Other ideas added by other posters:
From RNKMom: Also punches, i.e. gather/overlap/layer/"bunch up" a lot of puched out leaves for a nice look. Fern leaves can be either layered or strung out in a line. They can face toward or away from each other and look nice both ways, especially when the curve is draped over a corner. Add glitter to the leaves (Can you tell I use leaves often?)
Border punches: Punch out the entire sheet, or just the mat around a photo, even if only one side of the mat. Then there's that type of MS punch that punches out both sides, creating a lovely strip that can be used as a border.
Instead of only brads in the center of flowers, fill those centers with either buttons or rhinestones.
From tmrsrpt: - add a banner (bunting, as shimelle calls it) - the latest and greatest sb'ing trend - add a cool tag from clothing or a tea bag or etc. - use real/every day ephemera (ticket stubs, brochures, maps, pressed pennies, etc).
From Meridy77:
add crepe paper (streamers) stamp a pattern over the top of silk flowers (before adhering to the page) machine stitch lace to the layout add rub-ons stamp your own personalized phrase on a piece of "twill" ribbon staples
From EllenPea: Cut something out of pattern paper and use it as an embellishment
From katyscrap: staples
From planosuep: "real" things - tickets; bibs from runs; paper tags from clothing, etc.
From mlamarre: use old shirts and t-shirts to create flowers as embellishments. Use iridescent medium to add shimer to a page, without losing the colour. Use pearl ex on the edges of flours to add more texture
From Scrappylassie: doodling
From Superscrapalicious: Use masks or use diecuts as mask and glimmer mist to embellish paper
From Paulan: 1) hidden journaling either behind a picture or another element. 2) With a "busy" picture or one with lots of people one easy way to add names is to take a piece of velum and trace the picture and then number the people and then have a list of who is who in the pic. This is a great exapmle of hidden journaling do it where you can "flip" the pic up to see the traced picure.
From rldelo: Make a wordle. (wordle.net)
From Fancynan: hand drawn doodles... I goof around drawing florals and paisley designs often. And you can hand marker or watercolor paint in them as well.
I loved the idea of punched circles lined up half under another paper to create the scalloped border look! Not often, but sometimes, cutting certain pictures into the mosaic squares is a fun technique. Layering certain embellishments, to give a 3-d look (ie, 2 of a sticker with part of top one pop-dotted up to give a dimensional look.
From Travelscrapper2: rocks - the stung kind that they use to make jewelry. I've used them quite a bit on LO's of my western travels.
From CindyMarch: A cut up credit card!
From 4dloveofscrap: print directly to your ribbon!
From 1happygirl: Use the orange mess bags oranges come in on a layout. I saw one where it had been painted and used on a layout with children in an amusement ride. Cute! Or use it as is on a fall page.

From Saycin86:
I found an old Deluxecuts Design Colorblocking idea book and they have a wonderful list in the back. From that I came up with some things I'm going to add to the original list.
adding brads or bead work or alpha beads charms hung on fibers around photos or tags or diecuts college embellishments Color copies as background borders or as panoramic photo Colored pencils, watercolor pencil designs cork or corrugated diecuts or matt crimped paper for title, background, torn edges doodling frames or triple matted photos glass pebbles glitter-glimmer mist hinges or other metal accents making memories paint on layout or on pictures as borders or outlines mulberry paper as accents or matts pearl accents poems or quotes polymer clay shapes pressed flowers, leaves raffia, ric rac, fibers, jute, tulle, twistle shadow boxes shaker boxes tiles vellum for journaling, matts, poems, or dietcuts wire, wire words
From TravelScrapper2: Have had too much time on my hands lately (been on bed rest since April) so I combined the lists in alphabetical order and added these items to it:
bead chain (keychain chain) beads bobby pins bottle caps bottles buckles calendar page clips conchos debossing eyelets feathers file folders floss game pieces hinges jewelry findings label holders leaf flake (gold leaf) leather library pockets markers mica flakes microscope slides quilling patches poems ric rac safety pins sand sea glass serendipity squares shaker boxes shells shrink plastic silk leaves slide mounts songs straight pins tape texture paste tiles transparency twill tape twine twist ties vellum washers washi tape watch crystals watch parts wood woven labels zipper pull zippers

Thanks for reposting this again. All I took with me from 2Peas were my badges and pea title, so I love to see threads like this reposted here. This is a very helpful resource. Thanks again!

Thank you, thank you! This is the best list. I forgot about it and wouldn't have thought to copy it from 2peas. Then one day I'd have been so mad at myself that I didn't have it. You are wonderful and so kind to share!!!!
