I've been catching up with my DVR'd episodes. I absolutely love this show. Sure, some of the stories wrap up a little too neat and the medical technicalities are probably far fetched, but I'm okay with that. I think this is the absolute best role I've ever seen Marcia Gay Harden play. Luis Guzmán is my absolute favorte actor in this series playing the lead nurse Jesse. Their characters' interactions are especially good. Raza Jaffrey is also great and not to hard on the eyes I've liked him as actor since I first saw him in the BBC series, MI-5. I'm guaranteed a good cry each episode. I just watched last week's episode with the actual touring cast of "Lion King". What they did at the end was truly perfection. What a fantastic idea that was, just having them be part of the episode. Anyway, I had to get that off my chest. I'm holding off watching this week's episode because of what the previews showed. And I'm guessing there might be a cliff hanger of sorts as most series are going on holiday hiatus so no new shows are coming for many until January at the earliest.

I agree! I wasn't pulled in after the first episode but I stuck it out and now it's on regular rotation. Loved the lion king episode. It was so touching.

I agree. But -- I have to turn the captioning on! There is so much background noise, I really needed captioning for the first couple of episodes. Now, it is a little boost.

I am always wary of medical shows but, after watching a couple of episodes, CodeBlack has turned out to be pretty good. I spot some errors here and there like TPA for stroke never works instantaneously, but by and large, it's pretty factual. It doesn't hurt that I like all the characters.
I also really like The Lion King episode, too.
Now Chicago Med is about to lose me.

I like it too. I was a little skeptical at first, thinking I wouldn't be able to follow it well because of all the frenetic activity and noise, but I'm settling in and really enjoying this show.

No Greys, no ER. Nothing. But, I will watch this!I was not able to watch ER, the first episode I watched had a child die and I couldn't do it. I never watched Grey's because I don't get into the night time soap type shows. But I loved House and now Code Black.

I've been loving this show too. I'm really hoping that it doesn't get cancelled. That seems to happen to me with anything I've gotten hooked on recently.
The last episode was very good. No cliff hangers.

I like the show for the characters, and have to actively ignore how unrealistic it is medically.

OMG....The Lion King cast .....!!!!! That. was. incredible. !!!! I ditto EVERY WORD you said about the show and the actors!!! I just LOVE it !!! I LOVE that Dr. Rorsch (sp) is SO soft-spoken, yet such a GREAT teacher and excellent doctor!!! Ahhh, when she told Mamma " I neeed you!" and he said "I love you, too!" Their friendship is SO sweet, and it's funny the way they tease eachother! I'm looking forward to learning Mamma's personal story. Notice there was NO ONE visiting him at the hospital ? I keep meaning to google if that "bad boy"/ rebel doc is actually British....I think I sometimes hear a SLIGHT slip of his New York/ Jersey (?) accent, so I'm very curious! If he IS British, he's doing a great job with the accent. The head doc / administrator who just took a leave of absence....OMG---BRING HIM BACK!!! His little snarky/ inappropriate comments and stories are such great COMIC RELIEF !!!!! He is SO bad...LOL! The doc they brought in to fill in-----NOOOO!!!-----Not liking her at ALL----I hope that actor didn't actually leave the show !!!! When he told that young boy about his time with a hooker, DH and I died laughing!!!!!!!! The ONE thing we both laugh about is how much TIME the doctors take with EVERYYY patient, and their EMOTIONAL involvement.....LOL....I WISH I'd been to doctors like that !!!! We had every epi DVR'd and started binge-watching last weekend---SO FUN! And even MORE fun, because I wasn't SURE if we'd stick with it ..... OMG, I cannot WAIT to see what happens next week with a *****certain storyline**** !!!!!!! (DH is thinking it is RUINING the show----I LOVE it !!!!) I don't even watch the previews so I'll be surprized !!!

We have all the episodes on the DVR. I told DH the other night that we either need to watch it or delete it. I guess we need to give it a try but I am so burned out on getting invested in a show and then it's canceled. I'm still bitter over Studio 60 and Cane.

I love this show too! I keep forgetting when it's on so I've been watching it On Demand. I love medical shows, and this on is really good. Great characters, fast action and great story lines.

I've been enjoying this one, too. The characters have some interesting back stories and a depth that's missing in a lot of shows. I'm all caught up. This week's episode was great and you don't have to worry about cliffhangers. It wrapped up nice and neat.

Just watched the Lion King episode on On Demand, great show, so good. I never cry at anything and the end of that show brought a tear to my eye. What a wonderful send off!

I agree! I'm loving it too.
The only thing I don't like though, is the story line with the female doctor and her ex-girlfriend/co-worker who showed up pregnant and dying of leukemia. It just doesn't fit the rest of the show and it is annoying the crap out of me. They didn't give us anytime to really get to know her character, and suddenly she's wrapped up in this side story that just doesn't make any sense.
Other than that though...LOVE Marcia Gaye Harding. Wow, can she act. And Dr Hudson...um, YUM!

I don't usually watch these kinds of shows because I can't handle the gore/trauma scenes, but I'm really intrigued by this Lion King episode everyone's talking about. What's the "messy" factor?

Love the interactions between the residents, especially the two guys. I'd be tattling more, though, hahaha!

Now that I have watched the lion king episode I had to come back. That was a very touching episode. I was teary and I kept getting interrupted every min or two and having to pause it. If not I probably would have really been bawling.
