Yes! I started one to scrap my summer. I like the small format. I'm not a planner person, but I want to segway it into some sort of planning tool, just for doodling, jotting down notes, etc. I've been looking at the leather notebook holders.
Do you have any good resources for supplies? I have not really gotten into all of the Etsy designers yet.

There are some facebook groups that have individuals selling at great deals. I had tried the wide size and found out quickly for me - less is more. I like the small size and the portability - hoping to add this to my Project Life, journaling and other things for 2016.

Yes! I'm going to make my own inserts and a fabric fauxdori over the holiday weekend because I want to try it first before investing too much money.

I just bought a bunch of really cute ones from happiescrappie. She's having a sale right now. I really like using TNs, but I also like to be able to move things around and add things in after the fact so I'm still deciding between these notebooks and 6x8 binders.

Yes! I used one last year for my planner. I still use my Midori for journaling and taking on trips as a travel journal. I love the paper that is in the original Midori books because they can take just about any kind of media without bleed-through.

Yes, but the extent of my 'decorating' is to cover the notebooks with some patterned paper. I just use mine for various lists, not as a paper calendar as I prefer using my iphone for that

What adhesive do you use when covering the notebooks?

Yep, I love my traveler notebook. It goes with me everywhere. I decided to go with the original Midori leather and their notebooks, I love the quality of the leather and paper.
I usually keep 3 journals; my daily planner, my grid notebook for notes, and a plain journal for adhering photos, drawing, doodling, etc. I don't really do a lot of journaling or embellishing, I have the clear pockets and I keep business cards, tickets, receipts, or other small items I collect throughout the day.

What adhesive do you use when covering the notebooks? I'm a huge fan, love mine! To cover them, I use a wet, strong glue such as a ZIG two-way. I found that normal tape runner wasn't holding for me. I expected the glue to make a terrible mess but in the end, it really didn't. I did learn to put the glue on the cover rather than on the paper!

Yes! I recently made my own fabric covered "fauxdori" and love it. Youtube has quite a few great tutorials on making your own.

I made myself one, and I love it! Love being able to add different types of notebooks to it. I'm thinking of picking up one of the little cheap purse-size calendar planners at the dollar store or WM to add to mine, too.

Anyone here getting the Daisy Dori inserts regularly? I ordered the October one and just got the January insert, and the paper is much thinner ... I loved the paper thickness, now I'm not so sure if I really want to spend $10 on the booklet each month.

I don't know about other months. This is my first of my sub.

But etsy is really the best place to find supplies.

I am digging this thread up. What inks for stamping do you all use in your inserts that do not bleed through the paper?

I am digging this thread up. What inks for stamping do you all use in your inserts that do not bleed through the paper? Depends on the inserts. And while you might not get bleed through, you might still get shadowing. Love my Yellow Paper House inserts, paper quality is really good, I have even used distress ink pads without any problems.

I'm planning to make my own this year. I have the fabrics to make my own dori (s), but haven't had a chance to work on them - hoping this weekend. I have the calendar insert made in word, but still have to print it. That will just be on printer paper. But I have some heavier weight paper to make some blank inserts for doodling. I will make a booklet for each book of the Bible for notes and such while reading. One booklet for each month that I call My Monthly Momentum that will house my chore checklist, weekly pages, menu plans, a page for special dates (birthdays, etc.) and notes and..... I've gotten most of the insert pages made, but need to put them in order to print. I'm very excited about the ability to customize this to be exactly what I want. I should say I'm really utilitarian in my planner and haven't gotten into the stickers and beautifying them.

I am really impressed by the paper of the Midori insert #003. I pulled out my watercolors and sharpie pen last night because there was a huge space on the bottom of my page and it held up beautifully!

Count me in on this craze!
I am just starting, although I've been reading up on MTN for a while now...I've ordered a dori cover (would that be the correct term?) from Onica Hanby off of etsy, but I want to make a few fabric doris as well.
I did the Erin Condren in the past but I found it was just too heavy to lug around. I don't like ringed books at all, I don't like the way the rings get in my way, and I don't like to hassle with torn holes, etc.
I love writing on Moleskine notebooks, so when I saw that you can bind them up in a MT cover I was hooked. There are not very Youtubes on how to make a dori cover that I could find. The few i found were either not very good quality or left me with a lot of questions (I'm not the best seamstress!).
I have some cute fabric and I bought the Pellex (?) to sandwich between. Sometime this week I'm going to take a stab at making mine.
Does anyone else get confused about all the different sizes? Eesh, standard, Cahier, passport...ahhh!
Right now I have three books going:
1 Moleskine for my daily planning 1 May Designs books for my bullet listing (graph paper/bullet) 1 May Designs book for meal planning (the meal planner book)
I'm thinking I'm going to make the May Designs books my main planner size, but I also just ordered some YellowPaper booklets that are the Midori sized that I want to try out, hence, making the fabric dori covers so I can live with that size for a while as well.
I've found my perfect planner system, for sure though, and I too, belong to the Facebook groups, lots of fun!

I'm going to have to try them out! Yes, the Yellow Paper House inserts papers are thick enough that you don't get any shadowing, but they do bleed through with Sharpie. I haven't tried stamping on them yet. I like them, but the paper is just okay to write on, in my opinion. I prefer a 'buttery' feel to paper, like the smoothness of Moleskine, oh how I love how may paper glides across it. The only drawback is the shadowing/bleed through. So annoying but I live with it because I heart that paper so much. May Designs paper is also pretty nice to write on as well. To me, the YPH paper is nice, but I like the buttah better.

You'll love Onica's work, promise! (I currently have 5, passport size and FN). Another great seller is Jennifer Harvey/chicsparrow. And if you're into painted TNs, check out Crazy Organized and Morganlefaestrinkets. They are both incredibly talented and super nice.

Love them! Bought a cover from Studio Calico this summer and made my own notebooks. I got some Midori inserts for Christmas and also bought the Cocoa Daisydori for January as a way to document my goals and resolutions for 2016. Only wish I had more time to spend with my notebooks!
