Heard it is happening in a lot of places right now. Ours is just getting started, and as I was just thinking about all the raking we'll have to do, almost on cue some major gusts started blowing all the leaves OFF our property & into the trees accross the street! Awesome! (Unless they come back). How's everyone holding up everywhere else?

I know the mountains I can see out of my windows will be getting 50+ mph winds around Noon today and after. They are under a wind advisory until Saturday. I am not sure what we will get here in the foothills but they did say any leaves remaining on our trees will probably fall. Oh dear!

I took the blower to my backyard yesterday. It was so clean and pretty. Now we have a couple of large limbs laying out there and the leaves from my neighbors tree is blowing off and landing in my backyard. It's suppose to be beautiful over the weekend, I understand. Will be getting the final cleanup done hopefully then. Just hope we do not lose power and have any damage and everyone is safe.

It was pretty awful here last night. By the time I got in at 8:30 this morning, we'd had several clients report damage to their houses and/or cars from falling tree limbs. Our dogs were losing their minds and barking at the offensive wind for disturbing their morning routine in the backyard. The Chicago Skyway bridge is closed in both directions due to the high winds and debris being tossed around on the road. The winds are nuts!

super windy here in west MI, gusts at 50mph but honestly it feels like constant gusts. waves at the piers/beaches are almost 20', we're taking the kids to watch them tonight (from a safe distance).

I still have time to work on him, though.

We've had up to 50 mph winds here. Not out of the norm for us Okies though. Lol. A neighbor's very large trampoline ended up 3 blocks away on another neighbor's roof! We have a few limbs down, but nothing major. It took care of the leaves for us though. Hope everyone else is doing okay!

Ah, see I am on the other end of that equation-- our yard is all cleaned up but the wind is bringing leaves from the empty house down the street making ours a mess again. I've been swearing in my head at those neighbors all day, moved out and didn't do a bit of yard work all fall, the boogers.
We had big thunderstorms and gushing rain last night, pretty weird for mid-November here. I'll take it over snow and ice any time though. Stay safe Refu-peas!!

High winds and heavy rain in the UK as well, and more expected overnight, and the seas are pretty rough.....some places have had weather warnings and flood warnings issued. We had a heavy rainstorm combined with high gales last night that caused a bit of damage to various places.

I wanted to do this but we have a band event to attend tonight. I've been watching the wind blow the branches on the tree in my front yard in both directions. Because people in my city are disgusting litterers, I have trash in my yard too. No limbs and we still have power. Hoping the power stays on. Is anyone else thinking this is similar to the storm that sank the Edmund Fitzgerald 40 years ago?

couldn't help thinking about the Edmund fitzgerald too, I hadn't seen the comparison at least in the 30 min of news I watch each morning.

The winds have arrived in Maryland this morning. I'm so far out the loop that I had no idea it was coming this way. I've heard worse but it's pretty impressive just the same. A reminder I need a free Saturday to do some winter prep. Constantly tied up away from home on Saturdays for the last two months...finally get a break next week.

my DS was chatting to me about midnight as he was doing a study session food run, don't worry he was definitely handsfree as his car is a manual. He said he was being pushed by the wind from one lane into the other in Rochester, NY.

I was in Bentonviikke, AR on Wed and Thur and it was crazy windy there. It was comical trying to find my rental car because the wind was whipping my hair all over the place, my hands were full of luggage, keys and paper work.
I came home to Seattle and it was crazy windy here last night too

It's been gusty here too 55 kmh/33 mph, but not too bad, for about 4 days. There was a high wind warning a few hours south of us. Our leaves are all long fallen off the trees and picked up. No snow yet and daytime temps above 0 C/32F and sunshine. As much as the wind is usually annoying with no snow and no windchill I am happy happy happy!

It has grown like crazy over the last 10 years. I play music on the square sometimes on Friday nights in the summer, lots of folks get together to jam. I'm assuming you were here on WM business....

just got home. trash bin had been out by the road, and was gone. not in the garage, not blown away anywhere we could see. called the company, apparently when it was up on the truck arm being dumped, a gust shook it loose and it fell into the truck, where it was instantly crushed. that's a first lol. so no trash bin for us for a couple days!

Very timely post. I was just waiting for the ferry and was watching helicopters flying in sideways to deal with the winds. Stay safe.

Nine tornados in Iowa on Wednesday......one just missed my aunt and uncle's neighborhood by the Des Moines Airport....it was crazy! Where I live, we got a ton of rain, some hail and terrible winds but I had "battened down the hatches" when I heard it was coming....everything that could move was either secured or brought into the garage.

The winds broke our snow fence. Unbelievable. The winds were so strong, they pushed the webbing against the zipties and the webbing broke. Thank god, there was no snow with that wind or we would have been in deep doo doo. Aka snow.
