Curious is anyone has bought one of the new faux leather handbooks that appeared a few weeks ago. Aside from using a 4 ring system, are there any other changes? Details are pretty minimal any place I have found them. Curious if they still have a 2.5" spine... are those metal corners rounded like they seem to be in the photo so that they won't scratch up the shelves... how is the quality... is the 4 ring spacing identical to the old 4 ring Handbooks?
I would like to stick with 6x8's next year but counting on SC to keep their albums and pp's in stock is such a pain. Looks like the seven paper ones are popping up all of the place now and shouldn't be such a hassle.

From what I've read, since AC manufactures the sevenpaper binders they will have the same 4 ring spacing like the old SC Handbooks. Moving forward the SC Handbooks will stick with the 6 ring spacing.
What I haven't been able to find out if those new sevenpaper binders have the 2.5 inch spine. I just put in an order for one of these from scrapbook.com so once it arrives i'll update here if someone hasn't already.

Did you order the faux leather or Goldie? I was told that first bit by SC when I asked, but was curious if it was 100% accurate since they don't actually have the product there yet apparently. And well, let's just say accuracy isn't their forte.

Ugh. The plethora of different ring binder systems makes for such a mess. It feels like you need to get extra pocket pages for every album you buy because no two albums have the same binder system and you can never be sure whether they'll keep these or those specific pocket pages in stock, if they stock them at all! Gah. I've grown tired of it. Fortunately, I have a load of the old SC handbooks to use and besides those, I'm sticking with Ali's albums for DD and WITL. I'm not going to buy any new handbooks or collection albums from SC/Seven Paper until they commit to a long time standard system.

That's the problem with SC: They want to lock customers in by coming out with unique sizes, various ring placements, etc. However, SC doesn't stick with anything. Every few months they change things, and stuff disappears, and no one knows when or IF it's coming back. You can't buy their binders or albums with long-term plans in mind.

Its so frustrating that they keep changing something that should really be standard, i mean A.C. makes all of their stuff right? The only thing that keeps me buying those handbooks is the larger spine size. Some of my page protectors have so many holes in them because I swap out age protectors so often hopefully these new seven paper ones are the same size and stay consistent.

I pulled out all of my 2015 completed handbooks last night and I used the same number of page protectors +/- a few in each one. So I am planning on buying a year's worth at the start of the year so that I know I am covered for the entire year before I even start (because my OCD ways require that they all match ) And with a fuse, I can really get away with buying the 2 4x6 layouts for the bulk of them and create 4 different possible layouts. Add in a couple packages of plain 6x8 and I am good to go. Or at least that is my plan for now....

What makes it a "handbook" and not an album?

I have to admit, my distrust of SC has led me to avoid their new products completely. They should have more photos and details with the item listing and they never do. So you don't really know what you are getting. Too big a gamble. I wonder why the other scrapbook album producers have not gotten into producing the 6 x 8 and 9 x 12 sizes.
