Ok.. what do we all think?
What patterned material did Tim get for Ashley? I don't think I saw it in her runway?

The winner will be announced momentarily, but Ashley's plus size collection was awful. I would not wear any of it.

Holy heck, the commercials!! I swear the show would be all of 10 minutes long if you took out the commercials.

I'm loving Edmund! He won in my opinion, but listening (Im a few minutes behind as I DVR'd it), but I think Ashley received the most kudos! And I disagree!
I thought the dress that Candice made for the big hoop......it was stunning. I'm so glad she took the hoop off!
Not my favorite season to be honest!

ROBBED #2 & # 3 were robbed!!!!!! Robbed I say.
BUT I am not surprised because the judges almost ALWAYS pick my least favorite collection to win. All but a few seasons.

Well.....I am a plus size woman and I wouldn't wear very much of what Ashley designed. It was nice to not see all black clothing, but still. It wasn't me, or what I think today's woman would wear!!
I liked Edmund. Toilet paper dress and all!

Up until the actual runway shows, I thought it was Edmund. I still love a lot of his pieces. But I don't think the judges were wrong. I thought Ashley's was the most cohesive and overall the best as a collection. I saw the spoiler pictures and wasn't crazy about it, but I thought it looked much better on the screen.
I would have loved a Kelly win, but I think, based on collection alone, Ashley was a valid choice. Glad this season is over though. It was just not good.
I tried hard not to watch the Project Runway Junior commercials because I'm trying to dump my cable, and only held on this long to see the end of this season. Does anyone know if I can watch Lifetime online? Hulu doesn't have it.

I'm also plus-sized and would never wear her stuff, not even when I was younger. I was hoping for a Kelley or Edmund win. I knew it wouldn't be Kelley based on their comments. I'm actually surprised she was in second. I felt so bad for Kelley; she seemed the most heartbroken.
Looking forward to reading the blogs tomorrow and especially seeing the reunion next week.

The girls, meaning Kelly and Candice seem tight. And I think Candice is bitter..... Or bitchy witchy as she said.... I think the reunion may be s cat fight!

Although I think Kelly should have won for her originality and artistic sense toward clothing, I've been thinking about the impact Ashley's collection may have for young plus-sized women. I do think we may see many more young women showing off their curves rather than disguising them, delighting in color rather than wearing blacks and grays, and feeling sexy at any size. So I hope that Ashley's win will accomplish a change in attitude, both on the part of those wearing the clothes and the general public.

Ok.. what do we all think?
What patterned material did Tim get for Ashley? I don't think I saw it in her runway? I don't think he got any. I think he just brought her zippers and possibly some dye. I can't imagine him picking out fabric for a designer, that seems like way too much influence over their design. Glitter, dye, and zippers, not so much. I'm sure there was a conversation we missed out on where it was decided that since Tim was going to Mood for them, Ashley would forego the patterend fabric. Which I'm pretty happy about, because other than lace, that girl sucks at patterns.

Well that was boring.
I think they all made 'clothes' I didn't see much fashion there, nothing really creative or new. Candace did some fairly basic leather dresses and the right ones looked well made, but it was a straight, black leather dress & black leggings in stretch fabric. The only one of hers I really liked was the first red and white dress, but I bet I could go shopping tomorrow and find something similar. Ashley made some nice pretty dresses. I do agree she has a great sense of colour, but I honestly doubt there will be many plus size women lining up for that purple number, it's basically granny panties with a sheer lace skirt over the top. I don't know any plus size women who are into "celebrating their curves" by having thm exposed for all to see and hanging out under tiny crop tops. Good in theory, but I doubt will sell many in reality.
I love Edmund, he seems like such a nice genuine guy, but he made lots of basic black dresses and one toilet paper dress. I think he actually makes clothes that lots of women will like and probably wear (who doesn't need a nice LBD?) but again they are everywhere and I thought for "fashion week" he needed something bigger and bolder and more creative.
I really like Kelly too, and I think she put a lot of work in, but it still looked like a bunch of cheap stretch fabric and glitter. I think Kelly would be much better as a stylist, I can imagine her working on a show like Sex and The City...that stylist was a bit crazy too, and she had some out there ideas, but those girls were always interesting to look at.
So even though I liked several of the designers I thought the final was boring & predictable and overall this was a dud of a season.
I'll be tuning in to watch the kids...I was feeling a bit lukewarm about it becaiuse of the "junior" tag, but seeing as they are mostly 15+ made me happier.

I did not feel that I saw one original idea. Some of those PR Juniors I've seen before on that other PR kids show where every week they had to create something out of that basic white dress. I saw at least 3 or 4 kids from that previous show. I think Kelly's collection was cohesive but OMG it was so retro. There was no new idea there and who really wants to revisit the 80's for fashion? It's too soon. Candace just remade 19th and early 20th century dresses in modern fabrics. Snooze. Edmund made beautiful fashionable clothes but I have seen half of his looks before. Ashley did nothing but take fashions that are tired and old for smaller people and make them in plus size and stuff her models into them. Anything based on 1950's Mexico is not going to be fashion forward, and those headpieces? Can you say 1960's Easter bonnet? I didn't really care who won. They were all mediocre.

Those granny panties are what's in. Have you seen Miley and katy perry lately?! Neither of those two exactly qualify as plus sized, AND they are celebrities to boot. Celebrities get to wear a lot of stuff that we regular women don't want to wear and/or shouldn't wear. I'm not about to start wearing nothing but nipple pasties in public either. Also neither of them are "fashionable". They do cheap, tacky plastic looks, so yeah, I'm not at all surprised that granny pants and lace skirts are right up their alley. It's quite different showing off the tops of your thighs when you are skinny. I'm not 'skinny' I'm what would be considered normal and like most normal women, I have some dimples on my thighs and a couple of stretch marks. I am certainly not going to be showing those off any time soon and I doubt most plus sized fashionable women are any different. They want to cover up any flaws, not have them out for everyone to see.

Should have been Edmond!
I loved his power fantasy dresses. He deserved to go there in his first show! The judges tried to put him in a box. No one deserves that.

Just hopping in this convo this morning and the thing I was going to add was-TOO MANY COMMERCIALS. But guess that's been covered. But seriously when you have a finale show and people are talking about the commercials, you know it was a snooze if a show. Least favorite season for sure. I felt that they chose Ashley based on principle. Like they wanted to prove how open minded they were. Whatever.
Oh, there were two models last night that stuck out to me. The first one that walked for Ashley-I honestly think I could've have walked the runway better. She was so heavy on her feet. And the other woman-totally blanking-maybe for Edumd-tall, African American. She was so tall and thin, she literally looked like a walking twig. Every time they showed her, I had to do a double take, she was so so thin.

Not happy with Ashley winning. I wouldn't want to wear any of the clothes she designed. With that said, I still love Edmond.

I think that was one of Candice's models. She had a model that was super thin who wore a little midriff/bustier type black top and red leather pants. At least I think that was Candice, now I'm starting to doubt myself and think it was Edmund! Anyway, I know who you're talking about and she was very, very thin.
I thought (and maybe they have little control over this) that Kelley's models should have done something more fun and funky than the regular model walk. I picture more of a Betsy Johnson runway type show for her clothing.

I'm going to get flamed for this, I'm sure, but want to qualify what I'm about to say with: I AM PLUS SIZED (I'm overweight by a good 40 pounds.)
I think Ashley won because they were hoping to appeal to another demographic. They knew her win would get the show more publicity ("wow - a designer for plus sizes won Project Runway!") I didn't love anyone's collection, but I think it was all about PR (public relations) and not PR (Project Runway.)
I think, based on the show, Edmund was probably the winner. I still didn't think Ashley's fit all that well - looked to me like shorts were riding up the model's thighs. I loved her use of color and lace and I loved the floral headpieces. But, really? That collection won Project Runway?

Does anyone know if I can watch Lifetime online? Hulu doesn't have it. I haven't read all of the comments yet, but this echoes what I think. I thought hers told a story the best. I think most plus women might not be comfortable showing their midriff, but I think there may be some who would be confident enough to. I loved the color and fun in her collection. My negative critique would be the shorts that rode up at the models inner thighs. It read much better to me watching on tv vs. in the links shared in previous discussions. I think Kelly was true to herself, but honestly, I was in high school during the 70's and that whole period in fashion (IMO) was a fashion don't. Hers wasn't a literal representation, but it was still too much of a flashback for me! Hollymolly, I think you should be able to watch through the lifetime app, as long as you don't have to log in with a cable provider. I ink one of the zillions of commercials mentioned watching there.
