Do you have any? If yes, what do you do? I was recently looking back at my pages for the year. I love them, they're for a bunch of different albums on a ton of different subjects. But one thing I find myself wanting is a project that I can start and finish in a year. Something to work towards and add to. I'm thinking I'd love to do a story centered album but I'm not yet sure about what. Or maybe I could participate in OLW? I'm not really a project life participant. I find those pockets so tough to fill! Just curious to hear what other people do!

I am doing an album that contains pages that celebrate those wacky National day of.....(ie Dog Photo Day, or Vinegar day, etc, etc) There are a lot of food ones so hubby and I search out recipes and then we photograph the results and include the recipe. When there is not a wacky thing to celebrate then I look at On this Day in history and if something occurred that MEANS something to me then I scrap it. Like when Ben Franklin became the first postmaster. When I was young we collected stamps, and had huge albums filled with them. Due to unfortunate circumstances mine has been lost, but I love the memory of this hobby that I shared with my grandmother, aunt, cousin and sister. Now I take photos of every post office that I come across. So I could relate that day to another album project that I am doing. Our the date of the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. One of my favorite songs (obviously not my favorite event), and the song has meaning because it played over and over and over on the radio when I was sixteen and my sister moved me from my home in California to Albuquerque NM, when my mother left for a tour of Mexico for a year. Again a story that is interwoven with the photos my mother has of her trip to Mexico.

I did monthly photo shoots of DS his first year. I'm *still* finishing them (he's 3). I think I have two more to do. I love them mixed into his album and they replaced a baby book as I kept notes of milestones and put those in the journaling. But I will be glad when I finish them all.
You might want to look into Ali Edwards story kits if you want to take on story-based pages this year. Those look like they'd be helpful and interesting.

For a couple of years I did a "monthly" album. I would do a 2 page spread for each month. One page had a main photo I wanted to feature from the month and journaling telling what happened and what we did that month. The other page would have a picture collage or a few pictures from the month showing some of the highlights. Or whatever random things you wanted to show. It was a nice project and I enjoyed it when I was doing it. Granted it is only my husband and I. If you have children, this may not work but it is an idea. And, it was a nice way to remember little things that you may not want to scrap separately.

I made a four seasons series using WRMK 8x8 albums. It was my first experience with pocket page scrapbooking, although some of the pockets were the full 8x8. The pages were more of a hybrid, with quite a bit of embellishing.
It was the last year before we became empty-nesters. The albums include big events such as DS's study abroad in Serbia (pictures snagged from Facebook), DD's last year of high school, lots of college tours, as well as small things like back to school shoe shopping, Christmas ornaments, hanging out with our dogs.
Documenting little everyday things was fun, but doing it for more than a year would really get on my nerves. Now that they're finished, I really enjoy going back and looking at them.

I love this idea! Project Life is not for me, but something like this sounds right up my alley.
