I have been away from scrapping for a while and was just working on a craft project in which I wanted to use some Heidi Swapp ghost snowflakes. I realized I don't have many left and wondered if it's possible to make my own using my craft robo (after I dust the cobwebs off it). Has anyone tried making their own ghost letters/shapes? How did you do it and what material did you use?

Absolutely. I use acetate sheets I get from work, but any type of transparency would work with either an electronic or manual die cutting machine. Easy peasy!

I haven't tried electronic die cutting. I have used transparency sheets with my big kick for layouts. They aren't as thick as the acetate sheet bought embellishments, but they looked ok on the layout. And I don't see why the electronic cutter wouldn't cut it. I think you can buy the thicker acetate sheets now too, since electronic cutting has really grown.

I do it all the time with the heavy acetate. I use my Big Shot or scissors - I trace my pattern on the acetate and cut out. The heavy sheets are available at Mile High Scrapbook, and there is 30% off for blog readers here .... coupon code refugee30 milehighscrapbook.com/products/clear-scraps-12x12-acrylic-sheet I haven't tried using wafer dies on it, not sure it would work, but if someone wants me to try that, just let me know and I will give it a shot. These sheets give a really cool look. I usually use them in mini book.

I save my packaging from dies, embossing folders, etc. You know the stronger stuff. I run it through my manual cutter all the time. You can cut transparencies with an electronic cutter. I have done different shapes over time. But I like my manual with the thicker stuff. Compares more to HS ghost shapes.
