Dear co-worker: When you are waiting for me to finish updating a file for your review, give me a frickin' minute to actually finish up what I'm doing before you start opening files, moving files, and start complaining that things aren't where they're suppose to be. No wonder...I was in the midst of doing it. When you ask me to tell you to let you know when I'm done, for the love of Pete, WAIT UNTIL I SAY I'M DONE!
I work with the biggest nick picker on the face of the earth. 90% of the time, it wouldn't even be an issue if he'd just hold his damn horses for 10 minutes.

Once again, ex doesn't show up for a performance. Sad part was this was local. He was "coming down with something." Right. More like the gf was closing and he started drinking. Save for a couple football game halftimes, ex has not seen ds's entire show. Now he won't. Season's over. DS will remember that dh, my parents and I showed up. Ex's family can't be bothered if it's for not the star athlete. I'm pissed at ex for disappointing his son yet again.

SIL bought a book of random facts for ds10 at book fair. I appreciate her thinking of him. He loves it. He keeps reading it. Out loud. At a rapid pace. Every random fact. He followed me into the other room, sat on my lap and proceeded to read more to me. I love him. I love that he loves to read. I love that he wants to interact with me. But my ears hurt. LOL

Oh I had news today. I saw my GP and I said my hand is killing me (the stupid broken one I need to eat and write with). She said, "Oh this is the first winter after the break and it is going to hurt often and a lot". I looked at her like she had 3 heads. I seriously gave her the side eye. "you're kidding, right?" and she said, "No, with the damp wet weather it is going to hurt a lot."
No. No. No. No. No. I am not dealing with MORE hand pain. I just am not. Every morning at 3 am I wake up with it swollen and hurting. I can't deal with a sore left hand. I just can't. Everything else I am dealing with. Pain NO.

Dear school nurse....next time you are called to a classroom for my 12 year old dd who is in the midst of a sudden onset worst asthma attack she's ever had...do not dismiss her and promptly send her back to class WITHOUT CONTACTING ME. She could have passed out in the hallway and no one would have known. My poor dd started texting me for help. I got to the school and immediately got her to a walk in clinic (quickest way for her to be seen). I called the school this am and asked if that was normal protocol as and the front office person was so alarmed that she had the principal immediately call me back.
She's ok now but to hear her not even able to get out "mommy" bc she couldn't breathe terrified me. Anyone could see that she was in an emergency situation...except the nurse obviously.

to my not-so-dear 16 year old pain-in-the-butt dd - when you can quite obviously see that i came home from work way over tired & super cranky, now would NOT be the time to continuously bug me to drive you to a party 20 minutes away, as well as expecting me to pick you up again at 1am, and then throw a hissy fit when I keep saying NO. Like seriously, are you new? have you not met me before? this will get you NOWHERE!!! I hope you enjoy staying home next weekend too.
And to my definitely-in-the-doghouse dh - when you see this happening do NOT under ANY circumstances tell her that its ok with you, she just needs to convince me. And then don't act like you have no idea why I'm pissed off with you for the rest of the night!!!

I feel like such a loser. I go to my friends' parties for jamberry, scentsy, 31 etc. I decided to host a facebook party for a clothing company that I just love. I wear their clothes all the time and my friends say they love them. I had two, TWO!, friends accept the invite. I am so sad. I see other people host these parties and tons of people come...why not me? I feel like I'm back in high school.  I was hoping to earn some hostess rewards too...not going to happen. The consultant added some of her friends and customers to help me out, but I've sold only 3 items. I have to sell at least 10 to get anything. I'm just mad at myself for thinking that it would go differently. I know it's just a sales party and don't expect them all to come and buy stuff, but it doesn't make me feel any less loser-like. <sigh> |

Are we related? Horrible isn't it? One friend you can not buy anything for her, because the first warm day of spring she has a rummage sale and gets rid of everything. She hates the Christmas tree, and complains there too much food. Then the people you invite for meals. OMG if you aren't going to eat then stay home. Don't get me started on the creative cooks. Bread without sugar or salt is not good. Barbecue seasoning on veggies is gross. When I said ham I meant a real ham not that flesh colored jiggly mass that you stuck 3 thousand cloves into. ( it was a creative pattern though. |

We have cut back on holiday decorating and baking and eating? Why? We all got fat. Also we had to put it all away. Normally Christmas carols start on November 1st. Baking starts in mid November with a light fruit cake (it is goooooooood! I mean really good!) And there's the florentines, mince tarts, butter tarts, Mexican wedding cakes, rum balls, and biscotti and then amassing chocolate for Christmas day (that takes a few days to get organized). Shopping because it's our national pastime and we take it seriously. Then decorating the house and the yard. The lights on the house, reindeer in the garden. (They were replaced last year). We used to have 2 trees. Now we are down to one. DS used to have a tree in his room too so technically we were never really down to one). DS got the Lego advent calendar for his birthday (and money) in October so I was shopping even earlier than that!
The food that we consume though. I am not talking Kraft Dinner. And the parties and dinners out. And the annual Mom's Birthday Party which is a cocktail party we have between Christmas and New Year's. Then there's New Year's. And Epiphany which we also celebrated in the past with what? MORE FOOD. It's Ukrainian Christmas that day and we will eat something special that night, too.
This year all bets are off with Mom sick. We will take Christmas to her.
Our family celebrates Christmas in a big way. I don't believe in the "magic" of it, but I sure as heck will make it great for everyone else who does want to celebrate it.
We, too, get the comments why do you do so much? Mostly to keep Mom happy and it's worth it.

I'm glad she is okay now but as a Mum with an asthmatic child I would have been super pissed in your situation. Your comment about not being able to speak took me back to a hospital bedside watching my daughter struggling to breath. ((hugs)) Not trying to alarm you but there was a case here in the UK a few years ago and a boy died from an asthma attack because of inaction by school staff. The subsquent inquiry lead to reviews of practices, I know the Head spoke to you but I would follow up next week to ask what was been put in place/changed to prevent a similar response by staff. |

Nope, not going to feel sorry for you because you needed to be two places at once ... a fancy boutique and travel agency.

I've been your daughter before, only I was in the ER at the hospital. I would be setting up a meeting with all staff from the nurse's office, main office, the principal and your daughter's teacher. Obviously, and thankfully, you won't be able to show them what a full blown asthma attack is, but you need to emphasis just how deadly an asthma attack is. And, that they need to err on the side of caution by contacting you every time. You are the one who knows your daughter best and you will decide whether she stays in school or not. The longer the attack goes on, the more carbon dioxide fills the lungs and restricts how much oxygen gets to the lung. Does the nurses office have a peak flow meter? If not, I would supply them with one and demonstrate how to use it and have your daughter blow it to show them what it's like when she can breath and mark it at the lowest point (which I would put well above where the danger point is). So glad your daughter was able to contact you. |

Dearest DIL, if I do you the favor of picking you up from work at the grocery store where you work, the least you could do is help me load the groceries into the car instead of standing there watching me. Oh and it wouldn't kill you to help me carry them into the house as well since you will be helping to eat them.

I finally have a chance to scrapbook all day at a crop, but what did I do last night? Stayed up watching Bridget Jones with DS, then instead of going to sleep I decided to finish a book I had no business picking up at 1 am. Now I am screwed all day with 5 hours sleep and no chance to nap. I did it to myself.
And I ate THREE Panera cinnamon sugar bagels with Honey Walnut cream cheese in one 15 hour period as though I have no self control or sense. But every bite was scrumptious.

Thank you for the replies...I have no idea how to do multiple quotes so I will do my best without. She was diagnosed at 9 months old and it seems when the weather flips back and forth is when it hits suddenly. Being in Tn we can get 3 seasons a week lol. Dd is almost 13 and I told her next time it happens and her inhaler didn't help to hand her teacher/friend/who ever is closest her phone with my # pulled up to call me for help. I'll be driving before the nurse is notified. Her teachers all know and keep an eye on her so her calling suddenly will be ok. We have a new principal this year thankfully and he has made a lot of positive changes already so I'm confident this will be handled quickly. As for the nurse...I've never had an issue with her before and after Thursday I don't feel I will again. I will definitely follow up on this next week though  |

I would have them call 911 first and you second. You can always disregard EMS or refuse service if it's not needed, but that would at least get her the emergency help she needs, especially if she's at the point where she can't talk.
And I would definitely be having that meeting with school officials. With a copy of doctor's note outlining what could have happened and what steps should have been taken for each in attendance.
I'm so sorry for your daughter. When you can't breathe, nothing else matters.
