I watch this every year, and it always gives me a huge lump in my throat. Old soldiers especially get me every time.
On a lighter note, how much of a RBF does Samantha Cameron have?!

Me too, Lesley. I cry if elderly vets participate in a parade. I cried during my father's funeral because old vets he didn't even know participated in his military service. People probably thought I was sad he was gone so it served me well. I just thought it was so very kind of these unknown men to participate.

No, but I am seeing all kinds of pictures on twitter. It looks like I would be all teary eyed too.

The Chelsea Pensioners are coming on now, through a guard of schoolchildren. Would someone please get me a tissue?!

And one for me! There's just something about their humility and the obvious ongoing sadness from what they saw that gets me every time:cry:

I'm ashamed to say I have never watched it and am out at a fireworks party with my youngest, so won't see tonight either!

Watched the Albert Hall programme last night and was watching the service on and off at work this morning. It is on most tellies on the unit. Very moving.

We watched the main (11am your time) ceremony at the Cenotaph on Sky news. Chokes us up every time. My husband's late Dad served in the Royal Navy in WW2. So few white berets, representing the Arctic Convoys, left now. We will remember them.

My grandfather was RAF. It's an emotional time for my family.
