Next year, I'll be using medium Gillios (Mia Cara and Compagna) , standard van der Spek (two different ones) an il Bisonte and an old The Bridge planner (all these planners are the same size as a personal filofax). I'm using a combination of homemade inserts and inserts bought from yellow paper house on etsy, cocoa daisy and filofax. I 'm not into decorating my planners (except from a cat stamp when I'm cat sitting), so I don't use a ton of washi and stickers as a lot of the planner peeps on youTube use. If you like it, fine, but some of us get distracted. I know a lot of people like Erin Condren, Plum Planner or other coil planners, but I prefer rings (and midori/fauxdori for everything else, like vacation planning).

Midori Traveler's notebook is what I would recommend. Mine fits in my purse and it's beautiful and inviting. As far as supplies, a few really good pens are a must,

Pretty - Kikki K sits untouched but is very nice to look at and hold. Functional and goes with me everywhere - Get to Work Book by Elise Blaha

Planners are such a personal choice. When I first started I watched a ton of planner set up videos. That was very helpful! Confusing at first, but definitely worth the research. I began with a personal sized Kikki K planner. Made my own dividers with scrapbook paper and a laminator. Bought all kinds of cute paper clips. As time went on I decided that personal was too small for my needs. I've since switched to an A5 size which I love so much more. If you are on Facebook, there are a lot of great groups to join so you can ask questions and see pictures of the various planners out there. Good luck with your decision!

I had to get the 2016, so I'm putting things way in the future and getting used to it - wish I had ordered earlier and gotten the 2015-2016 school year one. Oh well. I have used what feels like every planner under the sun and I'm so glad I can stop wasting money on new ones. I've really grown to love its set up so I hope you like it too once you get to January.

I bought an aquamarine Filofax first and I like the colour but I am sick of it right now. Then once I decided I enjoyed this hobby I found a couple of planners I loved and am replacing the aquamarine one. I use my planners for different things. I love the Personal size, but I find it not easy to work with. I am left handed and it just doesn't work. I have two very beautiful Personal sized ones and they are lighter and easier to carry. I keep my gratitude journal in my really expensive one. I have a few pastel Kikki K ones and those are my favourite ones!!! I have an Icy Blue, Bubblegum, Mint, and in December a lilac one.
I love my planners very much. There is always a sale coupon going on for Kikki K and you want to ship from Australia as the US$ is much stronger against their dollar and shipping is $9. Can't beat that!

I also like that I can carry my planner, my journal, an art journal and a mini-scrapbook in one neat little package.

I have a MAMBI Happy Planner. I won it on IG. I'm not a planner person at all but this is mainly to help keep me organized with my swaps. It's very helpful, love the size of it because it gives me enough space to write. The only con I have is I don't care for the disc they use for binding it but I do know some people who take the discs out and get it bound at Staples with wires.

I've used a personal size Filofax the past two years and just this week switched to an A5 size and I am loving the extra space! I got the Simple Stories Carpe Diem planner and the main thing I like so far is that it's so pretty already without needing a lot of decoration. But of course, there is plenty of room to decorate and play! I did a walk through video here: youtu.be/6yXetYn4kzIPart I goes through the fun accessories.

lovestocreate, at the end of your video, you picked some Stampin Up inks to use with your planner. What colors did you choose?

The colors are Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, Lost Lagoon, and Coastal Cabana. Other good matches I like are So Saffron, Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky, Baja Breeze, Wild Wasabi, and Kiwi Kiss.

I've been an Erin Condren girl for 6 years and still highly recommend them! For 2016 I'll be trying out Inkwell Press.

Just to try something different? Yeah, just to see how I like IWP. I fell in love with the design of them (colors, goals per month, etc) and the quality is really awesome!

Years ago (15+) our company paid for a Franklin Planner, for those that wanted one. We had a financial guy in our office who used it as his bible and actually taught a session on organizing it. I'm intrigued by all of the posts out there! Makes me want to get one (my FP was wonderful but haven't used it in years)

The number one thing I look for when buying a planner is different sections for my kids. I use Mom's Weekly Planner by Peter Pauper Press. There is a section for mom and four separate sections for other members of the family. There isn't much room to decorate because I use four of the sections. I sometimes put a few stickers in there. There are different covers you can choose from.
