How is it going? Do you like it? Is it easy to adjust to? I have had the ability to update for a few months, but haven't jumped in yet. I am looking at magazine that is the ultimate guide to Windows 10. I would like some real live reviews from the peas please.

I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 about month or so ago. I haven't had any problems yet and I don't have the hate that some people seem to. I'm not using some of the newer things they included because I don't need to. I don't find it that much different from 7 for what I need.

I upgraded pretty soon after the release.
I have an HP laptop. The problem I have (and most other HP laptop owners that did the upgrade) is that now when I close the lid, then re-open, the computer doesn't wake up. I have to do a hard shutdown & re-start. I talked with the geek squad at Best Buy and apparently HP is supposed to put out a patch for that but I have yet to see it.
It is VERY irritating.

I read too many posts here and on other sites where people were having endless problems with their HP laptops. Since I have all HP products I decided to stick with 8. I've actually gotten along really well with 8 and never had any problems with it anyway.

I upgraded quite some time ago. I have an HP laptop, but luckily haven't had any issues. The only thing I don't like about it is that an ad will pop up from time to time trying to get me to upgrade my Office Suite and it often prompts me to start using Microsoft Edge, but I just give it a click and it goes away.

I intend looking further into what's new at some point but it's fine as far as I'm concerned. I have encountered just one problem which is a niggle more than anything else. When I log on the system freezes so I have to reboot. This happens every time. I was told it's because I had live tiles on but turning them off didn't change anything. Like I say, it's just a niggle and I've found no problems other than that.

I upgraded to 10 and then went back to 7 when it wasn't compatible with my son's much loved Minecraft.

It attempted murder on my somewhat elderly HP desktop. It wouldn't even let me do a restore, I had to completely go back to factory settings. I already had everything important on my external HD so it really wasn't an issue, but it could have been.
I don't know why I thought allowing the update would be an even remotely good idea.

I bought a new laptop this summer that came with Windows 8.1, which I hated. But it worked. I upgraded to Windows 10 in early July, and I had a lot of buggy issues. I really like 10 much better than either 7 or 8.1. Microsoft should have waited a bit to release it though. It was a tough couple weeks there and I was under a tight deadline.
Now, it's all cleaned up and I don't have any issues at all. I like the focus back on the programs, but I also like to poke around the apps. I'm happy with 10 now.

I'm no help. We held onto XP until they stopped doing updates then got new computers with 7. When we find an OS we like, we keep it until forced to upgrade. I just wish windows would quit popping in countless times a day telling me I can upgrade. I don't wanna!!!!

My computer guy said not to upgrade. I didn't have plans to, but when you hear that from your computer guy you really wonder about it.

Every time they release a Windows upgrade people bang on about how crap it is. I've learned to ignore the hate over the years, and I've never been disappointed about upgrading. We upgraded some time ago and I have no complaints. Although I did have a problem to start with - a while ago I had an EHD that had broken, and my brother had installed it inside my computer so I could retrieve all the photos on there, so it became an internal external hard drive! For some reason as soon as we upgraded to Windows 10 I couldn't boot up - something to do with it not recognising that particular drive. I just took it out and all was good.

My old computer runs on Vista and I needed some new software that needed something newer so I bought a new HP. It came with 7 Professional and I could upgrade to 10 for free, so I did that first before doing anything else. So far, no issues (knock on wood!) but I was starting from complete scratch so there's that. I don't use half of the new stuff because I'm mostly a Mac person (I only use my PCs for work, my Mac I use for everything else) so I didn't even know how to use half of the old stuff!

It was all good until about 2 weeks ago- I upgraded back in the summer. I get the "black screen of death" sometimes. I followed some youtube vids to fix it and it works now most of the time. If I get the black screen, I just wait a few minutes and it goes away. Why can't they get this right???

I got a new computer this summer that came with 8.1, and I upgraded in September. So far, I like it better than 8.1, but with 10, I get a weird pop up window in all gibberish when ever it has to think too hard, but it goes away quickly. 8.1 used to give me a white screen that stayed way too long. That was scary.

I have an hp laptop and upgraded about three months ago. For the first week it was very cool. Then I started getting routine error messages. I researched and found a solution. That seemed to help for a while. Microsoft put through an update and it started all over again. I disabled many of the features that some seem to think make windows 10 great because I don't use them and wouldn't want to. Windows 10 is an invasive, privacy grabbing system. Other than that, it seems to work fine now!

I have 7. It works great. It will be support for a long time. I run a certain software that has major issues with 10. If those are resolved before July (you have until then to get the free download for 10) I might update.
I have a Windows 8 laptop that I will update, but I need to set it up to update during my late night free zone and just never get around to it. I only have unlimited internet between midnight and 6 am. Otherwise I will use my data allowance for the entire month downloading Win10

I had a new laptop a couple of weeks ago and it was already on it. I like it and have had no issues. It's not that different to 7 which I had on my old laptop.

I run Windows 7. I'm not having any issues and so I'm not upgrading. Like cadoodlebug, I actually liked Vista. But a few years ago when I needed a new laptop it came with 7. The IT guy at work suggested that I wait to upgrade (until all the kinks are worked out) or don't upgrade at all. And my theory for software is if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I upgraded my laptop a couple of months ago and like it so much better. It came loaded with 8, which I hated with the heat of a thousand suns. I figured I had nothing to lose and I'm glad I did it.

My husband is a self employed computer guy. He suggests to wait awhile until they have the "bugs" worked out of the new system. You have until next year to upgrade for free, so you have time. Also, Windows 7, I believe, will be supported until at least 2025. It is a very good operating system and there is really no need to change from it at this time.
That being said, we did upgrade our laptop because it was Windows 8 and well, Windows 8 sucks! LOL! We have had no problems, and it seems to run well. He has had a couple of customers upgrade also. Most have been ok, although there are occasionally compatibility issues with older software etc.

My DH updated is desktop today and now he is completely locked out of his computer, to say he is pissed is an understatement. He has not been able to find a fix as of tonight.

I upgraded from 7 to 10 about 2 months ago. So far, I've had two problems but found solutions for each.
1) Every time I opened a file, it was "Read Only." I googled for solutions to this problem and found that the following worked:
In File Explorer, right-click on Documents/click on Properties/Security/Group or User Name/Home Users (Owner-PC). Then check boxes for Full Control, Modify, and Write. Apply Save.
2) When my computer crashed a few months ago, it was salvaged, but the hard drive was wiped clean, so I had to reinstall or download many programs. However, I forgot to install the software for my digital camera, so I couldn't upload new photos to my hard drive. When I tried to reinstall the program from the camera software CD, it failed to complete the download, and I couldn't download it from the web either, because it was no longer available online. Fortunately, my husband has a laptop with Windows 7, so he could download the program from the CD. I then uploaded my photos to his laptop and emailed them to myself. I guess this will be a continuing hassle, but I don't use the camera often, just at holidays and family visits, so it's a tolerable work-around.
Other than that, I haven't had any problems.

I upgraded a couple of weeks ago. My computer guy dh cleaned up my laptop before upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 10 and then I reinstalled all my programs. I have not had any problems and I like it so far.
It did fix the problem our Toshibas had with 8 where they would not turn all the way off when you shut it down.

I upgraded from 7 to 10, and the only issues I've had is that I've lost some of the software and features I had from Toshiba (that were "on top" of Windows 7). It's a little irritating, but I've dealt with it.

I got a new lenovo for work already loaded with 10. Yeah, it's had some buggy issues, so if I sleep instead of shut down, I usually have to restart anyway. sometimes odd things happen, like suddenly it will stop recognizing any wifi at all. there are features in 10 that I do like, especially in excel, but since I don't get a choice in upgrading or not, I just make it work around the bugs. Hey, just like life.
