Hello All!
Our show is on tonight!!! It feels like forever since it was preempted (sp?) last week by the CMAs. I didn't get a chance to watch those .... Did any of our stars make an appearance?
If I see previews for tonight, I'll try to get them posted here.
If not, don't forget to set your DVRs! ;-)

I was hoping Scarlett would get a bob or something. I think that would look cute on her. The pixie look is okay, but I'm not loving it.
I'm glad Juliette finally remembered what really happened and is getting help. Hopefully this will be her rock bottom. I felt so sorry for Layla but loved her performance. How cruel is it that Luke is keeping the truth from her. That's a terrible thing to do to a human being. He's crazy if he thinks that's going to stay secret. No way will Colt hold on to that secret--he's made that clear. Luke can't keep him sequestered away forever.
I knew Rayna would show up at the bar and was glad that she did. No big surprise there.
I feel so heartbroken for Avery.
Looks like next week we get to see more of Maddie behaving badly. I've about had it with that girl.

I don't care for Scarlet's hair or her attitude toward Gunnar. She really has no right to be jealous. I do believe Gunnar just decided to take the new girl to spite Scarlet though. Why don't they just get back together already!?!?
I knew Juliette would remember what happened, but I'm surprised she told someone. I figured she would keep it a secret and continue spiraling out of control. I'm glad she's getting help.
I hope Layla is eventually told the truth. I think Luke will tell her.
Will and Avery singing to Cadence was sweet. Maybe now that Juliette is getting help there's still hope for her and Avery.
Rayna and Deacon are boring me lol.

Explanation for Scarlett's new do. I like it way better than those tangled extensions.
Clare Bowen 2 hrs · Edited · Wanna know why I cut it all off? When I was four years old, I asked my mother; "Are there heaters in Heaven?" I had just been diagnosed with end stage nephroblastoma, after several visits to a GP who denied anything was wrong and dubbed my parents "paranoid." I'd overheard the doctors telling my family that the only hope of saving me, was an experimental treatment that might kill me anyway. But without it I had maybe two weeks left. The hospital was cold. I'd never felt air conditioning before. Life in the White Palace (Granddad’s nickname for hospital) meant I got to grow up surrounded by children just like me. We were mostly bald, all tubed, taped, bandaged up and stitched back together. We were all missing parts, some obvious like eyes or legs, others more hidden, like lungs and kidneys. Those who still could, tip-toed around like little fairies because chemotherapy had destroyed the muscles in our legs and it hurt to put our heels on the floor. But we were all together, so no one's appearance came into question. No one got laughed at or teased. We were all we knew. And then I got really lucky. I survived, my hair grew back and I got strong again. I look relatively normal on the outside, but on the inside, I am still the same stitched back together little creature, in a world where people are judged so harshly for the way they look. It has always been completely incomprehensible to me. How can people think there's time for that? I was really inspired when I heard a story about a little girl who said she couldn't be a princess because she didn't have long hair, and I wanted her, and others like her to know that's not what makes a princess, or a warrior, or a superhero. It's not what makes you beautiful either. It's your insides that count… even if you happen to be missing half of them. Every scar tells a story, every baldhead, every dark circle, every prosthetic limb, and every reflection in a mirror that you might not recognize anymore. Look deeper than skin, hair, nails, and lips. You are who you are in your bones. That is where you have the potential to shine the brightest from. It is where your true beautiful self lives. Thank you ABC network and particularly our creator, Callie Khouri for letting me change Scarlett's hair, and my team, family and friends for helping me make the decision. If it makes even one person think twice about judging another, then in some small way, the world is better. Self-esteem takes a lot longer to grow back than hair.

Not on the show, but "Layla" hosted the backstage going-ons I think Scarlett's haircut is cute on her and I think it is her way of maturing the character. I like the friendship between Will and Avery and how Will helps him with the baby. Maybe now that Juliette is getting help, there will be a chance for her and Avery...I like them together. Poor Layla, everyone just seems to brush her off.

I think the only way they can keep the show from going stale is bringing in new characters... new talent, I really think they need to do that.
I was glad we didn't have to see Rayna's whining kids last night. When I first started watching they were my favorites

I loved what Scarlett (Clare) wrote. That was beautiful. I had no idea she had been through that (gosh I can relate to that not being able to walk due to heel pain during chemo--brings back some hard memories). Knowing the whole story, I really appreciate her haircut. Also, I'm one of the few people that like Scarlett and find her adorable as a character.

I admit, I wasn't crazy about Scarlett's new hair-do, but I love what Claire had to say about it. I also loved what Scarlett sad on the show about donating her hair to locks of love.
I was surprised Juliette asked for help. I thought the writers would drag the story line out for at least another show. Also hate that Luke is setting such a bad example for his son. I hope the son goes to the police and tells his story.
Loved Layla's scenes this episode--especially the ones between her and Will. He is such a sweet person, it's heartbreaking to see what he has been going through with his family and career.

Do you think Juliette will be in "treatment" for awhile, since she's in treatment IRL?

Depends upon where they were in filming when Hayden went in for treatment.

I guess we fans should be careful what we wish for! So many of us wanted Deacon and Rayna together and now they are called boring. Guess the powers-that-be need to break them up again.

Do you think Juliette will be in "treatment" for awhile, since she's in treatment IRL? My understanding is that Nashville will be off for awhile in the new year with some other show in its spot. I'm not sure exactly when it resumes. I assume that part of the reason is so that Hayden Panettierre can have more time. I hope she gets the recovery time she needs to be there for her family and take on such a challenging storyline. Hayden is the best vocalist on the show IMO so I really want her back on for that reason as well.

There is usually a winter break and if I remember right last year, it was like late November to mid February ... Have you heard if it will be longer? whatever show goes on while it is off, I won't watch! I love my NASHVILLE! :-)

This show is getting stale. They need to bring in more characters and some new story lines. Skip the bratty teens, move on from Will's angst and have Rayna and Deacon do something besides fighting his demons. And for the love of all that is holy give Scarlette a story line where she can smile for awhile, I'm so damned tired of her cow-eyed crying All.The.Time.

The winter break is supposed to be longer this year but no word on how long it will be. American Crime is coming back; maybe it will be during the break since it runs a limited number of episodes with a different story each season. I didn't watch it last year; the subject matter looked pretty intense.
