....you go to Starbucks and they don't have coffee. That really happened. Their brewer wasn't working so they had no regular coffee. They offered me an espresso based drink that was "very close" to their other coffee. So I got one. In the anti-Christmas red cup. And it was delicious.

Sounds like you got an Americano, which is good.

I wondered for a quick second if it was a Friday the 13th prank or something. LOLOL No prank, no coffee. But yes, they gave me an Americano...and at the same price as the regular coffee.

LOL. That would be like going to Noodles and they were out of pasta. Glad that it worked out ok and you got the chance to try something new AND wasn't disappointed.
This reminded me that my husband went to Duncan Donuts a few weeks ago, on free coffee day of all days, and they were out of donuts. WTH??? They gave him the free cup of the coffee.

That is bad! I worked at Burger King in high school. It was attached to a gas station and smaller. They had less items and it was a newer type of setup in the area. "You don't have ice cream!" "No fish sandwiches!...."

I came home with Starbucks the other night and my husband said, "I see you have the Demon Cup!" There are lots of delicious drinks at Starbucks that aren't coffee-based--glad they were able to make you something good. I would have been surprised, too!

I was in the drive-through of an Arby's years ago and saw a bunch of cars pull up to the speaker, then pull away. When it was my turn at the speaker, I asked what the deal was. They were out of roast beef!

I usually order just regular ol' coffee. Occasionally I'll get a frappucino or hot chocolate or iced tea but mostly just coffee.

I've been to KFC multiple times and have been told they were out of fried chicken and would not be making any more for the night.
I totally get that if it's close to closing, but once it was around 6 and the two other times it was around 8 on a Friday where they were open until 11 or 12. Just pure laziness. They weren't out of chicken, they just weren't going to fry anymore.

We were at a local restaurant once that was out of ketchup in spite of having a menu full of items people would want ketchup on. Of course, they didn't bother to tell us until after they served us hamburgers and french fries.

I was at McDonald's one time and they were out of diet coke. So they ran over to Publix and cleared them out of all the two litters they had. (Funnily enough, I was on my way to Publix and they really had cleaned them out-there wasn't a diet coke to be found in the whole store. LOL) Since McDonald's Diet Coke is like the nectar of the gods, I was SO disappointed and those plastic bottle diet cokes just don't make the cut compared to the fountain drink. I could have poured my own drink.
