I am searching for a teen proof iphone charging cord. My dd always breaks hers right where it meets the phone. Any suggestions?

I'm going to have to check these out. I also have a gift for destroying cords.

I figured out what teens do. I noticed this summer when I was unable to walk my phone charger cord was acting up. What I was doing is natural. What they are doing for the most part is natural.
1. Plug phone in 2. Lay phone face down on something (doesn't matter what) 3. Pick up phone to answer or text or tweet or play ---the action of picking up the phone and using it means you are picking up a face down phone, turning it around to use it ---that action causes the cord to twist at the connection site ---that action causes the phone cord to break.
How to solve it...don't turn the phone over when it's charging. Leave the phone face up.
Now, that's what I did, but will teens? Probably not.

I saw on FB recently a suggestion to use the spring from pens. They suggest wrapping it around the cord so it can't bend.

My son goes through them like crazy, too, but there's never a visual reason why. They just stop working.

For my dd it is using her phone while it is charging. She rests the bottom plug part against her stomach as she texts and this bends it at a 90 degree angle.
They need one designed like those flat extension cords that are designed to be plugged in behind furniture.

I go through cords like they are going out of style, too, and I'm not doing anything that I can tell. I went the life of my last two phones without ever replacing a cord. The current cord design is just horrid. Price doesn't seem to matter.

We use Unu brand from Amazon. Very flexible. Highly recommend.

We go through these a lot too - the AT&T guy just replaced the one we bought less than a month ago and told us to use electrical tape on the area where the wire meets the phone, that's the place that seemes to bend a lot and by adding that it seems to give more stability.
We have gone through 8 this year. Maybe more as I don't remember if that includes the 3 of mine I have had to replace or that is just for DD - always seem to replacing them.
We had some great long distance ones we got at RADIO SHACK but that is since gone out of business, those lasted the longest and really bummed I can't find anything similar quality. They still died but did last longer than anything else - mostly it's because the cords are so freaking SHORT is why they get broken here, they get pulled on a lot I think.

These flat cords from Amazon have held up very well for us: flat cords I ordered three in February and all of them are still going strong. I recently bought some that looked similar from an AT&T store. Haven't had those long enough to know if they will last, but they have the same flat design, which I think helps.

I've been very happy with the Amazon brand cables.
One warning if you go with a charging dock: I use one and almost all of them require you to take off the case which can be a real pain. I have an iphone 6 and a 5s and this is true for both phones/cases.

I do not believe in such a holy grail. Sasquatch does not exist!! But if you really find one, let me know. I've not had success with any.

Try an angled phone charger, the cord goes off to the side, rather than straight down.

I noticed that mine was about to crack so my dh put some black tape on it and then he melted it a bit with my hair dryer. I'm hoping it will last a while longer

It's not just teens breaking these things. If you google it has been a long term problem for many. Apple COULD make a better cord if they wanted. I've exchanged several cords at the store. I finally got tired of driving cross town to do so, so I purchased a Belkin cord. It's held up beautifully!

Buy a packet of Sugru and reinforce new cords, and mend old cords. I love love love this stuff and use it to fix and hack everything I can come up with ideas for to fix or hack. Sugru

I have had no success with amazon's lightning chargers. They last for two or three weeks, then kaput.
