Good morning. Today is mega busy w/appts. So, I haven't even begun to contemplate dinner. Perhaps Garlic chicken w/peppers and brown rice??? I'll update you when my brain switches into the on position.
What's on your menu tonight? Have a a great rest of your day everyone.

Cauliflower cheese for us tonight. Roasting the cauliflower as I type. No idea on dessert.

It's either going to be chicken & spaghetti (similar to Pioneer Woman's) or chicken, pierogies and green beans. I had a little change of menu last night - we had hamburgers but not the pierogies and beans so I think we'll do that tonight instead.

I don't know yet but I'm going to be busy today, so something fairly quick and easy. I'm thinking spaghetti with meat and veggie sauce (since I finally stocked up on veggies yesterday, ha ha). Going to take out some ground beef and sausage right now while I'm thinking about it.
ETA or else chili rice if I want to be even quicker and lazier than usual. Yeah, that's the ticket.

I feel like poo today thanks to the damned head cold. I really wanted to stay home under the covers today. I took chicken breast out of the freezer, I think we'll have salsa verde chicken and rice with green beans. It's quick and easy and everyone will like it - and if they don't - tough.

DH told me we're having BLTs. Sounds good to me, especially since he does the cooking and cleaning up.

Some people who my guy used to work with are in his office today so he wanted to bring them home for dinner. I understand his desire to show off the property to them... but by the time they get here it will be dark and possibly raining... and he still hasn't unpacked a ton of his boxes and he's been here since July 1st. Hopefully this is going to lead to him being a little more motivated to help me get this house a little more like a home and definitely more guest ready:)!
It was supposed to be burgers here but I think i'll be heading into the city to meet them and we'll go out for dinner instead.

I combined things from my fridge and freezer and I'm calling it kielbasa tortellini alfredo because that's what it resembles the most. I'll roast some broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots, the fruit will be grapes and cantaloupe, and there are some rolls that haven't gone moldy yet. Not sure what dessert will be. Boy, doesn't that all sound so appealing?

Dh is working tonight so probably won't be here for dinner ... that means I can make something he's not crazy about: Chili! Dd #1 enjoys chili but I can see dd#2 eating a bagel instead

It's our son's birthday today and he requested lasagna. We'll also have salad and garlic bread. And cake!

I just put taco soup in the crock pot. It's raining and it sounded good. I'll make some rice to serve it over. Plus cheese and sour cream for toppings.

DH and I were supposed to go to dinner with MiL tonight but alas, he has strep and I have sinus and ear infections. Thankfully, the baby is fine. I just left the doctors. I'm going to make some chicken and rice soup. Is it wrong if I leave DS at daycare while I take a nap? This is really kicking my butt. I felt ok this morning but as the day progressed, I knew.

The inlaws just got home from their cruise and want to catch up, so they are taking us out for dinner. I offered to cook, but secretly was glad they said "no, let's go out"

I am hungry for chicken cacciatore over fettuccine and garlic toast today! Looking at a big old bag of TPN and dreaming Aw, akathy I started reading this thinking "yeah, she's home" and then . Hoping it won't be long before you are home and eating real food. I'm making a lasagne now that can be reheated for dinner in case I don't make it back home in time. Trying to decide whether or not to add in a layer of spaghetti squash.

trixie Bender, I am seriously LOLing over here - "rolls that aren't moldy" - sounds like my house!!! I am making a pork roast in the crock pot with cranberry sauce. I will put it on in about an hour. I am serving it with corn. If I am extra motivated, I will make mashed potatoes. Otherwise, I will fix baked potatoes. Lisa

I'm having dinner with my dear friend at a great Italian restaurant, and Todd will probably grab a sandwich in between coming home from work and heading off to his volunteer "job."

Quiche, roasted asparagus and a fruit salad
I was at costco yesterday and they had the 2 pack of quiche. Spinach artichoke and broccoli cheese...I turned the corner and they had samples. I was sold.

I skip the bell peppers though because I'm not a fan. I use the recipe in the 1973 version of the big Good Housekeeping cookbook.

We are having Chicken and Pesto baked with camponelle pasta. It has chicken, pesto, mozzarella, parmesan, ricotta, cream, chicken broth and herbs-all mixed up and baked. YUMMY. Easy, too. Comforting for DH who still has the sore throat but delicious for the rest of the family.

Pork chops if I get off my butt in the next 10 minutes or so. Sides, have no idea. I seriously need to make a grocery run especially since I just gave the dogs the last of their kibbles.

Ham Steaks, Stouffer's Mac and Cheese (I tossed it in the fridge before work this morning hoping that would take a little time off the cook time), and green beans.
