I'd respond "you said 3 words." Only kidding! I think husband cheated or a friend betrayed her. Possibly a child did something very disappointing. Using one word like shattered is the definition of vaguebooking.

For me, it'd be sudden totally unexpected death or dh leaving me.
There was one girl I knew that would post extreme feelings to even the smallest crap.

Ok, I should have read the whole thread. It was an honest mistake. Now we all know shattered means more than 1 thing and can sing Kumbaya.

So I am a vaguebooking attention whore... in the good ole USA.. and tried elsewhere in the world. Really I am quite surprised. Yeah, I would have thought that too… maybe not a whore but just a little slutty. Love learning new things. Shattered to me sounds like you have to pick up the pieces. Perhaps you should clarify for your unknowing US friends.

When my BFF posted that on Facebook, it meant she'd just been told she had breast cancer.

I immediately thought of tired, worn out. But as well as being in Australia, I also have several friends who do triathalons and other strenuous exercise type events and they often use "absolutely shattered". Shattered can also be replaced with "buggered" also! And yes I realise that may sound awful to people elsewhere- it's definitely an Aussie slang word!!

And I though knackered meant drunk. I learned two things on this thread. You would be pissed. (not angry but drunk) and maybe even a little lairy.

Knackered that is a funny expression. I am going to start using it. I am Canadian but I originally would have thought you had something bad happen to you.
I am way past knackered. Off to bed.

Pissed = drunk Pissed off = angry I was a bit confused the first time I heard an American refer to themselves as being "pissed" but they were obviously NOT drunk!

Exhausted. Knackered... but that's my English husband's influence. I was going to say Knackered but I knew no one would know what that means and my prissy British friend would tell me off. I'm an American. I know what knackered means. But I have never heard shattered to mean tired. Sorry, but I would have filed you under attention seeking vaguebooker.

So does knackered mean schnockered?
I know the second word but not really the first, I would have made a correct guess, judging by definitions here.

I'm British...to me, shattered and knackered both = tired, exhausted.
Pissed off = angry
Schnockered isn't a word I've come across before!

That is the word a friend used when her daughter died, so I would think that something really tragic had happened.

First thing that comes to my mind is "Ugh, I hate it when people vague-book"

Sounds like someone that wants attention and to have everyone ask what is wrong. That annoys me, but I really only have one facebook friend that does this and I ignore her. She gets no response when she is vague.

I would have thought some little thing had gone wrong and they were exaggerating because I find most people don't vague book over big things. Rather they say, "I'm shattered. My mom died this afternoon" or "I'm shattered and really need your prayers, but things are too personal to post."
