I did a sort of December Daily last year, which was really just an 8x8 album highlighting holiday events between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day.
So, not a "daily" album.
Last year I seemed to have a lot of fun events, plus I changed the color of my tree decorations, and those were the colors I used to decorate the album.
Now, I kind of am wanting to do another small album this year, but I worry that it'll be too much of the same.
Though, if I do it, I will be using more traditional Christmas colors. I'm in a very red & green mood this year.
So, if you were me, would you be okay with a so-so album, even if the events weren't spectacular?

Do what gives you joy. If you enjoy the creativity and love using all the fun new holiday products, I'd say go for it. You can always add things like favorite Christmas movies, cookies, music, childhood memory, etc. to fill it out.

I have not done one in a few years. I should though. To keep the memories better

Even if the events weren't 'spectacular' I think you would still appreciate looking back at them in future years. Maybe you will see it as a year of calmness mixed in with busier years...? I'd say go for it! Maybe try a 4x6 album? Those look so cute! I have too much stuff I want to put in my album to do it as a 4x6, since I have 2 little kids, but I definitely want to try a 4x6 album for something else soon!

Just working on the pages makes me feel more "Christmas-y". We had a few hectic years and those pages helped me feel like I was participating in the season, not just driving past it.

If you are intend on doing a "December Daily" -= why not join it with Shimelle's Journal Your Christmas class. That way you can get a journaling prompt every day -- and Shinelle does current as well as remind you of traditional memories. One of the really nice things about Shimelle's class is the permanent enrollment!

I have a young child, so for me it's all special even if it's mundane. These years have already blown by so fast, it feels like yesterday and we were celebrating her first Christmas. It's so great now because she finally gets it and it's all fun and exciting for her, and her joy is contagious. I remember being a kid and that feeling of anticipation that was so thick in the air at this time of year. The days went by so painfully slowly back then, and now it seems like I barely blink and the whole thing is over!

I do a lot of the same things every year too. But I still document those things. It's been fun to look back over the years and still see how things were.

I wonder if I could even find a Christmas pic from when I was a kid some where to add a then & now layout. I found a movie on Amazon prime that I haven't seen in s while. I have it on VHS and thought I wonder if it's streaming anywhere. I was thrilled to find it online. I watched it and still thought it was cute and took s few pictures of the TV and plan to do a layout about it. I had the record of it when I was a kid. The movie was santa and the three bears. It's sappy and horrible quality and the graphics were from the 70s but it brings back memories and think it will be a fun layout. I am sure for some things like this you can find photos online and then journal your memories even if it's not your photo.

Hum, how about the christmas lights you see every year? That special house, the town lights, the inside of Target when it is packed, pics of your fav holiday food packages, a pic of you in the full length mirror when you are dressed up for that holiday party. Keep in mind your holiday party may be much like mine. A cozy pj set, a bowl of popcorn and a holiday movie, alone. ( yes i have to wait for my kids to go to bed)
Yes, some of them, maybe most of them will be repeats. BUT! It will not be in vain. That favorite home decorated? It might not be there next year. Those home owners could move! The town lights? They will have changed in 10 years. Holiday food packages? Rip gingerbread marshmellows, you were one of my favorites.
Lets say in 10 years, you have whipped up 10 albums. Take them and consolidate them. Take out the 9 of the ten pics of your favorite decorated house.
And boring? Who is going to care 100 years from now what barbie my kid got for christmas, but your album? What a snapshot of what the real holidays were during this time frame. Why you could be the next Laura Ingalls. All she wrote about was every day happenings. Those things were happening to everyone. The difference was she documented them.
I also want to add I plan on my daily december to be 25-31ish pages of holiday memories. Daily? Ummmm, my brain doesn't work that way. I will add the numbers later.

I made two DD this year. One I plan on using as all of our Christmases together. So I will have a picture from 1994 until now and then a few more years to go.

I'm as boring as they come. We do nothing special at all but I'm doing my first DD this year. Also go on Pinterest and type in "December Daily Prompts" you will get tons of topics to cover for people who don't have a lot of things going on.

This post just completely sold me on December Daily. Well, at least, committing more to my Christmas scrapbook, which contains more than one year. While I was concerned with just documenting what events we attend, and Christmas Day, having all these little memories later on would be delightful!

I have a simple life too. My big holiday excitement was decorating my tabletop tree tonight, lol. It's so pretty and I can't wait to document it. I don't go to parties, my family is just me & my husband.
Things you can do. You could write a Christmas story. Make Christmas lists of favorite things like movies, food, TV shows, or simple traditions. We all have simple traditions even with our simple Christmas times like maybe driving around to see the lights, the first cup of Starbucks Peppermint coffee, favorite Christmas tea. Ideas like that.
Things I do for my December Daily. I document my tree. I theme it different every year. I make a list of Christmas things that I did for the day. I put it on one of those cute $1 notepads. By the time Christmas is over it's half filled at least. Like it might be watched Rudolph, Listened to Trans-Siberian Orchestra CD, watched a PBS Christmas special.
I make collages in my December Daily of Christmas items I find like images from magazines, cards I received, etc... I do art journaling in my December Daily.
I hope that helps.

I don't do December Daily bcz it seems like it would be too hectic for me, and I need to put my efforts towards baking and things like that. But this year I am attempting to journal daily and pull a few important stories out of the season to scrap.
I sorta did this in 2012 with a paper bag album and just scrapped specific days based on events.
I think making it work for you makes total sense. I don't have kids, so there's not always a whole lot going on related to Christmas for me.
I am going to try to post my stories on my blog and for now I think I will just use a small notebook to record things. I also journal in a phone app called Day One. Then I will decide how to make layouts. I had an idea to make a two page layout and just put one little line about each day, so may still try that.

You all convinced me to do a modified version of DD again this year. It won't be every day, but it will document the things I/we do for the holidays.
I realized that I have to lower the bar in a way. I have to enjoy the little things, even if we have no big things, ya know?
So, I let kidlet decorate window with window clings. Took a pic of his smiling face, shining with pride.
I bought a coloring book & have the younger kids color the holiday scene. I'll snap a pic & include it.
I plan on driving around to see the Christmas lights with all the kids one night this month.
I'm thinking of making a special hot cocoa night.
Thank you for all your ideas and support. You are awesome!

This is my second real attempt at a DD... No kids, small family, not a lot of decorating or trad ions or cooking etc... Last year I tried but it was so flimsy and sad looking...lol This year I'm planning on filling it full of Christmas stuff I like... My favourite wrapping paper, favourite cards, the Christmas scrapbooking and embellishments I love... Almost more of a smash book or art journal - a collection of cute Christmas things... I'll add in pictures or writing if there's a reason to... Otherwise it'll just be a scrapbook of pretty things Some things that I have found that I can document are carols I like, movies I watch, specialty drinks or snacks, clipping from Christmas catalogues, newspaper articles about holiday events, funny memes or fb posts, pictures of nature (it's unusually warm here this year), this year's stamps (snail mail), favourite sayings/lyrics... It's mostly generic stuff, but it'll be a collection of my favourites and I think it'll be nice to play and look at an album of that...

Just working on the pages makes me feel more "Christmas-y". We had a few hectic years and those pages helped me feel like I was participating in the season, not just driving past it. I don't do a DD, but I've wanted to do a holiday album highlighting are memories. This year is CRAAA-ZZY! to say the least. Everything is so different. If working on pages making you feel more Christmas-y, I'm thinking this would be good for our family. Thanks!

Daily albums don't work for me, but making pages and mini- books let me play with all the pretty embellishments, even if it's for fifteen minutes here and there.

I did my first DD in 2013 with every intention of doing one last year. I don't know if last year had been especially busy, hectic or what, but I didn't do it. I have no small children at home, my grandchildren aren't small anymore and December is ALWAYS so hectic....yet I have to remind myself that despite all that, I enjoyed making the 2013 DD. Since there isn't Christmas activities every day, I created pages documenting my favorite movies, favorite carols, took pictures of gift wrapping. Since I make some of the gifts, I took pictures of that, too. I also love to save personalized Christmas cards that I receive; i.e., the ones with letters and the photo cards, so I created a pocket page in my DD that year and put those in it. All in all, it turned out really well and I love it...but I just can't bring myself to start another one.
Go figure.

I don't do December Daily. I have a Christmas Album. It usually consists of 1 Christmas Eve page with the 3 kids and 3 separate pages for each kid. There are different pages occasionally thrown in. This year my daughter is in A Christmas Carol, so that may go into the album.
