One night I had a dream that my previous boyfriend from high school had come to my state to visit me. It was so realistic. When I got home from work that night, my husband said you will never guess who called. I knew. We hadn't spoken in probably 10 years. Weirdness.

We had a woman at our church that was the associate pastor and taught Bible study. One day it was announced that she had left to be a head pastor at another church about 2 hours away. We were sad that we really never got to say goodbye but it seems she didn't want a big production made of her leaving.
Several years went by and one day I found myself thinking of her and looked up her church and decided to visit. When I got there, 2 other ladies from my church were there and had the same idea as me (they didn't come together nor had they discussed it, just decided on their own to go). So, we all sat together. After the service, we talked to our former pastor and discovered it was her birthday and none of us knew that. Her husband was out of town so the four of us all went out to lunch to celebrate her birthday. It was just so unusual that of all days, her birthday, when she was alone, the 3 of us would just happen to show up ....many years after she had left our church.

Twice and both times to do with an ex boyfriend. (4year relationship, he proposed, broke up,)
We used to get the Saturday paper delivered, but I never really looked up anything in the classifieds. One Saturday I was flicking through them and saw my ex- boyfriend and his wife had a baby. I knew he was married so no real surprise, just a few twinges of regret/nostalgia. However, 5 years later, again randomly looking through the paper came across their 2nd baby announcement! I had miscarried after our breakup which had been quite traumatic at the time and it seemed such a weird coincidence that I would just happen to be reading the paper BOTH days they announced the birth of their children.
Fast forward another 10 years. I'm a teacher and was asked to choose a few of my students to be part of a photo shoot for our major newspaper which ex boyfriend still worked for. I specifically asked our principal for the name of the photographer and she said "Mark something" (if it was him I was going to try and sneak a look at him, but not actually talk to him!) His name is not Mark, so next day sent the kids down to meet photographer and get photos taken. It was not until a few days later when the kids excitedly brought the paper in to show me that I noticed that Mark was the reporter and yes of course my ex boyfriend had been just 20 feet down the corridor from me!
It's actually been over 25 yrs since we last saw each other and I joke that I will probably see him again- on the day I pop down to the supermarket with no makeup and daggy clothes on. Corinne

A few years ago I was reading an inspiring story in the Newspaper about a man in jail for murder. He was very young and stupid when he committed the crime and has been a model prisoner for the past couple of decades. He decided to devote his time caring for hospice patients at the prison. The next day a long time client comes in and before we discuss what he came in for, we make small chit chat. I tell him about that news article and how it stayed in my mind and that he should read it. Turns out the prisoner is his brother!! Because of all his good work, he is up for parole with the support of the victim's family. The client was actually coming in so we can help him with the family's personal letter to the judge. The prisoner got out and s now workng as a counselor for at-risk youth. How weird huh?

I had a long-lost cousin. His mom (my aunt) had died when he was a baby, and his dad had moved far away. I had seen him once as a teenager, but hadn't seen or heard of him in more than 25 years.
I was thinking of my long-lost cousin one day and decided I should try to find him. I did an internet search and had a phone number in minutes. I left a message on his answering machine and he called me back about an hour later. We talked for quite awhile. He's had a hard life and feels very alone in the world, so hearing from a cousin was really meaningful to him. As we were ending the conversation, he thanked me for calling that day, and got choked up as he told me, "It's my birthday."
Of all days to think of him, that was the day that mattered most.

That is strange. I know I have had similar experiences (I remember thinking "that was a strange coincidence" but can't remember specifics at this time.

Many years ago, my first job out of high school was working at a newspaper. They took on a college intern that only worked a couple days then never showed up again. I worked there for 4 years and then I left to open my own storefront. One day, I was sitting at my counter in my business and thinking about this girl that bailed on us and at that moment she walks in the door! She walked up to the counter (didn't shop) spoke to me for about 30 seconds and then turned around and left. I was so in shock.
Now this stuff happens to me all the time. At least once a month I'm working on someone's photos and they'll send me a photo asking me the status, or a question. I can't remember how many times I've said "how weird, I was just thinking of you." (and it's true). Hundreds of times probably. I've picked up the phone to call someone a lot, and the phone never rang but they were on the line when I dialed.

Here is mine: We were talking about favorite numbers at work and I told the story how 42 has been my favorite number since I was in elementary school and went to a birthday party and they had a jar of butterscotch candies and the person who guessed the closest to the number won it. Of course I guessed some really high number and was way off. But the number in the jar was 42. For some reason it stuck with me and had been my favorite number ever since. So I was thinking of that friend with the party that day and how we were friends through high school and I had seen her once in college at a store and haven't seen her since.
That night I was looking in the paper. I was looking in a section I never ever read about what is happening that weekend - music, events, etc. There is a little blurb about an author who is doing a book signing at a event - yep it was her. How weird is that. this is not close to where we grew up. So, I felt like I had to go and see her. I drove the 40 minutes to the town she was at and just showed up and said "remember me?" The event was slow so we chatted for a while. Then her parents showed up and we chatted some more. We send Christmas cards and I follow her on facebook (she has written like 4 books). We were in Girl Scouts together and went to summer camp together and both of us have girls that are Girl Scouts. Very cool and very weird.

I had one happen just today, after posting earlier.
I was watching CreativeLive's broadcast with CTMH products and thought of my scrapbooking friend Amy. I thought, Wow, I haven't talked to Amy in ages - I'll text her and tell her about this broadcast. So I picked up my phone and a text message from Amy popped up on the phone in my hand. (Cue Twilight Zone music.)

I wonder if any peas remember the little girl from Hawaii that suffered a brain injury from near drowning in her backyard pool, Abbie Vara. It's been over 10 years ago & it was posted about on 2 peas several times, which is where I heard about her. Her mom kept a blog about her recovery for several years. I hadn't thought about her for years & looked her up this summer on the day after she passed away. I love strange coincidences.

That always happens to me with my massage clients. My receptionists are convinced that I have some psychic powers. Quite often I think of a client I haven't seen in a long while, mention it in passing and they next day they call in for an appointment.
Last month I was thinking of a friend I hadn't seen in a decade, googled him and found out his mother had passed away and the funeral was that day. Its always weird when that happens.

Here's my take on synchronicities, which do happen to me daily ( as small as the tv saying the same words the same time I'm reading them (like "teacher" in the OP's ) to as big as finding a domino effect of them that last for hours. ( like bumping into friend after friend I haven't seen for a long while who says they weren't planning to be here, to seeing 1111 everywhere and picking up my phone to see if someone responded yet after waiting for them to respond for a couple hours and they respond the second a swipe open my phone. )
This is what I wrote on my page about it:
Synchronicity ~Path of Purpose~
Have you ever experienced a moment where something coincidental happens?
Some say when this occurs it's JUST a coincidence in a fluke sort of way.
When I use this idea towards these moments, I forget about them the moment after. And nothing becomes of it. It's dismissed with having any purpose to do with my life.
Or so I consciously consider it to be.
But what the deeper levels of my consciousness see them as could be something more.
Because when I use this idea of meaning when I experience the synchronistic moments, I feel more connected to the deeper levels of my consciousness, as if my conscious level is in agreement with the deeper ones.
So when these moments show up I do take meaning to it. And something amazing happens.
My moment becomes euphoric, I get soul chills, I feel like I have tapped into something beyond a belief of just a coincidence.
My moment starts to feels like there's life to it, more clarity comes, intuition grows, and when I keep with this flow, more synchronicities present themselves to me, decreasing the odds more and more that these are just flukey experiences mirroring each other. But that these are experiences with purpose behind why they are expressing the same thing.
Personally I love these moments and feel that because I found meaning to them that I'm more aware of their arrivals and catch them more.
I feel I have stepped on my path of purpose and presence.

Here's my most memorable one that happened a couple weeks ago that I was able to experience with someone: ( it's not about looking someone up from the past but I still got that same "how cool is this!" feeling to it )
My boyfriend and I were looking at these puzzles at this game/calendar store. I was quizzing him on sports stuff and he was showing me this puzzle of an 80's collage telling me about each advent. I just asked him a question about some specific sport event just giving him the date to see if he could tell me what sport event that is involving a certain team or something specific and it was the next thing he pointed to on the puzzle and I said "Sync! That's the answer to my question I asked you!" And then he looked at the puzzle again to name something else on it and said with a little astoundment "you mean this?" and right there on the puzzle collage was the word: Synchronicity

A few years ago I got an impulse to finally check out Craig's List. I'd heard about it for years but never even thought of looking at it. I clicked around and ended up in the rants and raves section where I learned that a lifelong family friend had passed away a couple of days before. It was so strange to have the random thought of doing something new that lead to a profound experience.

I have one that still is kind of weird for me. I was at an ice rink during the summer before school started and saw this guy skating with his girlfriend. He was cute and a good skater. I had a thought in my head, I bet when we date we'll be speaking French and having fun. Odd... and really not at all my normal thought even though I am quite sarcastic. Classes start the next week. I go to French class and my buddy (from grade school) is talking to this guy. Buddy turns to me and says, "Hey, Mike is looking to join a study group so he can "speak French and have fun" -said with air quotes. Mike turned around and I was like- what the hellllllll! Weird! And, we dated for awhile, spoke the language of love which was fun, but I barely remember any French.

Many years ago I discovered a long-lost cousin was stationed at a base about two hours from where we were living. My DH was going there one weekend, and decided to see if he could find my cousin. He called some main line and was asking about said cousin when someone broke into the conversation. It was my cousin. He was practicing wire tapping and was shocked to tap into a line only to discover someone asking for him. What were the odds?

Ok I remembered one that happened with a friend of mine years back. But just an hour ago another one with him happened which got me remembering our first synchronistic encounter: We were good friends back in high school, but we distanced during our junior year ( he went to a different high school than I did ) I used to go to the Mormon church back then and he was/is a Mormon and he would pick me up every morning for Seminary before school. Only I wasn't a morning person at all so every morning he would come in my room to wake me up One day he sent emails out to friends and gave me mine on a piece of paper, since I didn't have email he printed it out. I really don't know what ruined our friendship other than us getting a little beyond friends one morning and maybe that type of relationship with us was too strong for him to risk losing, so as not to start it at all there would be no risk. Anyway after we lost touch I moved away a couple years later and would go on AOL a lot. I wondered one day how my old friend / almost lover was doing. I was going through some things of mine while unpacking and I found his printed out email message he had given me. And on the top was his email address with @aol.com at the end. So I put in his name ( something like: Arsenal123 ) on my buddy list on AOL wondering if he still uses it, hoping to get back in touch with him. A week or 2 went by with no door opening with that name. I started to think he has changed his screen name and I may never reach him. ( this was before facebook days ) Then one night soon after when I was on AOL chat'n it up with people the little door opened and it was Arsenal123! My heart skipped a beat. I was going to message him right away but I wanted to play it cool and wait a couple minutes. Anyway I messaged him and after he responded and we settled into a conversation this is what he said: I never check this email account anymore. I was thinking about you the other day and wondered how you were. So I prayed about it. I went to check my old email because I was waiting for something that wouldn't be sent to my new one. That's when you messaged me. ( definitely not word for word of what he said but just the idea ) So he gave me his screen name that he does use and we stayed in contact. And now today's: So my friend loves Monty Python. And he's on my fb and I will see his posts from time to time. A couple months ago I saw a video that looked like him and I used a quote from Monty Python that reminded me of it when I sent it to him. So I was at dd's karate class this evening just looking through fb when I find a post from my Monty Python loving friend. After I read his post I suddenly hear the instructor here say: "Just a flesh wound" ... The same quote I sent to my friend in that video. So I shared my experience in one of the comments under his post.
