Is there a really good To-Do app?
one with reminders?
repeating items if needed?
maybe on a day to day basis?
Not tied into a main synced calendar?
im struggling to get things done. I'm struggling to remember to do even basic stuff sometimes. The rest of the family doesn't want it on their COZI.

I feel like I've tried a gazillion of them. Many people like Any.Do. And Toodledo. I was meh about them. But you may like.
Right now I'm testing out 2 Days and I think I like it!

Wunderlist is the best I have found. You can set due dates, reminders, make notes, and create subtasks. It's a list app only and not tied to any calendar. Wunderlist was just purchased by Microsoft. It's my dream that Wunderlist will be incorporated into Outlook at some point in the near future.

I hated Todoist, I kept getting pop up reminders that I didn't complete my list.

If you have an iPhone, the native Reminders app does all that you are looking for. It improved a lot a few iOS upgrades ago.

Anyone know of one that I can add items by voice? You can do that with the native Reminders app on iOS. I use something else for to dos, but I love Reminders for my shopping/errands lists. I can be in the middle of cooking and have filthy hands and just say "Hey Siri, add X to the grocery list" without touching the phone and it's there.

I can't seem to add to specific lists. I'll try again, thanks.

I use one called Remember the Milk. Nice thing is that there is also a computer app and they sync.

I love Todoist. You can hook it to your calendar or not - I don't. You can get reminders or not - I don't
You can have things repeat every day or 3 days a week or once a year. Whatever.
You can set up subcategiries. So I have house: kitchen: cupboards.
If you can set up 4 levels of priorities. If you don't finish them all one day it will stay on the list till you take it off.
You can do it on your computer or app and it syncs together.
There is only one thing I wish it had: a priority tool where is has you rate one item above another till they are all done. I've seen apps specifically made for that, but that is all they do. The idea with the levels with Todoist goes along with Steven Covey's priority grid. I'd just like to break down the top level into specific priority.

I use Asana for work. I have added my personal stuff there too. It is simple I love that I can assign tasks to others. I often add things to my boss's list he likes it too.
If I had a partner I would add him as well.

I'd suggest a small tablet of paper and a pen.

I do exactly this when cooking too, except I still need a clean finger to press the home button to speak to Siri. Hey Siri doesn't work for me unless my phone is connected to the power, and I just do that overnight.

I'd suggest a small tablet of paper and a pen. LOL. That's what I use. It's much handier than my phone and easy. Honestly, i love my phone, but the act of writing down a list and crossing things off is somehow much more effective for me. Plus, it really is faster to take a pen to a piece of paper than to unlock the phone, open an app, and type in the task.

So I just got to do List and I am Confused- I've added a bunch of tasks to my list. How do I check them off? The only option I see if to hit edit and delete them?!

I've tried a few and have finally settled on something that works for me.
I am a big google calendar user. I use google tasks so that things show on my calendar with everything else. I can add tasks right in the computer in my google calendar. But, since I use an iPhone, I use gTasks to allow them to show on my phone. gTasks also allows you to have things repeat at a specified schedule.
I love that I can look at my calendar on my computer and see everything.

I end up with a hundred pieces in paper that might have made sense at one time but later no idea.

I use Alarmed. Suits my needs. I've not tried Siri with it, that would be even better if that worked. I might try that next time I need to add something.

It is still the same good task collector. However, I've gone back to using the native Reminder iOS app. It's gotten so much better since this thread was created in 2015.

I use COZI right now and it's a ton of "clicks" to find the app, open the app, go to the right list and then a couple more to get the item added to the list! Ohhhhhhh, this would be AWESOME!
