In case anyone was wondering...
Piper has stopped bleeding, about 2 weeks after she started. I talked to my vet and the humane society. It was decided at this point that maybe she was too close to her cycle when she was spayed and this is a one time thing. I asked the humane society to mark her file, if she goes into heat again, I will be calling back. If she needs more surgery, they will be taking care of it.
Now that we have had her for a month, she is fitting in nicely. We had a little issue where she got wild one day home alone, so for now she is in a crate during the day. I feel she was never a puppy because she was having puppies, so she is going back to that now. Other than that, she is a sweet girl and loves her Mama!

We rescued the sweetest little girl pup from the humane society a week ago Saturday (11/21). She was spayed on 11/20. She started bleeding on 11/27.
Took her to vet on Saturday, 11/28. Vet thinks it is just remnant tissue, the discharge may be due to a couple of things. What we know is that she had at least one litter of puppies, the humane society says she had 2 litters. She is about 1 1/2 - 2 years old. Vet thinks depending on how soon after her last litter they did the spay, she may have had a larger uterus and therefore the bleeding.
It is now a spot every time we change her diaper, brownish, so to me it seems she should be done soon. When she started, it was bright red.
Has anyone had this happen with your dog? How long did the discharge happen? Vet said a couple days. Just looking for some reassurance!
Thanks!
Picture coming. Having issues getting one uploaded. I know the rules!!
