Other than spending $ to see Dr and possibly get antibiotics, what can I try for ear ache other than ibuprofen? Was out in the cold both weekend days for 10+ hours each day and have had bad ear ache ever since

When I was a kid my mum used to drip a few drops of warm Olive oil into my ear then a little ball of cotton wool. I don't really know what it did but I remember it being very soothing ![](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

There are antibiotic free ear pain relief drops at the pharmacy. Similasan is the brand. I've used them for my son and had good results.

Put some rice in a sock and tie it shut. Microwave it in 30 sec increments until it's warm. Place on ear or lay your head/ear on it. Very soothing.

I second the heat. Try a heating pad or the rice in a sock. Ear pain is the worst (well, except maybe tooth pain!) I hope you get some relief soon!
