When you are out and about for the day?
If so, what do you take?
I take small bags of carrots, grapes, apples, and a water bottle. I need some new ideas. Any suggestions?

Right now I'm taking clementines and almonds to work for when I need a little pick up.
Edamame, celery, cucumber, and cheese sticks are all easily portable.

I always have water and a "crumbly" (a Nature Valley Oat & Honey granola bar) in the car. If we have them I'll also grab a banana or apple.

I keep a stash of single serve trail mix and goldfish crackers in my car. I can't do warm cheese, so I wouldn't carry a cheese stick in my purse unless it was going into the fridge at work.

I'm a water fiend, so I always have a soft cooler type bag for my water bottles, definitely nuts (usually almonds), and sometimes yogurt. Plain popcorn is nice sometimes, too.

I travel a lot, carry-on only and don't always have access to a car/grocery store/refrigerator, and these are my go-tos (I watch my carbs): - Protein shakes (I have small little ziplocs that fit the powder for a single shake perfectly). For travel I have this silicone bottle that rolls up, and I just stuck the ball from a Blender bottle in it. Works perfectly, as I do find it's worth it to have a blender ball for protein shakes. - Salami (in the little ziploc baggies, essentially shelf stable) - Laughing Cow wedges (shelf stable and can eat them with the salami and tastes great, also eat them with eggs or wraps/sandwiches and a lot lower calorie option than regular cheese) - Kind bars, a little high in calories for a snack but great on a busy day as a partial meal replacement - Quest Protein Chips - expensive, but high in protein - watch for a GNC sale. Also, buy a single bag at GNC first and make sure you like them. If you go in expecting Lays Potato Chips, you're gonna have a bad time. If I have access to a fridge/grocery store, I usually pick up some yogurt (Kroger makes a Carbmaster yogurt that is awesome), low-carb wraps (sometime I pack them with since they are flat, depending on what the meal plans are for the trip - if I'm eating in my hotel they are a must have), hard-boiled eggs, cottage cheese, grilled pre-chopped chicken. This is my travel water bottle (mine is in a plain gray though) - Camelbak Chute (I am very particular and have different water bottles for different settings). For my work travel, I needed one without a straw so it wouldn't drip under pressurization, small enough drinking port that I don't make an ass of myself spilling, professional enough to take into meetings, plastic so it doesn't clank and make noise on glass tables, and insulated so it doesn't sweat. For use around home/town, I have a 24 oz Starbucks tumbler I really like or a stainless steel Ecovessel insulated for the summer/leaving in the car.

I always carry a healthy bar with me like the That's It ones or Larsbars. Also, always have my water bottle with me.

I'm not a big snacker. I do keep a few things at work that I can grab easily if I need to. Right now I have string cheese, clementines and Ritz crackers there. Otherwise no, I don't bring food with me when going somewhere.

I don't normally carry **snacks** I do pack a lunch for work and sometimes a bit to tide me over if I know I'll be working late. But it is mostly stuff I can leave in the fridge at work.
I like cherry/grape tomatoes, cans of V8 juice, a bottled green tea, Cape Cod brand "dipping shells" that are made from a variety of grains so they are gluten free, string cheese, mixed nuts, some Perfectly Simple granola type of bars (but have to watch as they are rather high carb), olives, or fruit.
But I have been working hard to get past the idea of needing a snack. I try to stick to meal times.

I am not much of a snacker either. If I am out and about running errands and it's that rare occasion that I want a snack...well, that is what the drive thru at McDonald's is for. A small fry and a diet coke is the single most perfect snack in the whole wide world.

I'm not really a snacker but I bring things with me if I'm out and miss a meal. Since I'm vegan it can be difficult to eat out. I always carry water with me and I bring Larabars with me (one of the healthiest choices in bars) and little bags of trail mix from Trader Joe's (the one's with just nuts and dried fruit (no chocolate). It ties me over enough so I can eat when I get home.

I keep Larabars in my purse just in case. Like if I am traveling for work around lunch time. I don't eat fast food (minus Chipotle!!!) so if nothing else I'll eat one of those.
I also keep those single serve packets of Justin's almond butter in my purse or at my desk. I usually squirt some out directly onto a banana. That'll do me for a couple hours anyway.
Nuts, homemade granola and the like are also good!

No, I never take food with me. Probably should if I would be out for a while (instead of getting small fries at McDonalds!). I love apples, but whenever I eat an apple it makes me hungry and I go and eat too much junk food. I am weird! I would love to eat almonds/nuts, but I can't. Good thing because I could eat a whole jar of almonds, walnuts, pecans!

I don't carry snacks. I do keep a Cliff Builder protein bar in my bag and one in my desk drawer. If I am on the go and can't stop for a meal I'd rather have that with a bottle of water than eat fast food.

I'm a snacker due to hypoglycemia and I like fruit, almond butter, yogurt, hummus, Kind bars, and jerky. I don't eat jerky at work because of the smell though. Sometimes I will pack a single serve guacamole pack or lunch meat and cheese in a cooler bag.

I have little plastic containers of hummus. They sell them at the grocery store, I think 8 to a box. And crackers. I have low blood sugar and never know when I'm going to feel shaky.

Lately a couple of times I've been happy that I usually have a stash of nuts, granola bars or larabars in the car for DS. Yesterday was one of those days when the day didn't go as planned and I was out for about 7 hours. I didn't want to stop somewhere to eat and the nuts & larabar kept me going just fine. I always have water with me.

Lately, I've really been eating Kashi Pita chips or Kashi 7 Grain crackers so that is likely what I'll take the next time I'm out for a long time.
I used to have to leave really early to work in a city about 1 1/2 hours away a couple of days a week. I baked bran muffins ahead and kept them in the freezer individually wrapped in sandwich bags inside a freezer bag. I'd take a muffin in its sandwich bag out the night before so I could eat 'breakfast' when I got to work. I drank OJ out of a sippy cup so I would not spill it on my suit. I may be the only child-free woman who owns a sippy cup.

I don't snack but I have a huge fear of hunger so I usually carry a Zone bar in my purse. It is generally crushed and mangled before I ever eat it.

I really like the Sahale snacks. They are kind of expensive, so I hide them from the other snackers in my house

Yes I do. I don't love eating out unless I am meeting a friend, on a date or on vacation for the most part. I try to have a bar of some sort, nuts and some chocolate in my purse. In our heat I can't keep most things in my car so it is often in my purse. Those are for a small meal or snack. If I know I will be out and will need lunch I will pack something and put it in a small cold pack.
