I have 2 good friends going through some major life crap. I am going through a divorce and they are both going to begin the process soon. PLUS one if them spends many days a week with her mom that has alzheimer's. I know that having something like a ring or a bracelet to remind me I can do this would be very inspiring to ME- so I thought I would like to get them each something to help them through these crappiest of crappy days.
I have been on etsy and other online stores looking for something. I don't want religious. And I don't want the simple "believe" or "hope" or "peace."
I did see one that said something like "she loved the person she was, she fought to become her" or something like that. I like it but I feel like there is something out there that would be more appropriate.
Anyone have something they love? I am grateful for all suggestions.

I have a serenity prayer necklace that I love. I also have a silver necklace my niece made for me in her jewelry class - it has a bird and says "sometimes you have to take a leap of faith and build your wings on the way down". If you can't find jewelry you like, how about making them a truth card? I've done those for several friends and they are always appreciated. How To Make a Truth Card

Alex & Ani bracelet! They have tons of different ones and they have a unique look to them (I think). You can get them on their site or on a lot of other sites like amazon/Nordstrom ect. If you go on the Alex and Ani site they have a store locator for places that sale them in your area if you want to see them in person. Good luck!

I have a ring from Silent Goddess on Etsy, but she also has bracelets. She'll add whatever you want her to. My ring says Don't Postpone Joy and reminds me daily that I need to live for today and take chances and reach for what I want and love hard and a whole host of other things.

I don't have any suggestions as far as the specific necklace/wording but I wanted to make sure you were planning to get one for yourself as well - I couldn't tell for sure from the OP. The reason I say that - when I was going through an especially rough patch a few years ago my two BFFs shopped together and picked out a meaningful necklace for me, and each bought a similar necklace (with their own meaningful friendship saying) for themselves. This was years ago and just last week one of the BFFs sent a photo of her wearing her necklace that day and told me and the other BFF how much she loves and misses us. We are all in very busy seasons of our lives and some days, even now that my difficult patch has passed, when I'm feeling disconnected or missing them I will make a point to wear my necklace that day.
ETA - I see now that your OP specifically says ring or bracelet and not necklace, I had necklace in my mind b/c that's what my friends got me. Same would apply, ring or bracelet.

I have to admit, my first thought was a sideways cross necklace Seriously, though, I'd agree with Etsy. A lot of them would allow you to choose a word and have it stamped.

I just got one of these: Bravelets I got the one linked, as it is a cause near and dear to my heart, however, they have them in different colors/causes to benefit different charities. I also like the idea of a Truth Card that Mary C mentioned, but I am a big fan of everything that Melody and Kathy and Brave Girls Club do. (Going to Camp in September!) I found that website, just when I needed it, and it speaks to me on so many levels. Here is the one that benefits the Alzheimer's Research Fund: Purple Bravelet

Alex and Ani makes a sunflower charm bracelet and 20% of the proceeds from its sale will go to the Alzheimer's Association.
I love their bangles!

I bought This bracelet for a friend recently and am very pleased with the look and the quality. My friend also loves it. I know the Gal that owns this store, she's very classy and she does all her own buying. Take a look around and see if she carries something that speaks to you. And tell Chris Kathy sent you
