If someone posted this on Facebook what would you think they meant.....
There is only one word to describe how I feeling right now.... that is shattered.

First thing that came to my mind was cheated on, too.

That could be so many things. I lost my job. My husband was cheating on me. A friend died. My kid got caught doing something bad. My car repairs are going to cost way more than I can afford. I just found out Santa Claus isn't real. My best friend was talking shit about me. My dog has a terminal illness.
So many things can leave us feeling shattered.

Something majorly rocked her world -- usually something about a marriage/spouse/kids etc. Or she found out something about someone very close to her that was not anything she ever could have expected. Or someone disappointed her to a very high level.
But if she is a normal drama queen, it could be anything from small to large. And I hate vaguebooking like this.

Either "I hate vague booking" or some form of attention whore.

Either "I hate vague booking" or some form of attention whore. I saw a meme once on a vaguebooking post that said something like "you spelled attention seeking whore wrong". It was pretty funny! My SIL is the ultimate vaguebooker. Super freaking irritating. I hid her posts because I can't deal with the drama.

Are they American?
Shattered means tired in some places. It also means drunk in some places.

OMG... I never thought of it as vague booking... I posted it.
I am cracking up.
Okay... waiting to hear more responses.

I used to think it meant something big, but now I know better. It could even mean someone hurt their feelings.

Are they American? Shattered means tired in some places. It also means drunk in some places. So by they... I mean me... I am an American but I spent 15 years living abroad in London and in Cayman a British protectorate. (So I just meant tired. Really really tired) I have cleared up what I meant.. because I was getting people praying for me. I just expected people to say.. drink wine get some sleep. I have now tried to bury the post. I feel bad.

So I am a vaguebooking attention whore... in the good ole USA.. and tried elsewhere in the world.
Really I am quite surprised.

So I am a vaguebooking attention whore... in the good ole USA.. and tried elsewhere in the world. Really I am quite surprised. Well, in all fairness, I've never known shattered to mean tired or exhausted. Maybe because that's what they say in other countries, people from those countries would know what you meant. If people didn't know your meaning of that word (like many of us here didn't) it would seem like vaguebooking or attention seeking. I'm guessing most of us who posted thought it meant 'devastated', because that is what we see the word shattered used for. Well, that and physically broken into a many tiny pieces, but if you were physically broken into that many pieces you probably wouldn't be typing. LOL

My guesses would be completely and utterly exhausted or completely and utterly heartbroken. Out of context it's hard to know.

I would have never guessed shattered could be tired. I would have associated knackered with that easier. To me shattered means devastated, like spouse cheating. It was vaguebooking attention whore-ish if you were using it in the devastated way, in a tired way it isn't.

What is knackered?
I never heard of shattered meaning anything but devastated. Interesting.

I would think tired. We say shattered or knackered when we are extra tired.

And I though knackered meant drunk. I learned two things on this thread.

I am very familiar with the use of the word "shattered" to mean drunk, but that's mainly in the UK. If I saw that on FB I would roll my eyes and think to myself "Another annoying vague-booker!", wonder briefly what major life-changing disaster had happened, then move on to the next post.
