I am always asked to supply the "green slimed turkey" every year. I make a really flavorful marinade ithat contains a mixture of fresh herbs. I blend everything in my Vitamix and my son started calling it green slime sauce when he was about 4 years old and it just stuck. We still call it that some 30 years later. It doesn't sound very appetizing, does it? The turkey has to be in the marinade for at least 12 hours, but preferably 24. During that time, it needs to be flipped over and over, and the marinade pushed and patted through the plastic bag to make sure every inch gets a good soaking. That was my son's favorite part of the process. I learned to double up on the marinade mixture because it makes an awesome sauce for passing at the meal, and I need some left over to make the required turkey soup which gets shared with all the family for the days following Christmas. The marinade is easy to make, and would be just as good done with chicken during the year, but for some reason, I have only done that once. I really need to remember to use it through out the year. Lexica... we really need the recipe for your magic "green slime." It sounds intriguing. Do you mind sharing? Mmmm! Yes please share.

I host Thanksgiving every year so I make most of the food anyway, but I am always asked, you're making red hot salad aren't you? I get asked to bring it to other dinners also. It's basically cherry jello but you when you boil the water you add in a bunch of red hots and they melt in the water and make the jello spicy and cinnamon-ie. I swear the bowl is licked clean!
