Does anyone else notice that joann.com isn't consistent with their sale items?
They currently are running an online sale of "30% off Tim Holtz Holiday". It seems all the mini distress ink sets are included, except #13. Of course, that is the one I don't have yet. They are including the full-size new distress inks. I realize the mini inks don't scream "holiday", but I can't figure out how some fit the criteria, but not all.
I've seen this happen with other sales in the past, usually the "40% off papercrafting" and an item will be 40% off and another of the same brand, but different line, etc. doesn't show the 40% off.

Yeah, they're weird about stuff like that. Sometimes they run adhesive sales, but when I look for my favorites, they aren't listed at sale prices. You can try emailing them or calling to see if they'll honor the pricing.

Also, their shipping is even slower than normal now, so if you need something fairly quickly or for a gift or something, order from elsewhere.

That's an understatement it takes more than a week for them to ship if they even bother to ship (they said two items weren't in stock so didn't ship but I called and they were in stock and I could reorder at full price) anyways they finally shipped part of my order and it is taking its own sweet time getting here it will be over a week on the road. I don't think I have ever waited this long for items unless they shipped from China and I think in the end these are taking longer:(

If the ink set you want is not on sale, you can use a coupon for it. You should be able to find a code online for 40-50% off.

I placed an order December 8th, fully expecting it to take forever and okay with that. Surprisingly it shows as shipped (everything in the order) on December 10th. But, when I click the tracking link to the FedEx site it just says label created. It's been three days since they created the label but haven't had FedEx pick it up yet?

My recent order was SHIPPED on 2 DEC and arrived on 10 DEC. It sat in Atlanta for FOUR DAYS, and Atlanta is a 4 hour drive from us.

Fed ex is so busy ......they pick up the item, store it in a trailer without scanning it and get to it within the agreed time frame set by the retailer. This happens in December. Not the retailers fault.

Not the retailers fault. I haven't had that happen with any other package I've received via Fed Ex in December, either personally or through work. I've always seen it show up in the system within a day of the label being created. And without scanning it, how does Fed Ex know what is the agreed upon time frame to deliver? All the Fed Ex people I've ever dealt with scan the package immediately upon receipt, they don't read the label and put each package in different parts of the truck so it can be sorted out. Everything is scanned in and loaded together. Sorry, I still see this as a JoAnn's issue, not Fed Ex. They probably printed the label and didn't get it to Fed Ex for another four days.

When JoAnn's ships FedEx, they're using FedEx Smart Post, which works differently than regular FedEx. A company I worked for also shipped that method, and those packages weren't even picked up by a FedEx driver - they were labelled and went into a semi trailer, which FedEx came and picked up. They didn't scan any of those packages until they were unloaded at their facility. That usually happened the next day, but I could see it taking longer during a busy time. I imagine that Joann.com is shipping enough orders that they handle them the same way.
It used to be a little frustrating - if someone from our town placed an order, it shipped from our warehouse (same town) and then went to the southern part of the state (about 4 hours away) and sat down there for a couple of days before coming back to the local post office and being delivered. It usually took close to a week from the date they ordered until they had their stuff.

I purchased an item that was shipped Fed Ex and it has been sitting in Orlando since last Monday and finally left there at 2:51 Am this morning. I have never had this happen before but it is happening this year. It was not a Joanns item either-it was from a sporting goods company. As for Joann's they have the rudest employees I have ever had contact with both in person at the local store and in customer service on the phone.
