I am so done with online shopping. Out of the 5 orders I placed between Thanksgiving and November 30, 3 of them have been screwed up.
Kohls, after four days and shipping 1 of 4 shirts just informed me that one shirt is sold out and the other two are still in fulfillment. Just waiting for those to get cancelled too.
Target has taken over a week to even update my order. Called today and they were like oops it got missed. Looks like it should be fulfilled, but who knows.
I put a large order into Amazon with my Prime shipping. They broke it into four shipments which isn't unusual. Get shipping notice for first one. The day it is due to be delivered get a notice that it is delayed by carrier because they left it at their facility so it would be two more days. Annoying, but no big deal. Next three shipments get tracking numbers. This morning two day out for delivery, one says on its way. About 3 hours later get an email that the last package was yet again left at the facility and would be delayed two days. Of course this is the stuff I needed tomorrow.
Called UPS and was told tough luck. It was Amazon's fault for how they shipped it. No explanation why it was left or how it was guaranteed delivered today. Call Amazon and they say it was sent correctly and not sure what the problem is. She calls UPS five times to try and find a solution and they tell her no, nothing they are willing to do at all. So now I have to wait for it to be delivered so I can return it since it is so late.
Aaarrrggghhh!!!!! If you made it through that thanks for letting me vent.

I've been very fortunate other than items delivered USPS-they have arrived somewhere on the correct day- at a home with an address nowhere near ours, in my garden, hanging off the edge of my porch. I have one order I am getting concerned about. when I ordered, the item was backorded til 11.30. No shipping notification. I looked up the item today and it is now backorder until 12.11. The bad thing is that I only ordered this item so I would have something to wrap as notification of something else that won't arrive until January!

I am having a lot of issues with UPS this last week. I know it's the holidays and it's their busy time of year...but it is every year. They should be prepared! Luckily for me my current screwed up shipment isn't a big deal and isn't time sensitive like the one last week. It's just frustrating though. I have no problems with FedEx or USPS, why won't Amazon let me choose which carrier I prefer?

Let's see... I ordered clothes from Costco on Thanksgiving Day and they arrived yesterday UPS. Ordered books from Barnes & Noble on Thanksgiving, half came yesterday and the other half came today, both USPS. Ordered a toy from Amazon on Thanksgiving (not Prime, because it was cheaper even with shipping from another vendor) and it's still in transit with expected delivery by Dec. 7th. Ordered some video game stuff ship to store from Target on Friday and picked it up the same day, within two hours. Ordered a different toy with Prime on Monday that they said would maybe take longer, and it arrived on Wednesday via USPS. So all in all, my experiences this year have been pretty good.

That is pretty bad. I will never order from Kohls, they are way too slow. I find Target's ste so slow I usually give up.
Lands End is great. I rarely have any problems with Amazon.

That would be very annoying. I have been fortunate so far, no problems with any of my orders.

My experience has been exactly opposite.
My kohls order was here entirely 3 business days upon ordering (13 items).
My cyber Monday order came in part on Wednesday - 36 hours after ordering!
We are what I would consider more rural.

I ordered from Kohl's last Monday morning, as that is when the sale started and chose the 'pick up at store'. About 4 hours later, I had an email and drove to the store and picked up everything. I was able to return some things that I thought would not fit some people on my list. Paid with my Kohl's card, got my Kohl's cash. Took about 15 minutes. Done. While I was in the USA, I also stopped by Target, Walmart, Joann's & Big Lots. When I came back to Canada, I declared everything (I have NEXUS and will not do anything to loose that 'Trusted Traveller' status). I had a lot of stuff and only had to pay the HST (13%) on the non-grocery items. It was still worth it, as it was about $20.00 CDN. I was able to purchase stuff that was either not available in Canada or a much higher price in Canada. Before anyone brings in the exchange rate, I purchased a lot of US$ when it was above par.
No waiting for delivery or fullfillment or anything.
Most things I buy in person, except Legos and David's Tea advent calendar.
Maybe because I am Canadian and the whole on-line thing isn't that readily available in Canada? OR the shipping costs in Canada are higher so I might as well drive to the mall & buy the stuff.
Maybe because I like to "see" what I am buying, thereby not having issues with delivery & returns.

I've been trying to order from Finish Line for days. They keep telling me my credit card numbers are invalid (they're not). They have also told me my PayPal is invalid (it isn't). I have tried to contact them via email and online chat, but their site says they are unavailable, even though the hours are posted and I'm well within the "open" hours in my time zone (and theirs).
To add insult to injury, they've started sending me emails about the items remaining in my online cart saying, "Don't just walk out on us!" REALLY??? I've tried three different methods of payment and two different methods of contacting you and all have failed and you're going to send me a message like that? Hmpf!

I ordered something prime on Amazon on Monday for DD's formal on Saturday. I debated doing this and made sure that it says prime and that it will be delivered yesterday, Dec 2 lIke prime should be delivered. I made sure of this because a couple of months ago Amazon switched delivery dates between the time I clicked that last button and when the confirmation email hit my box. I wait for my email and see it is set to be delivered Wed as promised.
Except, that I misread the email. It is Wed, Dec 9. Things have been switched on me again! Discovered that today. The excuse is that it is coming from China. Or because of the festivities. Um, no. If you mark it as prime then you better plan for it not to be shipping from China.

So far I haven't had a single problem with online shopping or shipping. Everything has shown up, nothing was cancelled. I have one last order through Amazon that I'm waiting for the shipping notification (ordered yesterday).
I've been lucky in my dealings with online shopping and shipping.

Knock on wood, I've gotten all but 1 box/delivery and hoping that one comes today. I ordered Target, Fanatics, Belk (regional dept store) and Amazon Prime. However, my Amazon stuff was in 5 different orders because I would think of more to order after I already placed one LOL....but in a way that worked well. Delivery people probably hate me!
I try not to order from Kohl's unless I am willing to wait a few weeks to get whatever I am ordering. Their fulfillment is just slllllooooooowwwww.
That said, at this time of year I am trying to give myself plenty of lead time and not ordering anything without at least a week out from the need.

I ordered a printer from Newegg and am going through the same delivery scenario. I've never seen the "delayed by carrier because they left it at their facility" message before! I guess it's not too weird since you got it, too.
Printer is now supposed to come today. We'll see.

I've had really bad luck with JoAnns. Just about every order I've placed from there has had a problem. Usually one, two or three items are not in stock. The last order half of it wasn't in stock and there was an item that was listed on the packing slip but not in the box!
I've had good luck with Target. I've never had a problem. Of course I'm expecting several item from them and now that I've said I've had good luck I've probably jinxed myself!

I am so sorry that you have been frustrated with your ordering. AND I admit, with those issues I would be also.
I placed several orders last week and one on Monday. All of them have made it here either on time or actually a day early in 2 cases. All items ordered were delivered also.
I hope that all of your orders show up.

I ordered tights from Gymboree for my niece on Thanksgiving day.
I didn't make an account, just ordered as a guest.
I saw the "pending" charge on my VISA that weekend.
Now, the pending charge is not showing up, nor an actual charge, and I've never received a confirmation from Gymboree.
That's really fast!
I have "AM I LOSING MY MIND?!?" moments shopping Amazon, because of this sort of 'switcheroo'. I feel like I *KNOW* I checked the shipping promises, and they somehow change after I order items sometimes. And as for the China shipped/Prime promises, I totally agree with you! I guess Prime isn't promising 2 day shipping any more? Just free shipping.

I have had terrible luck with Joanns for years and it seems to be getting worse so why I order from them is a mystery except that their sales are good and oh yeah, you can't find any of it in a physical store. They are slow. I ordered on Thanksgiving and Saturday and still haven't received any shipping confirmation. I have looked at the items since and at least 4 of them say out of stock now so that makes me see the potential writing on the wall. I never get an order without at least one cancellation and have received shipments where stuff is on the packing slip but missing from the box just like threegirls or I was shipped the wrong items. Grrrrr..... working with their customer service is a nightmare. Most of my ordered items have arrived with any problems and I say that as I knock on a wall. I did have one item delayed that was from Amazon Prime but only by a day and it wasn't needed. I don't generally care if the stuff makes it within the two days but I can see why it would be annoying because they shouldn't guarantee something that they might not be able to fulfill. Let's try to remember, with all the stress of Christmas and shopping, that these still are other humans that are mostly trying to do their best and sometimes weather, illness, a host of other things make their task very difficult. I hope everyone still waiting for packages gets them in a timely manner. I appreciate the reviews of companies that are notorious for bad on line service so that I might steer clear myself. Sometimes the ease of shopping from home isn't worth the aggravation.

I ordered some satin gloves I really wanted to wear for a cocktail party tonight. I ended up canceling the order since it would be too late. I'm going to try to run by a bridal/formal wear boutique by my office today at lunch. Hopefully I can find what I need. I'm super peeved at Amazon right now.

I haven't had any issues this year. Which is surprising, because usually something gets "lost". I had the best shipping experience from a company that ships from the UK and I got my order in 4 days! I was amazed. 15 minutes after I place the order, I had a shipping confirmation.

I've done most of my shopping online this year, and have had extremely good and fast deliveries except for one one order from Joann. One item was out of stock after the order was placed, and then according to tracking it was delivered at 3:27 p.m. Someone was at home all day and no package was delivered. I called FedEx and finally was able to talk to a real person. She asked if I had gone to check with my neighbors. I had not. She said they would check on it and about 5:00 the truck stopped in front of the house and there came the driver with my package. She said he had probably scanned it earlier. I didn't think that's how it is supposed to work.

I stick to Amazon. If anyone remembers the big Fiesta Ware sale Bon Ton had, I placed the order for 4 sets for $81.00 and never got it. What I got was a notice that I'd refused the order due to damage. I asked that it be re-sent but instead they refunded my purchase price. I'll never shop at Bon Ton ever. Kohl's puts their Fiesta Ware on sale and then has like scratched pieces out for purchase. I ordered my DD's birthday Fiesta Ware from Amazon and it was great.

I'm sorry, that stinks. Hope your shipping woes work themselves out. I have been extremely lucky and have had the opposite problem(so far. I probably just jinxed myself...hahaha). I just got prime this year And have done a lot more online shopping. In fact my friend and I, who often go out shopping together, sat in her living room just whipping out the online orders. We laughed and joked that this was one of our best shopping trips. I have gotten all my Amazon packages and I am just waiting for a few more from other places. But I have some more things to get so I need to get on it. With all the horror stories out there, who knows how my shipping will go.
