I flew from Oakland to Burbank to see a taping of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon earlier this year. I flew out around 10am and was back home around 8pm in time to watch the show air at 11:30pm.

I've flown to Adelaide and Sydney for one day on business, but it sucks. Up at sparrow's fart and home quite late. I think it would be much better for fun though. Do it, and have a great time! I have flown from Glasgow to Paris several times for a day trip. It makes for a long day but was good fun, and I would totally do it again. I've also had a couple of day trips to Dublin from Glasgow. Go for it! Ah, the joys of living in Europe where you can FLY TO ANOTHER COUNTRY FOR A DAY TRIP!!!! I'm thinking about flying from Sydney to Melbourne for a haircut. I missed the $29 flights earlier this year, so I'm keeping an eye on it.

The closest in my family was last month when my son flew out of Denver at noon to attend a concert in LA and caught a flight home at 5am. I thought that was indulgent but you only live once. If you can afford it, do it.

I used to do it quite often when I worked for the airlines. A friend and I would often fly to a its to shop, have a meal, or hit up a museum/theme park, and then fly home.
If you can afford it and want to go... Do it and have fun!!

I'm thinking about flying from Sydney to Melbourne for a haircut. I missed the $29 flights earlier this year, so I'm keeping an eye on it. WHY?!?! Surely haircuts are not THAT expensive or the hairdressers not THAT bad that you have to fly to Melbourne for a haircut haha!! Although come to think of it, my old hairdresser moved to Sydney years ago, and I could easily buy a plane ticket to go see her for the extra I'm having to pay now. Mmmmmmm.......

How long is the flight? My dad lived 8hrs drive away so my sister and I used to fly out to see him for the day. We would leave at 8am, be there by 9 and then leave by 6pm.He had Alzheimers and Parkinsons so would get pretty sleepy by late afternoon so it worked well.
It was on a small 30 seater plane so easy to get on an off too. It meant we could visit him more regularly. If you can afford it and want to do it, why not? Life is short, enjoy it

When flights were $39 between Vegas and SoCal, we did day trip dates, and family days, all the time. We went to the beach, SD zoo, Balboa Park, and Disneyland. It's just not affordable anymore.
There may or may not have been a day recently, that a 49 year old, peri menopausal wife and mom lost her shit. She packed up her camera, Disneyland annual pass, and hopped on a plane. She may or may not have left a note for her DH of 28 years, and kids 17 & 13, that said I love you, but for today you can SUCK IT. I'll be home just after midnight <3 Mom
From what I've been told, DS was the first to notice my camera bag missing, which sent my DD into my closet to look at my shoes. She found my Sketchers Go Walks missing, and screamed CHECK THE DISNEYLAND DRAWER.. $100 SAYS HER PASS IS MISSING!!! They texted me that they knew where I was. I texted them a picture of the Mickey beignets I was enjoying for desert, at our favorite Disneyland restaurant. That hair flip day was long over due, and has brought a new dynamic to our family. It was more of a blessing than I could have ever imagined. Treat yourself to a special day! We all deserve it.

I have very curly hair. Do you know how hard it is to find someone who can cut it properly? The guy in Melbourne is apparently the guru of curly hair. At the moment he is booked out until January ...
