I told myself I was not going to get a planner. I didn't need one once I retired. Then a good job fell into my lap and BAM I needed a planner. I got the Simple Stories Carpe Diem Aqua one on Friday. It is really nice and actually simple enough for what I need. The cover is leather. Has anyone tried to do a simple cover design on leather? If so, what medium(s) did you use? I love the color and don't want to put much on it, but I am thinking a little something would be nice. www.simplestories.com/product/a5-planner-aqua

I don't know the answer to your question, but just wanted to say that the planner is gorgeous. I love that aqua, the color is so beautiful. And congratulations on your unretirement!

I'm not super busy (I work part time, no kids, etc) and I have a planner. Obviously I use it to keep track of appointments and important dates but on the daily pages, I track to-do lists and do simple journaling (makes it sound fancier than it is, but it comes In handy for catching up with project life) about what I did that day, medical things, I track mail orders here so if I order a lot of things I don't accidentally forget/miss an order when it comes in. I guess I'm trying to say, even if you aren't some crazy busy person, there's plenty of reasons to have a planner. ;-)

Oops, I didn't really answer your question. I personally would leave the cover alone and add your personality on the dashboard and pages of the planner. Maybe you won't carry your planner around with you all the time now that you're retired but stuff on the cover could get in the way of trying to write. Also, if your planner is open on your desk, that's the part you see most often.
