Hubby can fend for himself My hubby does not speak this language. Sounds like it's mainly chicken night with the Peas tonight! We had chicken pesto, saute potatoes and steamed asparagus followed by bought chocolate trifle. We also had a buttered scone or two. I've never owned a food mixer in my life and suggested DH treat me to one for Christmas and my birthday which are close together, after I managed to warp and fuse together the lid and bowl of the food processor by leaving it by a hot pan. The mixer arrived the other day so Christmas came early and I played with it today for the first time and made sweet scones (your biscuits?). I am smitten. Hope you're ok akathy

I don't even know. Usually, I bring my oldest son to the Y for a workout but he's in a wheelchair and it's super windy with rain. It's just not fun moving him around in the rain. He usually gets fast food on Thursday night for dinner.
My youngest son text me to say that he and his friends were going to lazer tag after school and will probably grab a burger. He has Brazillian Jiu Jitzu tonight after he gets home. I deboned a chicken last night so I have the meat. I've had the bones in the crockpot making broth since last night. Added vegetables this afternoon. I could eat the chicken or cook some egg noodles to add to the soup.
Hmm.......

I'm joining the soup and sandwich crowd tonight. White bean and pasta soup with either grilled cheese or BLTs.

For the third and final night I am aiming to make:
Grilled Chicken Baked Potatoes Caesar Salad
I spent last evening in the ER with my son who was assaulted at work. After the ER and the Police department we made a quick stop to Red Robin for dinner. Oh no. I'm so sorry about your son. I'll look for your thread, too. lucyg, I'm afraid we're going to have to kick you out of the dinner threads. In fact, I've contacted the crap police and you're under arrest. bahahahaha. My only criticism to your post is that you didn't make enough for me. Sounds really good, fyi. As I say to the 6yo, "so funny, I forgot to laugh." I'll let you know how it turns out.

For those of you who missed it, AKathy's DD peaname has added an update to her thread (page 4) and she says AKathy is doing worse now.

No judgement here. I live in the real world too, where sometimes quick and easy is the best solution. I have a friend who is a food snob; that's ok, it's her "thing." Whenever I make a quick (and tasty) meal like piggy in a blanket or Stove Top stuffing, I raise my glass to her and think about what she's missing.

I don't want to hear a word about the cream o' crap soup AND stovetop stuffing all in one so-delicious meal. Congrats to the "kid" on his accomplishments!!
I am SERIOUSLY thinking about making Stovetop Stuffing for Thanksgiving!! I personally really like it! I have always made homemade stuffing with apples and little sausage balls, something I learned from Martha Stewart back in the day. I wonder if anyone will notice if I make stovetop instead!! Of course I will throw the boxes away in the outside trash so no one will see the packaging!!
I have a very picky MIL when it comes to food ... she is a real foodie ... we only serve Stove Top stuffing at Thanksgiving and Christmas and she loves it

We had pirogies with smoked sausage, sauteed onions and green beans. Chocolate chip cookies and coconut macroons for dessert. Super easy and fast dinner.

I stopped on the way home from the airport and picked up Noodles & Co's whole grain Tuscan linguine with shrimp.

My only criticism to your post is that you didn't make enough for me. Sounds really good, fyi. Just reporting back. I liked it fine. The 6yo did not. He didn't recognize stuffing as something familiar or that he'd be willing to let pass his lips. No sirree Bob. Instead of using a lb of frozen green beans, I used half a lb plus a handful of fresh baby carrots. Next time I would leave out the vegetables entirely and just cook them on the stove when we're ready to eat. I added them an hour or more after the chicken started, and the carrots were fine, but the green beans were totally wilted. oh, I also added some chopped onion and celery to the stuffing mix, and I only used half the water called for and it was still pretty moist.

gillyp enjoy your new food mixer - which one have you got to play with? The Kenwood Titanium Chef. A bit of a beast but having never had a mixer before and coveting one for years, I thought I'd go big!
