I am supposed to be going on a girls weekend with my sisters and stepmom today. I have really been looking forward to it, although it would involve driving 5 hours each way today and Tomorrow. I have been working long hours this week in order to have today off. Last night I was beat. Went to bed early and decent this morning but still have a runny nose and cough. I am leaning towards staying home just based on how I feel--we are supposed to go out tonight and then shopping tomorrow. I have a feeling j won't be up to staying out late. But I mostly am concerned about being contagious. I have read that you are contagious the first three days, but I have also read that you are contagious as long as you have symptoms. I started to have a sore throat Sunday night and Monday felt like I was coming down with something. Runny nose started Tuesday. So, I am past the three days since symptoms started, but am wondering if that is accurate. We will all be in the same hotel room.
So based on this info, would you go or stay home?

If I was your sister I would want you to come if you felt up to it.
It depends on how often do you get to do something like this, is it a big deal or something you do regularly?
I don't get together with my sister often so I would go and let them know I was feeling under the weather. It sounds like a cold, and quite frankly you can't keep away from germs this time of year.

This is the first time we have done something like this. One of my sisters just turned 21 last week so my other sister suggested we all go and have a weekend together.

A five hour drive when you're sick? No, I wouldn't go.

I would go. These things don't come along very often. I don't think you would regret it.

I would go regardless unless they are the type that germs bug them and they worry about catching it.
Usually the times we question ourselves about doing something/going somewhere, it ends up that they turn out so much better than ever expected.
Regardless of your decision hope you feel better soon.

I would lean towards going, but I would text my sisters/stepmom and ask them their opinion. I feel like it should be up to the "exposed" when there's a chance someone might be sick! So in that situation I usually tell them "These are my symptoms and how long I've had them, I really want to come but totally respect if you don't want to take the chance of getting sick." And leave it up to them.
The reality is that if you're going out shopping, they're just as likely or more to be exposed to something similar or worse than what you have. Purell all around and have fun!

As long as you feel up to it, I would still go. I'd tell the others that I was sick, but I'm sure they would still want us all to get together. You can pretty much get sick anytime you go out, so even if they do get sick, it won't necessarily be from you. It could have been from the other eleventy million people you come in contact with I say all this because a few months ago I went on a girls weekend and one of my friends got sick with a cold the first day. Four days later, when I got home, I was sick. I could have caught it from her, but more likely it was from someone else I encountered on the trip. Go and have fun!

If it was local, I would probably still go. I've done the whole driving hours away and being sick. It wasn't fun...while my friends were out enjoying their time together, I was in a hotel room sick as a dog. Hope you feel better soon though.

I would tell them, hopefully they would still want you to go. Take something for your symptoms and have a great time.
I wish I had sisters to do something like this with, but I would want them to know I wasn't feeling a hundred percent.

This is the first time we have done something like this. One of my sisters just turned 21 last week so my other sister suggested we all go and have a weekend together. I would check with family.. if they are okay. I would go... I hate that you aren't 100% but I bet you will rally a bit having fun with your family.

I would tell them upfront you have a cold and are they still okay with you coming? IF they are the type that are freakish about that, then stay home.
Otherwise, a cold like that? Everyone around me right now has that and I think you should just stock up on Dayquil and go and have fun.

I would go.
You worked extra hard to be able to go, you have been looking forward to it and you will disappoint your mom and sister if you don't go.
Hope you feel better.

As long as they knew and were okay with it, I would go. Especially since this is the first time that the ladies of the family have done this. I wouldn't want to miss it.
