My dog is having surgery today to repair the cruciate ligament in her knee. I have been having bad dreams about it all week. In one dream, they operated on the wrong leg. In another dream, the surgeon got in there and said the damage was way more extensive and she needed a more expensive surgery (which we could not afford). It seemed so wrong to just drop her off today and pick her up tomorrow. I feel bad she's going to wake up in pain and not have her people. I might see if they will let me visit with her after work tonight and stop by there on my way home. Anyway, good thoughts? She's just a really sweet, really laid back dog. And she has been a trouper in pain the past the month or so. I'm sure she'll be fine.

I'm sure she'll be fine and when she sees you she'll be so happy!

My dog had it in April. They will keep her very comfortable with meds, and you will have meds at home for her, too.
The hardest part is limiting (aka stopping) your dog from being at all active for the next two months. I used drugs for that, too.

Sending good healing thoughts....my 15 year old cocker had spinal surgery 4 years ago...and when the surgeon was done she said she didn't think it was successful because of all the damage, etc. But here we are 4 years out and she is still running around like a pup....
Hugs to all...

She is a very big, very playful dog. We have already hidden her toys. And I got a special stash of bones from the butcher for her.

When our dog was reunited with her toys it was like a scene in a movie when two people are running toward each other in slow motion. I wish I had it on video. I've never seen her so happy.

Ditto the remark that they seem to do a good job with pain meds from my experience.

Oh, I pray it goes well. One of my guys is having surgery today too but he is just being neutered. I too am worried about the limited activity especially when his brothers miss him and will want to play. Let us know how it goes.

My dog is out of surgery. She's awake and eating. She seems to be doing OK.

Aww glad she's doing ok after surgery. I hope she has a super quick and full recovery and is back to her normal playful self before you know it. ((Hugs)) to both of you.

So glad it's over and she's awake. Now the healing can start.
