I have a cold too, but no one cares about me. hmmph I have to go work in the 1st grade classroom shortly and give the cold back to/from whence it came. (Did any of that make sense?) Today may be the day I finally break out the frozen fish sticks and tater tots for dinner. I do have plans for some real cooking later in the week but there's too much going on today to get started. Unhappy update on last night's dinner: I don't think I can eat Betty Crocker potatoes anymore. They were way too salty. I hadn't made them in years but I used to love them. Can't even blame the ham for the saltiness, because I've always added ham. Love and good wishes to akathy. Let me grab that 2" violin that I'd been hiding. Bahahahaha. Seriously, I'm sorry that you have the icky cold, too. Sending you chicken soup vibes. Btw-it's the matzoh ball that provides the cure. Feel better lucy. @the birdhouse lady, thank you so much for your good thoughts. Ain't that the truth! Maybe I'll make matzoh ball soup this week. Thanks everyone for the kind words. I was really just being silly. Now I have to go back up to the school for the third time today to pick up the 6yo.

Today is our big family dinner. Sloppy joes, tator tots and I am not sure what else.
There will only be 9 instead of the 12-16 on a usual Monday night dinner.

Are you Hungarian? One of my friends makes hers with green peppers. Onions is the only veggie I use. And extra paprika but not the spicy kind. Just the regular flavor. I love love love the stuff. I think it's my favorite comfort food. Tonight, I am making chicken strips, coated in sricha (sorry, sp) for the kids. Coated in bbq for me. Baked potatoes and broccoli. Lisa

Okay look. No more sickness. I'm putting my foot down. I dumped the ingredients for Swiss steak in the crockpot and boiled some egg noodles. I hate those wiggly chewy noodles but DH loves them so I'll just eat the beef. Feel better akathy scrapmaven and lucyg

No, not hungarian. My friends family is and she was talking about it one day, DH heard and said he would love to have it so I looked up a recipe. It's super simple and YES, I add lots of extra paprika! LOL. I don't usually add the hot paprika, but decided to try it tonight. Yeah, used a bit much! Next time I will use a bit less. I love to make it as soon as the weather cools off. It's a nice comforting dish!
