Ugh, I hate they way they have Amazon set up to see the lightning and cyber deals now. Instead of showing all of them, they seem to want you to pick a category. I liked when they were shown by time-line because it sometimes gave me ideas that I never considered! I don't have time to search by each category! Or am I looking at this wrong? LOL

I prefer to look by category when there are hundreds of deals available, because my eyes get tired trying to decipher all the small images!

If you scroll down to the bottom of the deals, there should be a box that says "All Lightning Deals." Click on that and it should bring them up.
It's still not great though. It's almost like if I click on something to see if I like it, I still can't go back to where I was. I have to start almost from the beginning again. (I complained about that last year.)

It says that all books are 30% off, when do I see that because it's not reflected in my shopping cart.

It says that all books are 30% off, when do I see that because it's not reflected in my shopping cart. So...I opened up a chat window with customer service. They are aware that the promo isn't working. What the CS rep did for me was to give me a credit in my account that equaled 30%. I also complained about yet another Prime order that is on the way that doesn't hold to the two-day shipping and he extended my Prime for a month. These things are nice, but one shouldn't have to 'take action' for things to go right.

Does that include kindle books too? I don't *think* so, but the Kindle books are having their own big sale today! Today only, save up to 85% on over 800 Kindle books.

You have to enter in the code HOLIDAY30 when checking out to get the 30% off. Unfortunately, the deal is only for one printed book per account. Here's a link to the details: Amazon 30% off one book

I've given up looking at the deals there this year. I keep clicking the button to show them all and it just shows the same 20 or 30. There used to be hundreds, I don't get it. That's ok, I really don't need to spend a bunch of money anyway.

I got the credit for all the books in my cart but I guess that is ok, because I had to inconveniently chase around for it. Can't they TEST these things before going live with them???

Do they still do the refund if something you buy goes on sale less than 30 days after you buy it?
Yes, Amazon has gotten very complicated. It's harder to shop there than it used to be. I still love it,but there have been some frustrations lately.

But if you do a live chat or have them call they will sometimes credit the difference.

I still love it,but there have been some frustrations lately. I dislike how most of the deals are products they have branded or co-partner on. I feel like they are funneling me to their products, and that is not what Amazon used to be about.

Ugh. I'm trying to order a couple of prime items. When I place them in my cart they are no longer Prime and I am charged about $6 shipping each! Chat is having connection problems.

I had a similar problem tonight--I was purchasing a couple of the Ancestry DNA kits being discussed in another thread. The kits shows as Prime, yet when I was checking out, I see it's charging me s/h. I didn't want to miss the sale, so just chose the free shipping (longer delivery). I sent an email to C/S, though.

That just happened to me! I right clicked on my cart at the top right and opened it in a new window and the shipping was correct. Ugh. Thank goodness I looked at the total before I submitted the order! They were charging me $20 in shipping that should have been free.

I'm annoyed that 3 different products I bought from them on Black Friday are packaged in nothing but a brown cardboard box. These three items in question are toys and they came in what essentially amounts to a shipping box with a sticker that has a barcode and the name of the product inside. Two of the listings had pictures of the brightly colored box, but I get a plain cardboard box and there was no indication in the description that's how it would be packaged. What the heck?
Those packages will be such a disappointment on Christmas after the wrapping paper comes off.

The good news is that once those brown boxes are open, everyone will be happy. And if anyone tries to peek at a present, they won't be able to tell from the box!

You can change it to retail packaging when ordering.

Frustration free packaging? That's what it is?
I never noticed where I could select the packaging type. Guess I'm going to have to look more closely at everything I purchase from now on!
Thanks, ladies!

Thanks, ladies! I'm not sure it's that's the frustration-free packaging or not. I know that on some items I have bought before, you can pick cheaper options by choosing to accept items that aren't in manufacturer's packaging. I cannot for the life of me remember how they term it but I've seen it before when I have picked the cheapest price for an item. It will say, "This item comes packaged _____" which means in generic boxes. I've enjoyed the cheaper priced versions like this when it is something for myself, or a gift for someone I know isn't all hung up on boxes, lol. But when I ordered a picky family member something I skipped getting the awesome price and took the fancy box. I knew she'd look down her nose at it even though the box gets tossed. Not all items have this option, so yeah, you must have missed it in the listing. Don't worry, it's just a box. You very likely got it cheaper because of a generic box. I think it shocks us (if we don't realize beforehand) because we look at it and think of used or second-hand. What probably happens is that the boxes get destroyed or have errors on them so instead of tossing the whole item, they toss the box, put the brand-new item in a generic box and mark it down for a better deal.
