I am beginning to think dd is allergic to an ingredient in cetaphil. This is what her derm suggested. However, she also has peri-oral dermatitis. One of the main causes of this is sulfates.
Any suggestions for sulfate free cleansers and moisturizers?

I sell one through Youngevity. It's what I have been using for almost 2 years and finally my son started using it. Message me if you'd like more info.

I use straight jojoba oil to wash my face. Would her dermatologist go for that?

Have a look at the Paula's Choice range. They have all the ingredients listed for their products so you can easily check what has sulphate in it. There's one called Earth Sourced Perfectly Natural Cleansing Gel that contains: Plus they are all fragrance and color free, so less chance of reacting to those, and not tested on animals. And at $17 US, relatively cheap as well. While I don't use this product, I've been using their other products for over 10 years and been very happy with them and think they are great value.

I believe cerave is sulfate free. My derma recommended cetaphil and I didn't like it. I switched to cerave foaming face wash for my oily skin and really like it. They also have other types for different skin needs. I don't have any experience with their moisturizer, but based on how I like the face wash, I'd certainly try it.

I don't know if it's sulfate free, but my dermatologist recommends Cerave. I have used the moisturizers for a few years. Cetaphil dries me out.

I second Paula's Choice. I have used the wash posted above and it's a good one.

Dove Sensitive Skin bar. Less than $10 for a package of like 8 bars...and can be used on both your face and body. I have been using it for a gazillion years and my skin is wonderful. There are no sulfates and it is incredibly mild and non-drying. I think people kind of dismiss this when I mention it because it seems like it isn't...I don't know, trendy enough? But it works wonderfully for me. I do use an exfoliate once a week or so, but I am old and figure it is time for that.

It works well for us.

Consider asking your pharmacist. They have lots of great tips.

Cetaphil made my dd break out more.
The dermatologist said it was probably the parabens.

I use the Neutrogena gentle cleanser. It doesn't have parabens or sulfates and it's not expensive.

Cerave is awesome. Cetaphil dries me out. I tried CeraVe on a lark and it's great. I can feel that it cleans my skin but it doesn't dry.

I use plain old Dove soap. I had continual breakouts until I was 36. At that point I switched to only Clinique lotion and stopped breaking out completely. At 45 I started getting rosacea outbreaks on my cheeks in the winter. I was prescribed Metro Gel and told to use CeraVe for moisturizer. The metro gel works great, but the CeraVe made me breakout. Now Clinique has the cream lotion that is working well for winter.
