Had to leave for ds' ballgame before the mail came today. No big deal, I grabbed it just now when we got home at 9pm. There is a letter in there from my OB/GYN saying they've been trying to reach me by phone (yet I haven't gotten a call) and I need to call them right away regarding my ultrasound results. I had an u/s last week as a follow up to my IUD placement. The tech said the IUD looked perfect then went on to look at my ovaries (since they're poking around they do that just in case) we made small talk. She didn't sound like anything looked weird and I didn't think to ask. And then I get this letter. And I'm freaking out. It's probably nothing, right? I'm resisting the urge to google since nothing good will come of that. But surely it's nothing......except it required a letter...... ahhhhhhhh
Thanks for all the good thoughts! Finally got a hold of them, it's a cyst on my left ovary. Nothing major they just want to do a follow up u/s in a couple months to see what it's doing.

At my OB/GYN, they won't let you leave if the ultrasound tech sees something. They get a doctor and make them take a look right then. Hopefully, it's the same at your office and they sent you a letter for something minor. Hugs.

It's probably just a note to give you an all clear. Even good news is HIPPA protected and your doc's office might have a stringent policy about this. Call and get reassured first thing in the am.

I'm sorry that you're having to wait until tomorrow to find out.
This has happened to me, as well. In my case I got the letter late in the day on Friday and had to wait all weekend to be able to call in. It turns out that I had a Pap smear that came back questionable. I had to have another one that came back clear.
I hope that it turns out to be nothing for you as well.

It could be just to give you your results – even if the results are completely 100% clear.

Ugh. I hate that. I always manage to get those late in the day worrisome letters on Friday!

Since you know they'd haven't attempted to call you, it could be just a form letter used to get patients to contact them for routine results.

Great. So glad it's nothing major but I'm sure it was scary making that call!
