YAY! It's Friday!!!! Hopefully, that means some more scrap time because we won't be too wiped out from our day.
But it's also Friday the 13th! Do we have anyone who is superstitious?

I'm not superstitious about Friday the 13th. Generally I just know the day of the week and what month it is. Sad, I know.
I woke up extra early, made some tea, had a frantic search for the critter that the cat brought up to the living room (thought it was a bat by the squeak and then a mouse by the look once it got loose and when DH caught it - It was a mole!! A MOLE!) And it's snowing/raining today.
I have 3 challenges that I would definitely like to get started today, but it's 11:30 and I'm slow so I'll be lucky to finish one.

YAY Friday! I'm definitely not superstitious at all in any way. I'm quite torn between lazing about for a while and getting through my chores and errands quickly. I'd really like to finish up some layouts that need titles and/or journaling. I hate those half done projects lying around. Just the thought of them is making me not want to laze about. I should laze about after my work is done. It'll be so much more enjoyable, right?
What do you ladies have on your agenda for the day? Any scrapping?

Yay - Friday chat is up. I was getting worried.
Yes - I am superstitious - Friday the 13th - walking under ladders, and umbrella opening in the house, but i can step on cracks and black cats can cross my path.
I am not sure what this evening will bring. I don't think I am going to do my normal hour on the treadmill after work, I think I am going to bring some Christmas decoration boxes in from the shed so that I can start first thing in the morning. It will be slightly warmer this evening than it will be tomorrow morning so I will be more motivated to start early if some of the stuff is already in the house. Soooooooo........I may not scrap tonight, but I will give it a shot.

Elsabelle, it would be more enjoyable to laze after the work is done, but sometimes I get so overwhelmed be the work that I end up lazing to avoid it - or because there is so much I don't know where to start. As for our mighty hunter, we have an old farm house that we're living in as we are refurbishing(I don't recommend this to anyone). But our basement actually has dirt spots in more than 2 spots, and when they turned a closet into a bathroom they had to dig out a crawlspace to have access to the pipes and such so that is all dirt. So I'm sure the cat was hunting down in the basement. I'm just happy it wasn't a bat, which we've had several and I bought an electronic deterrent for and haven't had one since. knocking on wood now. Sorry, maribeth, that the thread was up so late. After the chase, I thought I'd sit on the couch and read my Bible. DH had awoken at 4ish so the fire was blazing and warm and I fell back asleep. I didn't wake up until 9. Then I was all groggy because I slept too much. Night before last I was up checking my phone every hour waiting for news of the newest family member, my great nephew Noah held out til 4pmish yesterday - still don't have exact time, but the photos of a clean Noah showed up at 5. So I'm sure that's way I fell asleep again. I've checked school work (the kids are actually finished except for checking their writing with Dad). Breakfast and lunch are out of the way. DH is making dinner, so the rest of the day and evening are mine to do as I please. So I think I'll start the die cut challenge, as I know which photo I'll be using with that nordic star die cut. Although I'll be doing the maribeth method of printing the photo on copy paper and replacing it when I go get my next batch printed.

Hi all, yay Friday!!! I spent some time painting backgrounds this morning, then had a trip to the dentist. Three hours later and my mouth is still numb! But at least my tooth doesn't hurt anymore. The dentist is near Michael's so I rewarded myself with a small Ott task lamp for a Christmas present ($28 with coupon.) I'm doing some writing this afternoon (I need to do some billable work in order to pay for my scrapping bills!) I'll be working on challenges tonight. LisaDV I have a hunter cat, too. She very nicely left a vole in my shoe last week. Good kitty!! I thanked her kindly for the gift.

maryannscraps you need a reward after a visit to the dentist! It's Saturday morning here and I have about an hour before I need to head off to my lss to shop their sale. My parents (who today have announced they're now staying all weekend) have gone to visit my brother so I will have the house to myself until lunchtime. So I'm going to drag myself away from these boards and try to finish one of the 4 (!) challenges I have half done on my desk.

maryannscraps, an Ott lamp is a great reward. Glad your tooth doesn't hurt and hoping your numbness goes away soon. And what a great cat to leave such a nice present for you! I just wish ours would kill them before letting them go. He still gets thanked. My DH got a live bird brought in from outside once when they were little and the bird was still alive - that would have been fun to see!

Happy Friday!!! Thanks Lisa for keeping these chats and challenges going all week. I started two layouts last night and I don't like them so far. LOL! So today I will revisit them to see what they need. Also, I wanted to revisit my art journaling page for the challenge. Maybe I will get all these things submitted by Sunday night. If not, it was still fun. Lisa- OMG a MOLE??? Wow! LOL! It reminds me of years ago I was having a b-day party and my cat ran in with a lizard.! I am so glad I saw her before the guest did or it would of been a screaming party! LOL! It's Saturday morning here and I have about an hour before I need to head off to my lss to shop their sale Karen- Have fun at the scrapping store. Are you looking to buy something special? I miss my favorite lss. They closed I think earlier this years or last year. It is too bad so many of them have closed The dentist is near Michael's so I rewarded myself with a small Ott task lamp for a Christmas present ($28 with coupon.) Hi Maryann!!! I am glad you treated yourself to Michaels as a reward for being a good girl at the dentist. Now that is my kind of reward too. Hope you are feeling better too.

That reminds me of the time my other cat brought in a live snake. My DS was home alone and is terrified of snakes. He was trying not to freak out (until it crawled down the heat vent.) Meanwhile, the cat had already gone hunting again and brought in a live woodpecker. The bird flew up into the high skylight and kept pooping up there (all over the skylight edges and the floor and the leather couch.) When I came home, DS still hadn't been able to get the bird out --- it was like 15 feet off the ground-- so we ended up having to call animal control to bring a really long net. I made DS clean up the mess. Stuff of legends in my house.

With all these animal stories I'm suddenly very grateful my cat only brings in mice (which she likes to eat under my bed in the middle of the night - yes, that's as gross as you think it is) and the very occasional bird. Karen- Have fun at the scrapping store. Are you looking to buy something special? I miss my favorite lss. They closed I think earlier this years or last year. It is too bad so many of them have closed Nothing in particular but they have a big sale twice a year which I always go to. They are not a latest and greatest kind of store, I think the bulk of their customers are more the "we went camping so I need paper with a picture of a tent on it and some tent themed stickers as well" (not that I have anything against that - I love a good themed product). The whole store is laid out by theme with one bay of papers that are the newest. I buy most of my new stuff online but always manage to pick up some things I've overlooked on first release or old favourites that I have used and wished I had more. I used to have 3 or 4 stores near me but I think this is now the only one left of this side of the city so I try to support them. Today's purchases included some Christmas papers from Cocoa Vanilla, Oct Afternoon and Shimelle, some basic polka dots from Jillibean, some of the Dots and Stripes basics from EP, the 1980's date stamp from OA which I have lusted after forever but never been able to find, and then some colour printed wood veneer cards and flags from BG RSVP which I got for a couple of dollars each (and which I would never have paid the $7.95 RRP here for).

No scrapping for me today. I had to go finish shopping for my sister's birthday gift earlier today since it has to be mailed on Monday, and once DD got home from school we had to run to Target to get a birthday present for a kid in her class whose party is tomorrow afternoon. So that stuff needs to get wrapped tonight and I need to stamp a quick card for DD to color and sign to give to her friend. That's probably the extent of what I'll be working on this weekend!

I worked late and too tired to do anything tonight. Maybe tomorrow I can work on at least another challenge.

Chinagirl828 sounds like a good haul. I ended up searching for the cord to my old sewing machine which is reserved just for paper use now without finding it. So I turned the wheel manually to make stitching holes in some pieces. I thought about breaking out a needle and thread to actually sew them, but that ended up seeming like work. I did cut out the nordic star sweater cut file from challenge 4 to use on a layout and researched how I might be able to trasnfer the design. Everything showed vinyl transfers and not paper. Hoping that press and seal works as well on paper. Then I ended up watching 3 episdodes of Arrow with the family. (We just started watching them.) I really want to stay up and work on my layout since I didn't get anything really accomplished today. But part of me isn't in the mood either. I still need to mull over what I'm going to do on the first and weeding out the design seems like work again and not play. Settled, off to bed for me. I have 2 more days. Tomorrow DH should be all hands on deck with the kids to give me time (well, a girl can dream).
