coattails the whole game. That's not gameplay that's just latching on to somebody else's game. Fishbach has to latch onto somebody because he can't win challenges by himself.
I don't mind Savage at all I think he's used to being in charge he is a partner in A law firm after all and his matter-of-fact, putting emotions aside is normal for him. yes he may rub people the wrong way but he's not unlikable. it seems that he has forged relationships with Spencer,Joe, Jeremy, and Fishbach and even some of the women. Savage let his emotions get in the way with Sierra and I think that's what fueled him. He was close to Sierra and he feels she betrayed him that's only natural. Sierra is no threat to anyone but she is dangerous if she can turn on a dime .
Kass has learned nothing since her first season. I find it funny she keeps mentioning second chances and changing, but she hasn't changed at all. She expects everyone else to change but she is OK to stay the same, that tells me that she is or has psychopathic tendencies . The way she spoke to Tasha and said "all you ldid was lie to me blah blah blah" is exactly the same game she played her first time around so how can she fault anybody else for not trusting her? I wouldn't trust her either.
Kelly wentworth bothers me. Never liked her first time. She whines So much. The way she talks is so blah. I don't like her much.
and Wigglesworth is just invisible this whole show I wonder if she's going to be the silent winner?

Therefore if she isn't being funny, or bitchy or scheming, then there's been more interesting people to focus on (by interesting I mean TV worthy, not necessarily interesting on their own merits, such as Abi). As for the psychopath thing, not all people with those personality traits are violent (it's just that we hear all about the violent ones), they can often be described as charming and loving and can be very successful in life. Top two psychopath jobs are lawyers & CEOs! |

Some even said they would have changed their vote had they known. Stephen was definitely not a coattail rider. He deliberately aligned with someone physically stronger than him but their gameplay, all of the decisions, side alliances, strategies--that was decided together. I thought Stephen was awesome. But, in the finale, JT, who is a charmer, ran away with the whole thing. No one could have beat that guy.
And Savage's likability is another thing we will have to agree to disagree on. I realize I'm in the minority on that and that's okay.

Just a couple of thoughts before I read Dalton and check out the Ponderosa footage.
I can't believe they merged at 13 and we are starting the jury already! So is it a final 3 with a 10 person jury or final 2 and 11 on the jury?
I'm not a Savage fan and thought his reaction to being "betrayed" was classic narcissistic behavior, where he can't consider others are also playing to win. He doesn't have a reflective bone in his body and heads straight into revenge mode. Remember in his first season he dictated the votes until the merge so this is new territory for him having to deal with being an outsider. He has always felt robbed because of the Outcast twist, but the bottom line is he got voted out that season because of his social game. Last night he was getting so twitchy when Kas became the target ahead of Ciera.
I am a Fishbach fan but he just can't find his place in this Second Chance season. I don't think he memorized the poem in hopes of using it. I mean, if I can still recite In Flanders Fields by John McCrae or If by Rudyard Kipling after learning them 4 decades ago, I don't think it is a reach that Stephen has a few poems memorized.
Where is Abi? All the Abi drama in the first few weeks and nothing for the last couple?!
Loved the way Tasha held her own last night and Jeremy is definitely on my favorites list. I still like Kelley Wentworth but she seems to be sitting on the outside.

I am soooo disappointed she made the jury though. I love Ponderosa footage - absolutely one of my favorite parts of Survivor until this morning. Ugh, smirky Kass, self-appointed status as Queen of Ponderosa, with her plans to control the jury made me want to cry in frustration. By next week I suspect she will be dropping Queen of Ponderosa and replacing it with Judge Kass. |

Personally, I'd love Joe to win, but also like Jeremy, Tasha and Wigglesworth.  I was thrilled Kass was voted out. Abi next then Ciera!! I love Tasha, Joe, Spencer and Keith. Keith cracks me up. He's so laid back.

Oh my gosh! I think I threw up in my mouth about 20 times while watching the Ponderosa video. Kass thinks she is the "Queen of Ponderosa"? She is so full of herself. I think she is a narcissistic. Everything is all about her and it is all wonderful. I have never seen someone come to Pondersosa being that happy about it. Very, very strange.I'm sorry I can't write more. It's agonizing with this connection.
