December first already!! Wow! Time really does fly! If I were eating I think I'd let my friend Randy take me out for dinner tonight. We both love 5Guys and a cheeseburger sounds pretty yummy to me right now. With ketchup and lots of pickles What are you planning for dinner tonight?

Believe it or not, but we are having cheeseburgers. I have been thinking about having a burger for days and today is the day it will happen.

Oldest ds has marching band practice from 6-8. Totally crappy time, right in the middle of dinner. I pulled meatballs from the freezer to have with pasta/zoodles. Not very exciting, but it's quick and easy. This week is one of those week's when we seem to have something going on every single night. Time to figure out more quick dinners.

Randy? Is that the same guy we were teasing you about a while back? Just curious. We are invited to DS's girlfriend's mother's birthday dinner at Black Angus. On the one hand ... Black Angus, meh. On the other hand ... free dinner! I'm there!

5 Guys sounds delicious. I'd better not say that too loudly or the two teen boys will hear.... I am back to "I have no idea." I could continue to eat leftovers, but I think the kids would complain! The turkey is nearly gone, but I have a bit of everything else. And I still have soup, too, although I am sticking some in the freezer. So to answer the question, I don't know. Following this thread for ideas. Lisa ETA: I didn't exactly find ideas on this thread. However, I did realize that I have bacon in the fridge and planned to bake that with omelets with cheese one night last week. That didn't happen last week, but it will tonight. It's amazing what happens when you look in your fridge. You actually find dinner ideas!

I had a change of heart last night and made a quick linguine alfredo instead of the black beans and rice and had enough left over for a late lunch/early dinner.
Probably.
Maybe.
I think.

On the other hand ... free dinner! I'm there! Yep, that's Randy. My non- romantic companion of sorts. We're both widowed, we live close to each other and get along well. More like a brother and sister if you will which seems to suit both of our needs. I haven't been to a Black Angus in years, I didn't realize there were any left but it's dinner and someone else is buying? Yeah, I'd go too.

I have a Dr appt after work, so I will make paninis when I get home, assuming they aren't running too far behind. If they are, probably some sort of fast food. (Blech)
We ended up having McDonald's. The doctors office wasn't too far behind, but I ended up getting a cortisone shot in my right elbow, a flu shot and a tetanus (with pertussis) shot in my left arm, and six skin tags burned off right along my breastbone. After being jabbed that many times, I wasn't really wanting to cook!

If I get back from the appointment I have to take my mom to, it's a Thai Chicken recipe I found. (Not an actual Thai dish, but a Thai flavored chicken breast). If I don't get back in time I will suggest to DH that he feed the boys from the gallons of goulash we have left over.

I picked up a rotisserie chicken from Costco so I'm going to make asian chicken wraps and boil the carcass down for soup tomorrow.

After a busy week last week I'm absolutely fried. Hoping acupuncture today will help me recover. So, tonight it's leftovers, cause we have a lot of them and I'll probably go into bed early.
If I could eat I'd have a mushroom burger w/coleslaw on the side. Oh, that sounds so good. When you eat in your mind and not for real then you don't have to count calories or fat grams.

Coleslaw on the side side sounds perfect! "Waitress, I'd like to change my order!! Along with the imaginary cheeseburger with extra pickles, I'd like an imaginary side of crisp coleslaw and bring my friend scrapmaven another adult beverage please ."

I had a bag of hash browns taking up precious freezer space so I pulled that out, grabbed some smoked sausage while I was rummaging around in there, combined those with some other things and dumped it in the crockpot. I'm calling it Crockpot Southwestern Sausage and Hash Browns. I'm creative like that. Most likely, there's a recipe online, but I was too busy shopping to look for one. I'll serve it with roasted broccoli and whatever other vegetables I throw on the pan, sliced apples and orange sections, and texas sheet cake for dessert. The funeral sandwiches were a hit last night. I put dinner on the table and they were somewhat skeptical. I told them that all of my friends on the message board highly recommend them, and if my friends like them, you will too. Now, let's eat!

I dug into the freezer for some pulled pork barbecue. It seems a welcome change from T-day leftovers. I'mm making sides of rice, roasted asparagus, and a squash casserole.

We picked something up on the way home from the eye doctor. I have Retinitis Pegmentosa which hasn't gotten any worse in 3 years. Staying the same is good with this eye disease. Anyway we have this neat Mom & Pop restaurant near the house called "Come Back Inn". So we stopped and picked up a hamburger steak with mashed potatoes, green beans and coleslaw. I got a tuna po-boy (dressed). To top it all off, we got a large order of their Fried Onion Rings which are always delicious!!!!! I only ate 1/2 my po-boy saving the rest for tomorrow.

T-day leftovers are so done...I can't, even one more night, go there. But we are staying in the T-day mood with Mac and Cheese and a big salad. Our property backs up to hundreds of acres of woods...some little critters are about to discover their own turkey dinner tonight. I'm tossing what's left.

I've got lots of cooked chicken in the fridge that needs used, but I don't really have a set plan yet. Maybe enchiladas? Maybe alfredo? Any ideas?
