Hi, hope you won't mind me posting this on the scrapbooking thread, but I know you ladies can help me out here.
I am looking for a nice set of coloring pencils, (for use with the new trend of adult coloring books), of good quality but inexpensive. This is for a co-worker so I don't have a lot of $$ in my budget for this. This is something she has never done so I would like a good set that will give her good results, but does not necessary have to be for a seasoned coloring professional.
Any suggestions?
Thank you

Prismacolor Pencils are good pencils. You can get different sized sets like 12, 24, 48. At Michael's or Hobby Lobby you can use a coupon on them and that makes them economical.

Hi, Kohinoor is also a good brand- I have seen them at Joann and Michaels- there are sets of 12 or 24- so not overwhelming # of colors. I have derwent and prismacolor pencils as well- and I think Kohinoor is great for a beginner-- they are pretty creamy and go on nicely and I think they are less expensive than prismacolor.

I have always used Crayola for my grown up coloring books. Crayola has a good section for grown up coloring books & coloring tools- shop.crayola.com/art-and-craft-supplies/adult-coloringI have Prisma Color pencils but I use them with my art. I like my Crayolas because they are woody and less oily for coloring pages. If that makes any sense. I am a little holiday shopping tired. Hope that helps.

Prismacolor is great, but if you use a 50% off coupon at M's you can get a great deal on a set of 12 Kohinoor. My kids have been drawing for about five years now and as they improve they want better supplies. They've gone from Crayola to Kohinoor to Prismacolor. Now they want Copics.
