and man lemme tell you it feels good.. What I have completed is Associate of Applied Science Office Applications Asst-AAS and I also have a Medical Office Clerk certificate.. I started out doing the certificate, decided to do the Associates, then took a year off because I needed a paycheck more than I needed homework, then I came to the thought that I could juggle both if I did part time, so I went back..all that took nearly 5 years(the associates *should* have been a 2yr, and the certificate a *1* year in theory anyway..doing a couple classes at a time stretched it out but I was afraid of taking on too much(I did have 3 classes one or 2 semesters) but I don't care that it took me longer, I would be the same age today had I NOT done it.. important part is that I DID it.. If I can do it as a single mom, working a part time job, with no help from anyone for anything and with fibro and eaten up with arthritis and old(I am 42) then that's just proof that ANYONE can do it if they just stick it out.I have continuously been in classes with kids that could have been MY kids, heck even with kids that my older 2 went to school with. Its not so bad being the oldest in the class either(however lots of times i wasn't the oldest), a lot of the younger ones know you are a source of information and assistance lol.. I have had many thoughts of quitting, many times where I struggled with schoolwork so bad that I sat here in tears, not always just because of the work, but just overwhelmed and exhausted in general. I currently have a 3.6 overall but that's not counting the actual current semester as its not technically over yet.. but I don't expect that gpa will change much once these 2 classes are factored in so anyway if any of you clicked on the *whats for dinner* thread today, this is why I am NOT cooking tonight LOL

Wonderful! What a great accomplishment. You shouldn't cook for a week, at least!

You are the reason the bell curve was against me in college! It always seemed the people that had the most going on in their lives were the ones who were the best students. Congratulations to you. That was no easy feat. I am ever thankful to my parents who told me that going to college was not an option and it would be much harder to go back than to just keep going from high school. You should take the rest of the week off of cooking.

Congratulations!! You must feel so proud of yourself and rightly so! What you have achieved should come with an automatic pass on cooking for a week.

Congratulations. I am in awe of you. That is a big accomplishment especially being a single mom. What a great role model you are for your children. Enjoy some well deserved time off.

Congratulations!! I went back to finish my degree in my late forties. I was older than many of my professors. While I was doing it i was exhausted. But looking back all I remember is the excitement of learning.
