I'd like to move away from the plastic storage we have been using to heat things up in the microwave.
. Any ideas?

I use the Pyrex a bunch. I have several rectangular in a size that's like microwave dinner size. I also have 2 rectangles that are a little bigger. I also have 2 cup round ones.
If I run out of them, I have plastic rubbermaid containers that I use...I just dump into a bowl before tossing it in the microwave.
I've also found that mason jars are great for taking soup to work.

DH much prefers warming his lunches in Pyrex, so we have quite a few. We saw a variety pack at Sam's Club and bought that for emergencies.
For lunches, we mostly pack 2 cup rounds and squares. For larger servings, we have some1 quart rounds and rectangles. No tomato stains and easier to de-grease than plastic. We love them!

Those tiny ones that come in the multi-size containers are useless to me! I've been searching for large size, and have had to buy them singly.
I've also discovered that I don't have any real judgement or idea of size when the containers are described in terms of cup capacity.

I don't use special containers for microwaving things at home. I mean, if I have leftovers that I know I'm going to heat up in the microwave, I just put them in a regular bowl and heat right in that. I have some small Corning Ware casserole dishes, too, so if there are two servings of something, the leftovers can easily go in there.

Target has some nice looking multisize sets when I was there last. Saw them on an end cap.
