As I'm making the switch from paper to digital, I'm feeling a little sad.
I'm excited to start the next faze of my scrapbooking, and I'm really looking forward to no messes, no space taken up in my small home, being able to scrap anywhere, and especially having nice thing photo books that are easy to handle rather than big bulky scrapbooks.
I'm selling off my traditional stuff with less sadness than I thought (freeing really as it leaves my house!, however, I'm feeling sad about the hobby itself.
It probably sounds weird, but I wonder where it will be in 10 years. Will traditional scrapbooking be considered a small quaint hobby of the past? Even though I'm no longer buying "stuff" I still stopped into Joann's just too see what was there. The sections for scrapbooking seem to be getting smaller everywhere! Any other former traditional scrapbookers feel the same way?

I still have a room full of stuff and I have purged bits now and again. I just have so much beautiful paper. Oh and with not having much latest and greatest I can't see being able to sell what I have either. Scrapbooking isn't that common in the UK so all the donate to hospitals etc I don't think anyone would know what to do with it.
I think in the future there will be even more ways to share memories digitally, voice recordings, slideshows, etc, as technology advances. Even digital scrapbooking as we know it now may seem old school.

I'm doing digital for hockey and lacrosse and haven't scrapped traditionally in a loooong time. But I can't let it go yet. I have a Disney book started and lots of supplies. I am working to get my whole life more organized and I plan to use up most everything, especially the empty cover sets and then I will consider making the switch. I love working with paper....

I'm doing a mixture of digital and traditional and I wouldn't sell a lot of my stuff because I'll use it for card making. I think things will continue to evolve in terms of technology but maybe there'll be a resurgence in 'old school' crafts like paper scrapping. One thing I do like about digital though is no mess and no bulky albums to store

It is the best decision I ever made. I get so much more done scrapping digitally. Me too. I purged all my paper scrapping supplies many years ago & have done digital ever since. I do not make fancy pages at all, but just keep it simple.
I do love seeing some of the digital kits & love that they can be used many times.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

I agree with Suzanne... I see a future of lots of creative and high-tech ways to save and share memories. I love the idea of embedding videos, sound or gifs into layouts, having slideshows and multi-media experiences to add to the magic. Years ago, 2Ps had a cool flash feature in their gallery, and I created several progressive layouts that seemed to magically move and change when they were on the screen. They eliminated it, and went to a simple slideshow format. I was sad to see that feature go, it was so fun to create something animated.

I do scrap much more often now that I scrap digitally but I didn't sell my stuff because I still use it for cards and for scraping with my sister.

I do mixed media, cards, traditional and digital. Plus I homeschool, so we use lots of crafty supplies and my stash for projects. Obviously, I won't be getting rid of my stash. But I do think more technological changes are in store. More and more I see people going to shutterfly books for their ease.

I probably do half and half and love my digital scrapping but I couldn't give up my paper and glue.
Like Suzanne most of my stuff is old fashioned too so wouldn't sell anyway.

I am doing both. I have been making special albums digitally and have done everyday with paper. Plus I do cards. There is still something for me to touch the paper and embellies that I have a hard time giving up. Also, for me, paper scrapping is a social event and I take both to crops.
