I know it's listed as a pretty common side effect, but wanted to see if we had any real-life experience here.
I started taking it on Monday night, hoping to head off the December/January cedar pollen allergies here before they start. I had a mild headache on Monday (before I took it) which I attributed to not getting as much sleep as I did over the holiday week. Woke up Tuesday morning with a more mid-level headache that eventually went away. Then Tuesday night I slept restlessly as I had a headache and since I woke up this morning (about 5.5 hours ago) I've had a pretty awful migraine. There's no other identifiable cause that I can think of. I'm in pretty dim room, I've had caffeine and taken what meds I can take, and nothing is helping yet. (Yes, I'm a chronic migraine and headache sufferer, so I'm not worried about something freakishly weird or anything.)
So, wondering if Peas have had similar experiences at all, and if so, did the side effect go away after a couple of weeks of use? It does seem to be helping from an allergy standpoint, but I can't keep using it if this is going to be my every day!

I had headaches with two puff dose rec'd by Dr, so I reduced to one and got benefits without side effects.

I've had headaches with other Rx sprays too-, but not all- in my experience they don't go away Unless dosage changed or product stopped.

I'm just doing one per side. Thanks for sharing your experience with other ones, too. I know it isn't necessarily the rule for everyone, but... (On the bright side, I'm mostly functional now after a very hot, almost 30 minute shower. Wasteful, but helpful.)

Sorry it won't help! Maybe try a different spray?

RosieKat The only time I had issues with headaches on Flonase was when I was actually sniffing it up as I sprayed. Once my doctor told me you aren't supposed to do that, I didn't have any more issues.

So sorry you have that side-effect. We have been using it for years, and thankfully we don't get that. We have plenty of other headaches for other reasons. Anyway, we find it works amazing. I have quit taking Zyrtec and Singulair because Flonase works so well. We do one on each side 2x a day (so morning and evening).

littlemama, I thought that's how you're supposed to do it...maybe I'll try just "squirting" it tonight. (That sounds kinda dirty, lol...)

Yes, I had that problem with Flonase. Switched to Nasacort and no more headaches.

littlemama , I thought that's how you're supposed to do it...maybe I'll try just "squirting" it tonight. (That sounds kinda dirty, lol...) Lol, that does sound bad! You are supposed to tip your head forward, squirt the Flonase without sniffing, and then just use a Kleenex to dab your nostrils if it tries to escape (and it will!). After a few minutes, you can gently sniff it up. I used Flonase for years before I mentioned to my doctor that it made my sinuses burn (like getting water in my nose) and gave me a headache. He explained how it is really supposed to be done! Good luck!

So I tried just squirting it last night, lol, and while I am headachy today, it isn't horrible. I'll stick with it, and see how it goes. I might also try the Nasacort or something else - I just hate throwing money away to experiment!
