Whether it's baking or cooking what dish stands out for you?
My Christmas cookies are a big deal, especially my butter cookies dipped in chocolate.

Apparently I do a decent job making pumpkin rolls -- I get a lot of requests.

I make Paul's Dean's corn pudding. However one year I bought all the ingredients to make and started quilting and forgot all about it. When we arrived at our friend's house she asked where my dish was.. She was really wanting to try it. I felt like quite a ditz!

Top three requests/requirements for holidays or any family get-together: Broccoli pasta salad (very sweet dressing); green bean bundles and pumpkin rolls.
If its the kids/grandkids coming home it is enchiladas, tortilla soup and taco salad.

Pumpkin cookies with maple frosting and peanut butter fudge which my DB thinks is from scratch. He "knows" it is because it has chunks of peanuts in it from the heaping tablespoon of extra chunky peanut butter I toss into the marshmallow fudge recipe.

Hmmm.... we might need recipes here. Macaroni and cheese with poblanos? Chocolate trifle? Special squash casserole? Corn casserole? I am already hungry!

OK, a little background is necessary. My mother hosts all the family holiday gatherings, with everyone bringing something. I have a younger sister who loves to cook and bake. I don't, and I am NOT known for making great food (although I usually know good things to buy). When I was first out on my own, my mom would always ask me to bring a gallon of milk for the holidays - she's out in the country and it was something needed, easy for me, and one less thing for her to make sure she had. So, I always get to bring the milk - and I usually bring white and chocolate.

My caramels are the most requested. I made caramels for the first time recently. They weren't as difficult as I had imagined they would be, but the cutting and wrapping was so tedious! Do you happen to have any tips or tricks?

Lemon Meringue Pie for Christmas dinner. Mmmm...I'm usually a fruit or berry kind of pie girl, but right now that sounds really good for some reason. How long from down under will it take to get to me in the middle of the US. I'll be up late....

Do you happen to have any tips or tricks? A very sharp chef's knife, a good cutting board and buy the precut waxed paper wrappers. (I get them in red, green and holly berries) I make about 2,000 caramels during the holidays and have for years so I kind of have a rhythm. It's just a matter of practice and it still takes a lot of time.

Reese's peanut butter bars... you could make them into balls, but it's so much easier to just mash the peanut butter mixture into a pan and pour chocolate on top then roll the mixture into little balls and dip in chocolate.
People like the bars just fine, and I can stuff more into a container than I could if they were little balls.
I also make really good brownies. That's what dh has asked I make for Christmas.

I sent them off to my son for his Thanksgiving. If they rave about them then I'll buck up and make them for some friends too... Must find my rhythm
